ABSTRAK

Pulau Gili Air berada di Kecamatan Pamenang, Kabupaten Lombok Utara, Provinsi
Nusa Tenggara Barat. Pulau Gili Air dikenal sebagai daerah tujuan wisata karena
keindahan alam bawah lautnya, salah satunya adalah makroalga. Makroalga
merupakan tumbuhan bertalus sehingga dikelompokan dalam Thallophyta. Penelitian
ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi perairan serta distribusi spasial makroalga di
perairan pulau Gili Air, Lombok Utara, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Metode yang
digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey yang meliputi penentuan
lokasi penelitian, penentuan Stasiun penelitian, pengambilan data makroalga,
pengamatan parameter perairan, perhitungan data dan analisis data. Hasil penelitian
ini memperlihatkan bahwa kondisi fisika dan kimia perairan pulau Gili Air baik
untuk mendukung kehidupan makroalga. Distribusi spasial makroalga di perairan
pulau Gili Air memperlihatkan bahwa pada Sisi Barat memiliki kelimpahan dan
jumlah spesies lebih rendah daripada Sisi Timur. Distribusi spasial makroalga
berdasarkan kedekatan dengan garis pantai menuju ke arah laut lepas terjadi
penurunan kelimpahan makroalga.

 ABSTRACT

Gili Air Island is located in Pamenang District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa
Tenggara Province. Gili Air Island is known as a tourist destination because of its
natural beauty under the sea, one of which is macroalgae. Macroalgae is a plant with
roots so that is grouped in Thallophyta family. The purpose of this study is to know
water conditions and spatial distribution of macroalgae on the island of Gili Air, North
Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The method used in this study is a survey method
which includes selection of research locations, selection of research stations,
macroalgae data collection, collecting parameters of observations, calculating and
analyzing data. The results of this study has show that chemical and physical
distribution of Gili Air Island can support macroalgae life. The spatial distribution of
macroalgae on the island of Gili Air shows that the abundance and number of species
on West side of Gili Air Island is lower than the East Side. The spatial distribution of
macroalgae, based on proximity to the coastline towards the open sea, has decreased
macroalgae abundance.
