What does the movie say about the human person? as an image of God?

Everyone has their own freedom, faith and responsibility. It all become different when we

apply an act or respond on it because we have own understanding on each thing that happening on

us right now and we have different approach on how we handle things in life and that was the film

about. Dealing with every problem in life is really hard because we have to make a decision, a

decision that can lead us to a brighter or worst future. As image of God, people never lose their

faith, no matter what they are doing and what they have been in life they still ask for acceptance,

mercy, forgiveness and love to still continue their journey that made by their decisions in life.

What can you say about " freedom" as practiced by John q?

The " freedom " in John Q is well expressed because people tend to abuse their freedom.

First is to make a decision between their house and car to give up just to pay their bills. Next is

where the point of the story that John Q choose to break the law and settle the things in that way.

In that scene it really turned out that a human person has a free choice, to do essentially good and

to do essentially bad whether he is a Christian and has faith because John Q reached his limit to

the point that he is force to do something against his will or his beliefs which fall on the

fundamental option of human freedom.

Love for his family especially for his son

His love for his family never dies but therefore it helps them to became strong to surpass

all these hindrances in life.

Do a hostage taking in the hospital

Even though he has faith and believes in God, still he is capable to choose evil over good

because he has the freedom to choose.

Almost sacrifice his life for the sake of his son

His inner freedom shows in that scene wherein he will do all possibly he can do like

sacrificing his self to provide a heart to his son that will undergo of heart transplant.

Letting go all his ego and pride

John Q choose to let go his pride in order to seek help for their bills in the hospital. His

determination and moral responsibility continue t show and to the point that he was blinded that

he has a power to make any decision which lead to do the hostage taking,

 John Q shows how the freedom work, how freedom can be utilize from any means that can

lead to different consequences in life. At some point, John's decision is considered to be good

wherein he helps people to realize that medical insurance is not only for those who have money or

upper class but also to the people who are really in need. Everyone have different perspective on

how to deal every problem in life just like John Q, his decision is very risk taking. His son's life

and his life were put in the line and it could lead to worst situation opposite to what happened in

the movie.
