OBJECTIVES:
Instructional Software
SYSTEM SOFTWARE
• Is the type of software which is the interface between the application software and
the system.
• It maintain the resources and allow the application software to run.
APPLICATION SOFTWARE
• Computer-based program that is designed to carry out some tasks that are group
together and help people in competing their work at faster speed.
• It runs on the platform which is provided by system software.
• A software that runs as per user request. A specific purpose software.
Operating System
• Is a type of system software that allow the user to run other application on a
computing device.
• Specialized software that controls and monitors the execution of all other programs
in the computer and other devices.
INSTRUCTIONAL SOFTWARE
Application software designed specifically to deliver or assist with students
instructional on a topic.
Instructional software programs include picture, sounds, animations and other
various stimuli used to enhance the developments of skill such as reading, writing
and problem solving.

CHARACTERISTICS:

• Sometimes give explanations of why answers are incorrect
2. TUTORIAL
• It is usually used as the unit of teaching and not as a supplement.
CHARACTERISTICS:
• Presents an entire instructional sequence and is complete rather than supplement
instruction.
3. SIMULATION
• Described as a computerized model of a real or imagined system that is designed to
teach how the system works.
CHARACTERISTICS:
• Models a real or imagery system

5. PROBLEM-SOLVING
• This is made up mostly of simulations and instructional games.
• Is used for providing opportunities to practice solving various kinds of content area
problems.

• Tools to help students solve problems.
• Problems to help develop component problem solving skills.
