Tan who guided me during my internship and took care of me,

COMPANY PROFILE
ABOUT THE COMPANY
HISTORY
Valenzuela City is genuinely committed in accord with the policy of the

state to promote the right of all citizens to quality education. Under the
administration of former Mayor Jose Emmanuel L. Carlos, a study group was
formed to prepare a developmental plan as well as to formulate policies and
regulations for the creation of a local university.
On June 5, 2002, the Council of Valenzuela approved Ordinance No.

14 that paved way for the establishment of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng
Valenzuela (PLV). The university started humbly in a small but strategically
situated edifice at the heart of the city. On June 24, 2002, the institution
formally opened its doors to 500 students. The academic programs offered
were Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Management,
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in
Secondary Education Major in English, Filipino, Science, and Mathematics,
Bachelor in Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Science in Public
Administration.
In 2004, as former Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian – now Senator –

assumed office, more vibrant plans were focused on education. Under the
presidency of Dr. Nedeña C. Torralba, a new phase of development started.
Additional programs were offered: Graduate Studies in Education and Public
Administration, and Certificate in Teaching Program. Facilities and services

for students were also developed.
In 2009, the surge in the number of qualified enrollees required the

acquisition of an extension campus about 500 meters away from the main
building. More facilities were constructed and enhanced like the Computer
laboratory, Chemistry laboratory, Speech laboratory, gymnasium, dance
studio, and etc.
To ensure its clientele of a dynamic center of development, classrooms

are being continuously and aesthetically improved.
The continuous expansion of PLV undertaken during the

administration of Mayor Rex Gatchalian is part of the Valenzuela City
Government’s commitment to meet the growing demand of Valenzuelano
high school graduates for a tertiary institution where higher quality education
can be pursued at par with the best in the country.
VISION:
A dynamic center for the development of competent and competitive

human resource as foundation for growth and advancement of the City of
Valenzuela.
MISSION:
To provide the citizens of Valenzuela an efficient and effective

institution of higher learning that will make them skillful, productive,
competent, competitive, civic-minded, and God loving toward a peaceful,
healthy and progressive city of Valenzuela.

ASSESSMENT AND LEARNINGS
This is to state my reflection and learning experiences upon my On-the-Job-

Training program where in took place at my dear alma mater Pamantasan ng
Lungsod ng Valenzuela. As a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering student I
am required to take this training as part of my curriculum.
Where a lot of learning experience I encounter such as I able to learn the

appropriate standard size of beams and columns, the spacing for each hallway
etc. Engr. Jordan N. Velasco and Engr. Psalms June Tan discussed where building
I assigned. Thus, building design, assessment, building construction, facilitation
maintenance. At first, I met the foreman sir Larry he willingly shares all his
experience and years of expertise in his field, I learn from him the right or correct
measurement of stirrups. Aside from the foreman I able to meet few people whom
I also get information or knowledge like Engr. John Floren Alcantara, Engr. Nicole
John Pamoraga(engineer assigned for site),aside from being generous to help me
and done with my homework they also instruct me with the right steel
measurement , type size its difference for different usage like for slabs and stirrups
10mm or 12mm, 20mm or 25mm for columns and beams so on and so forth.
Within those inclusive dates April 4,2019 to July 9, 2019 I enjoy my On-the-
Job-Training at the same time able to enhance my skills and knowledge also to
socialize to my co-OJT.
Ending this with the quote to experience is a way of learning and sharpening one’s
mind.
