ENGLISH V SÍLABO
I. GENERAL DATA:
Knowing a language allows us to increase our cultural background, expand new horizons,
access other sources of information, obtain better jobs.
The English V course is intended to ensure the command of basic English both written and
oral knowing its structure and operation.
English V involves the development of the comprehension of written and oral messages and
emphasizes the correct production of them, incorporating the study of the structural aspects
necessary for this purpose at a basic level of English.
(Basic English Level).
III. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the semester the student will be able to: To value the importance and richness
of the English language as a useful and necessary tool in their daily life and in their
professional career. Assume a practical and punctual behavior against the use of the
English language. To develop in communicative situations at a basic level of English
through a natural understanding and oral and written production. Safely handle a Basic
Vocabulary of the English language.

IV. METHODOLOGY
In-person mode
The professor will make the introductory presentation of the course and the syllabus
itself, at the beginning of the course, emphasizing that it will promote research and
constant dialogue with the students to help them to fix and deepen the knowledge they
acquire.
At all times, you will highlight the importance of the need for spontaneous participation
in the course and that you should not only know but also investigate the different topics
covered.
In essence, the subject will be developed with the following methodological guidelines:
a) The course teacher will present in each class, the theoretical foundation of the
different topics, following the order indicated in the analytical program. It will also
encourage and stimulate the intervention of students in the class. It will leave topics
for students to do research on them, in different levels of complexity.
b) In case students find difficulty to solve any problem related to the subject, they can
go to make the respective consultation to the responsible teacher.
Remote mode
It is the virtual space where the teacher will solve the concerns and deepen the
knowledge that the student needs to acquire in this subject.
Communication with the teacher will be done through the conversation room at the
times defined in the virtual campus.
Remember that telematics tutoring is for strictly academic purposes, if you need the
teacher to clarify the score obtained in some of your grades, use email.
In this process, it is essential that you have a comprehensive and interpretive reading
level for which the following guidelines are put into consideration:
a) Look for the most favorable environmental conditions for the study, which will
facilitate your concentration and your learning.
c) Remember that you must interpret the concepts presented by the author in your
own words, this will allow you to better understand the topic.
d) Use the glossaries that are at the end of each teaching unit as well as the dictionary,
as it will enrich your vocabulary and clearly understand the ideas expressed in the text.
f) Take care of the proper presentation of your work, either in depth (depth, accuracy
and rigor of your answers) or in form (spelling and order).
V. EVALUATION:
In-person mode
The current regulations of the university require compulsory attendance to classes and that
the teacher passes the attendance list in each class that he or she dictates, noting the
absences in the register provided by the University. You can not exceed 30% of absences
justified to theoretical teaching hours, or 20% to practices to have the right to evaluation.
Given the nature of the course with regard to imparting knowledge but also the direct
transmission of the teacher's experience and the active participation of the students in the
classroom, it is reiterated that it is of vital importance to attend classes.
The justification of the absences will only be accepted with the report that can elevate, the
Department of University Welfare, to the professor of the course with copy to the Academic
Career Manager.
Finally, it must be perfectly understood that only when the student attends classes does he
/ she gain the right to be evaluated and that the regulations expressed in the regulations of
the University will be present at all times.
- Academic Work (TA), The permanent evaluation system contemplates the following
modalities of academic work: Participation in class.
- Final Exam (EF), which consists of the theoretical-practical evaluation of knowledge of the
entire course and where the student will give their answers in writing.
DESCRIPTION WEIGHTING
In case the grade of the Substitute Exam is lower than the lowest mark of the First Partial
Exam or of the Final exam, none of them will be replaced, leaving the student with the grade
obtained until before the Substitute Examination.
The exam grades will be governed by the vigesimal system. To pass a subject, a minimum
grade of 11.00 points is required. When establishing the final average, the student must
consider the residue equal to or greater than five tenths (0.5) as a point.
Remote mode
to. Exams They are evaluations that you will perform in virtual form, these exams consist of:
- Partial Exam, consists of a theoretical - practical evaluation of knowledge and where the
student will give their answers in writing.

detailed knowledge of the activities of the course, at the same time visit from your virtual
