SPECIFIC MODULE Module 6: INTRODUCTION TO SHIP


DURATION: 52 HOURS

Goal:
The education is aimed at providing students with basic ship knowledge

Learning outcome(s):
To demonstrate their competencies, the students must be able to:
 Understand basic naval architecture;
 Classify ships;
 Understand ship measurement and dimention;
 Understand ship stability.

Assessment condition:
 Assessment is individual basis, under invigilation;
 The candidate shall not use any dictionary in written or oral phase;

The materials handed to candidates are description or excerpts of texts reflecting social or professional
situations, on the basics of which questions relating to definitions, understanding, analysis and summary
are asked.

Module 7: SHIP OPERATION

DURATION: 52 HOURS
GOAL:
This education is aim at providing the students with competencies in berthing a ship.

Learning outcome(s):
To demonstrate their competencies, students must be able to:
 Understand port procedure;
 Understand role of berthing meeting;
 Understand how to choose an operator;
 Understand how to choose a terminal.

Assessment conditions:
 Assessment is on individual basis, under invigilation, no dictionary is allowed in the written.

relating to definitions, comprehension, analysis and summary are asked.

 Know process of contracting port pilots;

This education is aim at providing students with competencies in port community.

To demonstrate their competencies, students must be able to:
 Know the intervening parties in the port;
 Understand the role of the parties
 Know the location of the intervening parties.

Assessment conditions:
 Assessment is on individual basis, under invigilation, no dictionary is allowed in the written.

 Understand how to plan a voyage;
 Understand shipping contracts;
 Understand terminal performance.
