Solution

Login to EPBCS with the provided URL. If already an application is available you need to
go to Homepage>Application>Overview and from Actions select Remove Application.
Alternatively you can skip this exercise if you have already created the EPBCS application
and you want to just enable Workforce in existing application, but for the purpose of this
exercise let’s create a fresh application, as some of the metadata /data files would pick
this application name

In the application creation wizard provide the app name (We used WrkFrc) and a
description. Then, click ‘next’.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 4
Creating Application

Click “Next” and change the Start Year to 2016 and the End Year to 2024, leaving all
other default selections, as follows:

www.bispsolutions.com Page 5
Click “Next”
Review your selections and click “Create” (this should take approximately 2-3 minutes)
Click “OK”

Select the “Application” cluster card from the “HomePage”. From the available cards,
click on the “Configure” card

Configure Application
From the “Configure” drop-down selector, select “Workforce”, once “Workforce” is
showing in the Configure screen, click the “Enable Features” button at the bottom of the
screen

www.bispsolutions.com Page 6
Select the following Features (see screen-shots below)
a. Granularity: Job and Employee

b. Expense Planning: Additional Earnings, Benefits, Taxes, Non-Compensation Expenses

c. Headcount Planning: Employee Demographics (If Required in Planning)

d. Workforce Management: New Hires, Terminations, Transfers (If Required in Planning)

e. Accept all other default selections for dimensions

f. Click “Enable”

g. You will be prompted with a Warning Message “Enable features will continue. Please
Confirm”. Click on the “OK” button to continue. (Enablement takes approximately 3
minutes)

h. After the process is completed, you will receive a Message “The Workforce
functionality that you selected was successfully enabled. To see the enabled features, log

off and then log on again”. Click “OK” and proceed to Log-off and Log-on again.

After Re-Log-On, as per the steps in your earlier exercise, from the “Home-Page”, select
Application> Configure, and change the drop-down selector to Workforce (same steps
as shown in the previous exercise)

Import Metadata

Select “Employee”

Browse metadata file, validate and import.

Refresh database
On successful import refresh database.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 8
Refresh Database continues.

Select “Entity”, browse metadata file, validate and import and on successful import
refresh database.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 9
Import Job

Select “Component”, browse metadata file, validate and import and on successful import
refresh database.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 10
Now under configure go to option and tiers and add option accounts as shown in the
screenshot.

Planning and Forecast Preparation

Return to the “Configure” tab within Console, select Workforce from the drop-down selector,
and click “Planning and Forecast Preparation”

Change the “Plan Start Year” to “Current Fiscal Year” and then change it back to “Next Fiscal
Year”.

Click “Save”

www.bispsolutions.com Page 13
Create Benefits, Tax, and Additional earning Defaults

Select “Benefits and Taxes” and select proper intersection.

Select component as additional earning to provide with required assumptions.

To exclude transport allowance in calculation of benefits select “Do not add to gross pay”
under earning type. It will result in exclusion of transport allowance in calculating benefits
as per case involved.

Select rates and input rate as per defined case.

Additional Earning FY19

www.bispsolutions.com Page 15
Similarly add accommodation assumption.

However, as the case involves accommodation allowance to be included in calculating

benefits keep earning type as “Add to gross pay”

Similarly add responsibility allowance assumption.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 16
Now, to add benefits assumption, go to benefits and taxes and select benefits under POV to add
assumption for benefits.

If the benefits is included in calculating tax amount enable value type as percentage of overall
earnings.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 17
Similarly add medical contribution under benefits. As per case medical benefits calculation
is to be done on gross salary only, therefore select value type as percentage of salary. It
will result into calculation of medical benefits utilizing only basic salary.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 18
In the next step define salary basis and rates for salary grade.

Define Salary Grades

Under configure select salary grades and provide with assumption as per user case.

www.bispsolutions.com Page 21
Add salary default, additional earning, benefits and taxes to map the same to job and union
code.

Go to homepage and select compensation planning under workforce kart.

To add salary defaults select “defaults” and click actions.

Similarly add additional earnings, benefits, and taxes defaults.
