Title of production: How fashion damages things

Topic: Fashion, environment, body image

What are you hoping to achieve through choosing this topic? Educating
people on how fashion is damaging things such as the environment and
body image. By doing this we are hoping to create a change to help stop
this problem by informing people on what is happening and how they can
prevent it. Also to entertain the target audience by making them interested in
the topic.

Factual programme concept: Our factual programme is discussing what

fashion damages such as the environment and body image. We will interview
a lady from a high end fashion branded second hand shop. We will ask her
opinions on how body image is effected by fashion and we will also ask her
opinions on fashion effecting the environment and how second hand
clothing is helping this. We will also include b-roll of shoppers and other
branded shops and their clothes. This will help show what we are talking
about. We might also show clips of a person looking at a fashion magazine to
represent the body image side to our documentary and how models are
affecting it.

Animation concept: The journey of an item of clothing showing how far our
clothes have to travel before they reach our wardrobes. I will use lego to
create this animation. I will use a lego person holding a t-shirt and they will
travel for miles across a dangerous journey to deliver the top to the customer.
He will travel through tricky situations and tiring times and I will edit text onto
the pictures to show how far he has travelled. He will finally reach his
destination and hand over the product. However the customer will then try
the t-shirt on and not like it so he throws it away showing that all that journey
time and air miles was a waste.

Short film concept: My short film will be about how fashion is damaging the
environment and people’s lives. I will have a person waking up and listening
to the radio to hear a story about people in Bangladesh dying from the work
place burning. I will then show this person changing the way they shop and
dress to try and help these people. They will give clothes to charity or second
hand shops and they will buy more expensive clothes that could be Fairtrade
and will be worn a lot of times. They will sort through all their clothes in their

wardrobe and give away any clothes they aren’t wearing. This will be an
interesting and factual short film which will interest the audience.
