Background

We are developing our website at beyondthequarter.com, and you can see more clearly
there what we are about. Note that we may likely change the colours of the site based on
the chosen logo design. Ignore the old company name and logo there (inspired indie), as
we're changing it! But you should see that our focus isn't just growing businesses - it is
about growing businesses that are sustainable, lead with values, care about people and
environment and so on.

PLEASE NOTE PREFERENCES BELOW

• The key concept is about long-term, sustainable growth. NOT just business growth
on its own. Meaning logos involving charts showing an upward trend are unlikely to
be successful, unless they are somehow creatively combined with concepts showing
that people and sustainability are at least, if not more, important.

• I prefer simple designs to complex. Simple, but communicative designs rather than
very intricate and complicated ones.

• I am not particularly keen on simply taking the words and applying template patterns
to them. The design needs to relate to the concept of what the company is about
(see above), rather than just be some corporate pattern or readily available clip-art
designed around a couple of the letters. Please think about what the company is
about rather than simply applying some geometric pattern or clip art in the hope
that it would be favourable received.

• As we are about far more than simply profitability or business growth, I'd like to stay
away from designs or colours that are typically corporate in feeling. If it feels like it
would work for a bank or a real-estate company, it's unlikely to work for us.

• We are open to the use of the initials BTQ as well as the full words Beyond the
Quarter. Please be aware, though, that there is a very well know homeware brand in
the UK, B&Q, and we should avoid the BTQ being confused with it!

Although the best design will talk for itself, do please feel free to explain why you've
proposed the design that you have.
Design Notes
I like with this how multiple concepts can
be introduced within the illustration. I’m
open to something like this which can bring
together both the business growth aspects
as well as the human and environmental
ones into the same simple illustration.

Again, I like the simplicity of the line

drawing here. Interesting font. I don’t
particularly care for the year founded at the
bottom. I also like that this simple
illustration can be easily used on top of
different backgrounds, such as the forest
below.
I like these again because of the relative
simplicity of the illustration.

Very different from the others, but a simple

and distinctive type and font.

I like the use of the letter V in a way that

isn’t just playing with the letter, but
supportive of the name and what the brand
represents.
