ACTION RESEARCH PROPOSAL


On Having Poor Vocabulary of Grade 7 Students of
Civoleg Integrated School

I. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

I am an adviser of grade 7 class of Civoleg Integrated School and there


are 17 students I am dealing every day of my teaching. At the start of the
school year, which was month of June, I observed that they were all
participative in terms in oral participation like they were answering all my
questions and they were attentive in class discussions. But as time passed
by, I noticed that they were weak in spelling every time I’ve gave them
spelling activities. Even the simplest and easy words seemed hard for them
to spell. Curios by such, I investigated and found out that they have poor
vocabulary.

II. PROPOSE INTERVENTION

Due to poor vocabulary, I will however make an intervention called


“Reading to Know Everything.” It is a reading intervention on enriching their
vocabulary. It will be a 20-minute session everyday between 12:40 to 1:00
PM. This session will handle by me with the consent of my students’ parents.
It will not only improve their reading skills but also it can be their
steppingstone towards wide vocabulary and strengthen their spelling skills.
