Cliff is a wanderer staying at the town. He's rather shy but a nice man, nonetheless.

He has a very guilty conscience and is

somewhat of a devout Catholic, spending most of his time at the church when he's not at the Inn.

In fall, he's thinking about leaving permanently. And he will, if you don't stop him. The way to do this is here.

He seems rather shy around Ann, and if befriended, will marry her.

You can court him back in nearly every game, in Friends of Mineral Town, you can do so by asking him to help out at Aja
Winery during the fall. There is a cutscene with Doug, Ann and Cliff where the two get him to stay for good.

Heart Events
If you play More Friends of Mineral Town, Cliff is an eligible bachelor.

Black Heart Event:

Walk into the Church on either Tuesday or Thursday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. You will walk up to Carter and he will
introduce himself. He will then ask you for a favor: that you make friends with Cliff, since he is so shy. You will agree, and
then walk over to Cliff. He stammers a while before telling you he is so nervous he can't speak. Choose the "Relax." option,
and he will calm down.

Purple Heart Event:

Before Cliff gets a job: Walk into the Church on a Monday or Wednesday at 4 p.m. Carter will invite you to eat dinner with he
and Cliff, and you will accept. Cliff is quite happy with the fact that you are having dinner together. Carter will ask the two of
you to clean up and leave the room. Cliff gets a little annoyed with Carter, but doesn't expect you to help. Choose "I'll help!"
and he will be very happy. You'll eat dinner with Carter and Cliff, then go home.

If Cliff already has his job: Go to the Church on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Blue Heart Event:

Requirements: Cliff has a job; you have the largest rucksack with an empty slot.

Walk from your farm to the Winery on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Cliff and Duke will be
talking in the vineyard. Duke tells Cliff to take a break, and decides that it would be perfect if you and Cliff went to Mother's
Hill. Cliff will argue, but Duke tells him it is the perfect opportunity to thank you for finding Cliff a job. Cliff agrees, and the
two of you go to Mother's Hill. He will talk about his job, and ask you if you enjoy farm work. Choose "Yes" and he will talk
about working at the winery. Before you head back, Cliff will give you the Mountain Flower necklace he made.

Orange Heart Event:

Requirements: Cliff has a job; cannot be triggered in Winter.

Go to the Winery on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Duke and Manna will be discussing your
relationship with Cliff when you walk in and surprise them. Duke will then ask you what Cliff's bad point is. Answer "He
thinks too much." Duke will compliment you for knowing Cliff so well. Soon, Cliff will walk in, and Duke will say that you
wanted to have dinner with Cliff at the Inn. Cliff will be happy, and then you will end up outside of your house. Cliff thanks
you for having dinner with him, and suggests that you do it again soon.
