The book starts when the Titanic is found in 1985.

The ship was more than 3,000 metres below

the sea. Lots of photographs were taken and a film was made years later.

The story of the Titanic begins in the early 20th century. It was the biggest ship in the world. Its
construction was finished in 1912 and it had the fastest and most advanced technology. It was
divided into 16 compartments doors for emergencies and luxurious accommodation for the
first-class passengers. The richest people in the world, travelled in the Titanic. There were
second-class rooms that were very beautiful, too. Finally, under the first and second class,
there were third-class rooms occupied by poor and working class people that wanted to start a
new life in America.

On 10th April 1912, the Titanic left Southampton and picked up some passenger in France and
Ireland. Then, the Titanic went towards New York. The designer of the ship, Thomas Andrews,
was on board too an mentioned to a passenger that there were very few lifeboats, but they
were not necessary because the ship could never sink.
