Creating InfoCube
1) In BW systems, type transaction RSA1 Æ AWB – Modeling Æ InfoProvider (also known as
Data Targets)
2) Right click on InfoProvider and choose
3) Provide a technical name (no spaces) and an description

4) Right click on and choose

5) You will come to this screen

FIG 02: Edit InfoCube

a) Type in a technical name (no spaces) and a good description. In your case it should be ZXXX,
where XXX is the first 3 letters of your first name.
b) Make sure BasicCube is selected.
c) Choose to create this InfoCube.

6) You will come to this screen

FIG 03: Edit InfoCube: Characteristics

a) On this screen, make sure the template is <all InfoObjects>

b) From the right hand, clicks highlight the characteristics and click and transfer them to
the left side.
c) Click on Dimension and you will come up with this window, click yes

d) You will come to this Dimension screen

FIG 05: Define Dimensions

I) Click and
II) Type in a description; remember we can have up to 13 dimensions.
III) Click Assign tab

e) You will come to this screen

II) Click and place cursor on Material under “Dimensions”

III) Then click on to assign the characteristics to a dimension.

Repeat the same thing for 0CUSTOMER. Click to get back to Dimension screen

*You can click on to see the graphical

display of the assignment. For e.g.

f) Click on tab and you will come to this screen

FIG 08: Edit InfoCube: Time Characteristics

Follow the same steps. Transfer 0FISCYEAR; notice 0FISCVARIANT also got transferred
because it is a Compound Characteristics. Same way create/assign the dimensions.

g) Click tab and you will come to this screen

Transfer the Key Figure

h) Come back to the InfoCube screen and click to activate. You will get the confirmation on
the status bar .

7) Come back to the AWB – Modeling Æ Infoprovider, you will see your InfoCube.
