 Introduction
Online Exam Portal is a website developed for the students who want to prepare objective
type Exams in schools, colleges and institutes. It facilitates to access the Online Exam of
particular Subject. The information is stored on server database and can be used for the result
evaluation. The online exam is totally password protected so no one can take a fake online
exam.

 The Online Quiz Exam is aimed to encourage children to check their general
knowledge and improve their performance and confidence.

 Quiz Questions are arranged randomly on various topics fit in to General Knowledge,
Current affairs, sports, History, Science & Technology, Mental ability, Culture,
Heritage etc.
 Participants can enter the quiz any number of times and only latest details will taken
into the consideration for the contest.
 Quiz questions will be changed once in every two months.

 Purpose
The purpose of developing online exam portal is to computerized the traditional hand written
way of taking exam. Another purpose for developing this software is to generate the report
automatically and give the result at a time when exam is finished.

 The big benefit of online examination is the reduction of costs and time, both from the
student as from the teacher.
 The biggest limitation is that you have to be online to use an online examination
system. Hence the name "online".

Scope
The scope of the project is the system, on which the server is installed for running websites,
i.e. the project is initially developed as offline website and it will work for a particular
institute. But later on the project can be modified to operate it online.

Scope of this project is very broad in terms of other manually checking yourself.

Few of them are:-

 This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate world.

 Can be used anywhere any time as it is a web based application (user Location
doesn’t matter).
 No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the test.

 Overview

 Online Exam Portal basically has two main modules for proper functioning
 First module is admin which has right for creating user id and password for new
student. And Add new subject and test for the exam.
 Second module is handled by user which can be Student of institute, college and
school. User has the right of taking exam and evaluates the result.

Basic Working flow:

The student has to Login to the website using his/her user id and password provided
by administration. On successful login a homepage is opened where user can take new exam
and can view previous taken exam result.

For new exam the user has to choose subject and topic for the give exam online. On
submission a new page is opened where actual exam question and answers is being taken.

That’s all, his/her exam is taken. As soon as all questions is being answer and click on
submit. Then he/she may Logout.
