The ignition system on the gasoline motor processes the mixture of gasoline and air
in the cylinder according to the time determined at the end of the compression stroke. The
onset of burning is necessary because, on a gasoline motor, it cannot happen by itself
Combustion of compressed gasoline-air mixture occurs in the cylinder after the spark
plugs sparks, so that the power obtained due to gas expansion (explosive) combustion results,
pushing the piston into the TMB is a business step. In order for a spark plug to spark, a
system that works accurately is needed. The ignition system consists of various components,
which work together in a very fast and short time.
1. (Exsternal Combustion Engine) that is, the motor that is burning outside the
engine.
Example: steam engine, steam turbine and others.
2. Internal Combustion Engine that is the motor that the combustion process is
inside the engine itself.
3. Example: Diesel motor, gasoline motorbike, and others.
1. The use of fuel used will be more efficient because the internal combustion engine has
a better heat efficiency.
2. Engine construction is simpler (smaller) because unlike in external combustion
engines that require additional components, for example in a steam engine, the engine
requires a boiler.
3. Because of the simple engine construction the internal combustion engine does not
require a large space or takes up space compared to the external combustion engine /
Faster and easier to run (operate).
