Task 1(a):

The use of comments in an excel worksheet can help explain or clarify information
on that worksheet. An example of a good time to use comments is when a new
employee is hired to complete excel reports and the hire is new to the information
on the document. Comments can be embedded to explain how formulas function
and what certain data sets represent.

Task 1(b):

Naming a cell or a range is useful in excel for several reasons. One example where
naming a cell can prove to be beneficial is when a company has a very elaborate
spreadsheet. For example, a large business may have very detailed financial reports
and if you want to locate a specific value (operation costs), you could name the cell
and then click in the name box and those values will be highlighted.

Task 4(b): Names of Salespersons receiving a Bonus in Scenario 2

Ty Cooke, Jax Gomez, Alayna Fowler, and Pablo Bradley.

Task 4(c): Explanation of why the scenarios can produce different results. Your
recommendation and reasons.
The method based on quarterly performance only takes into account if you were
amongst the Top 3 that quarter, so if you weren’t, the probability of you receiving
a bonus has decreased. On the other hand, if the bonus is based on total sales, an
individual who may not have been amongst the Top 3 for two or more quarters, but
performed very well can still get a bonus. I would choose the quarterly method
because it makes the salespersons work harder.
