3. Assist in the development of standard specification,
operating guidelines and procedures in the conduct of
test/examinations.
4. Initiates preliminary draft of technical information and
conducts preparatory safety analysis of survey data.
5. Provides assistance to enforcing authorities or other
agencies in the formulation of rules on technical safety.
6. Performs calibration and maintenance job on laboratory
equipment.
7. Participates in the studies/training on methods of
research, evaluation of results, reporting and
dissemination;
8. Performs other functions as may be assigned from time to
time

Engineering Eligibility: CS Sub Professional Salary Grade 8


Assistant
Education: Completion of 2 yrs. studies in college (Php 14,931/mo++)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Under general supervision, renders assistance in the


conduct of research and survey activities;

4. Participates in group research for the development of
standard test procedures;
5. Assists in the preparation of guidelines and procedures for
improving safety condition of workplace;
6. Participates in group discussion on safety research and
survey activities;
7. Assists in the safety evaluation of machines, equipment
and electrical installation;
8. Assists in the maintenance, calibration and testing of
laboratory instruments and equipment.

Officer
Education: Doctor of Medicine (Php 31,351/mo++)

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Under direction, provides consultation as well as


formulates and issues technical guidelines for prevention,
diagnosis and management of occupational diseases;
2. Promotes workers’ health by providing medical services
and ensuring healthy working conditions in places of
employment through medical surveys in the different
industrial establishments and through conduct of seminars
on occupational and industrial health;
3. Conducts special medical examinations on workers
exposed to health hazards;
4. Supervises and interprets pulmonary function test,
audiometry, visual acuity, fatigue testing and neurologic
examination;
5. Performs research work in the field of occupational and
industrial health;
6. Acts as trainer or resource person in national seminars
and conferences related to occupational health;
7. Plans and formulates programs and procedures to
improve field services in occupational health;
8. Gives assistive services to the public in the promotion of
occupational health activities;
9. Analyzes or interprets data gathered from all medical
surveys in different establishments;
10. Performs preliminary ECG reading, classifies chest x-ray
results according to ILO Radiologic Classification
Standards for pneumoconiosis and evaluates or interprets
results of special laboratory examination;

Hygienist
Education: Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the job (preferably ChE (Php 33,859/mo++)

Experience: 2 yrs. of relevant experience (in occupational safety


and health)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Under direction, develops, evaluates, monitors and


coordinates the implementation of research projects
towards the recognition of environmental factors arising in
the workplace which may cause impairments and
diminution in health and functional capacity of the workers.
2. Takes charge in the initial interview and evaluation of
papers, reports, project proposals, and informative
materials on the Division’s area of concern.
3. Renders technical assistance to private entities in the
design of engineering measures in the control and
abatement of environmental hazards in their respective
place of work.
4. Anticipates, detects, evaluates and monitors industrial
operations potentially injurious to health.
5. Performs laboratory experiments and test of respiratory
protective device.
6. Coordinates in developing training materials and programs
for the education of workers and the public in the
prevention of occupational safety and health hazards.
7. Participates in seminars, conferences and workshops
related to occupational safety and health.
8. Performs other functions as may be assigned from time to
time.

Assistant Industrial Eligibility: CS Sub Professional Salary Grade 8


Hygienist I
Education: Completion of 2 yrs. studies in college (preferably (Php 14,931/mo++)

health)

Experience: 1 yr. of relevant experience (in occupational safety and


health)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Under direction, participates in the conduct of studies,


researches and field surveys related to the Division’s
functions;
2. Assists in the sampling or monitoring of various chemical,
physical and biological agents found in the workplace and
performs necessary laboratory analysis;
3. Assists in the conduct of laboratory experiments and tests
of respiratory and ventilations system;
4. Participates in the preparation of reports based on field
and laboratory findings;
5. Monitors the availability of necessary reagents and
supplies used in field work and in the laboratory;
6. Performs regular monitoring, maintenance and calibration
of both field and laboratory equipment;
7. Participates in seminars and workshops related to
occupational safety and health;
8. Performs other functions as may be assigned.

Research Analyst Eligibility: CS Professional Salary Grade 11

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assists in the formulation of research designs, interview


schedules and questionnaire to be used in the survey;
2. Conducts interviews, and administers questionnaires for data
collections;
3. Assists in the conduct of studies and research on appropriate
methods of research evaluation, presentation and dissemination
of medical survey results;
4. Gathers and catalogues literature from journals, books, etc., for
records and reference purposes;
5. Tabulates and graphs all data relevant to the study being
conducted; or processes and encodes data for epidemiologic
studies;
6. Accompanies the industrial hygienists during ocular surveys in
order to set acquainted with the general background and
working environment of the company;
7. Assists in pinpointing areas and hazardous processes;
8. Assists in filing out the ocular survey forms;
9. Maintains all the equipment in the section;
10. Performs other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Computer Eligibility: CS Professional Salary Grade 15


Programmer II
Education: Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the job (Php 24,887/mo++)

deployment information systems using open source
software development tools such as PHP and MySQL with

3. Verifies the correctness and validity of data received
according to specified format and content and
oversees the integrity of data accuracy of information;
4. Provides technical assistance to applications problem
such as procedures, errors, bugs and correction compiles;
5. Maintains back-up file scheduling and restoration data as
necessary;
6. Maintains information communications technology
equipment and ensure its preventive maintenance;

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develops and implements work methods and techniques


designed to improve records management of OSHC;
2. Adopts and maintains an efficient and effective filing
system;
3. Adopts a systematic procedure and supervises receiving,
recording and releasing of official papers;
4. Classifies records and documents for filing, determine
records to be retired for the proper records disposal in
accordance with existing rules;
5. Maintains an updated indexing of vital information;
6. Represents the office in all court appearance by virtue of
subpoena duces tecum;
7. Maintains an index of all Board Resolutions and actions
for easy retrieval;
8. Performs other related functions as may be required.

procurement of supplies of the Regional Extension Unit
(REU) and safekeeping of office materials, equipment, etc.
2. Facilitates the payment of office rentals and bills for
utilities such as electric, telephone, internet, water, etc.;
3. Acts as Special Disbursing and Collecting Officer for the
REU;
4. Acts as Chairperson of the Inspection and Acceptance
Committee for REU;
5. Coordinates with the OSHC Main Officer for the conduct of
activities in their particular REU;
6. Prepares monthly accomplishment report of the REU;
7. Acts as resource person on OSH-related topics; and
8. Performs other functions as may be assigned from time to
time.
