Nearly two thirds of urban Honolulu massage parlors that were recently reviewed by customers on a
popular website were not registered to do business in Hawaii, and almost all of them accepted cash only,
according to a Honolulu Star-Advertiser analysis. The newspaper checked the online registration records of
the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs for 53 exotic massage parlors that had customer
reviews within the past year. Here’s what we found. The name, location, hourly rate and cash information
about each parlor came from the industry website.
