The Digital Self

Last meeting, we watched a documentary film about the machine learning and artificial

intelligence. Basing from the documentary that we have watched, it seemed to be that machine

learning and artificial intelligence are now taking place and existing around the world through

cellular phones, computers, appliances and other technologies. Machine learning and the Artificial

Intelligence are now dominating around the world. We are now leaving in the modern world where

everything is getting upgraded yearly. Inventors, developers and other experts are still continuing

with evolving the machineries and are still finding improvements for a fast and convenient way in

accomplishing things.

As part of todays’ generation, I am one of those teenagers who are fond of surfing the

internet, streaming videos on YouTube, playing online games and other entertainments that are

found in the social media. I tend to experience the machine learning situation wherein whenever I

watch or stream videos on YouTube, videos that interests me and those that I have in mind

searching are sequentially appearing which made it easy for me and will be just few clicks away.

I find it very easy for me to access and find everything that I want to find on the internet without

hassles and burdens.

 Furthermore, upon watching the documentary film, there was a dilemma that was presented

on the film which pertains to how the world will become. As for me, it will both give benefits and

at the same time problems in the near future. In line with the benefits, people in the future will

have no difficulties in doing and accomplishing things anymore may it be in the field of education,

work and even on the household chores. Things have made to be fast and effortless. As what was

shown on the film, other than the normal people, senior citizens and persons with disabilities will

also benefit from the evolving technologies in ways like; it will be much easier and accessible for

them to operate and do the things and tasks that they’ve always wanted to do despite their

conditions in life with no difficulties.

But on the other hand, if there are benefits, there will also be problems that will surely

occur. If machineries and other technologies are to be enhanced year by year with the purpose of

making things much easier for everyone, people will become reliable, lazy and will no longer think

of exerting efforts in doing things. Other than this, it will also affect the physical health of the

humans in ways like; there will be no more exercise of the body and effortless means less sweat

which is not good. Also, people in the future will become ignorant in doing things traditionally

and manually. People will become dependent on the technologies and maybe the traditional ways

will be forgotten. People will not anymore think of learning the traditional ways and artificial

intelligence will dominate the world. The purpose of real life will be ignored and the future life

will become useless, plain, unproductive and les fun.
