Ohio Dominican University core question’s go along with diversity of not only the

classroom but also the community as well. Every core question gives people the ability to use

their personal experience and values in the classroom, so they are able to deeply understand the

material and have the critical thinking skills to answer certain questions. Whenever a question

arises in the class have to use my personal experience or even someone else personal experience

that I know, as well as my values to be a great student to accomplish the success that work so

hard to achieve. I believe the classroom, give not only me but also other students to gain life

work ethics and life experiences that could help me and anybody in the future. People’s core

value and experiences that people go through is what it means to be a human in this world. Being

a human does not mean we are perfect, so we as people cannot have this high expectation for us,

because at the end of the day we all make mistake.

Living in a community that is strong and positive can help promote good in the world in

the world. So, the next question, what does it mean to live in a community? When I think of a

community, I think of all the active members in the community rather they are the bad seed or

good people. Although the bad seeds of the community cause a disturbance, but they are still a

part of the community, just as much as the good people. Now, living in a community is not what
is important, its whether a member is active or not. Being an active member in a working

community is important to society, especially in classrooms, which are the students and teachers.

Everyone not just students and educators, everyone in the word must take full accountability for

every action they take. If people actually take responsibility for their actions, then they would

have clearer goals as a community and come together as community to have a positive outlook in

the community. So, then I ask what else does it take to be an active member. Whether if people

have different views in their community, people must respect other’s views regardless if people

agree with them or not. It is very valuable to hear someone else’s perspective because once a

person understands someone else’s point of view than they broaden their thinking because they

are not only using their point of view, but they can use another person’s perspective to go

through their personal experiences.

As a counselor, I would want to have high expectations for the students that comes to me,

so they can be not only active members in the community, such as their school but also in their

near future wherever they go. I will challenge the students to reach for the stars and push them to

limits I know they are capable of. I believe in anyone who has dreams and inspiration and I want

to push for them to achieve those goals, even if there are a few hiccups down the road, I want

my clients to be able to work through any trouble in their way to achieve their dreams. Setting

high expectation is important in life because, it gives people motivation to achieve their goals.

As a counselor, creating a positive perspective on parents and families makes the

community stronger. Each person comes from diverse backgrounds and having a positive

perspective on families will help with building a positive relationship with not only me as a

counselor or a positive relationship with anybody they surround their selves with. Counselors

building connections with their clients is very important when, helping clients, which in my case,
student, because the students have trust in me and are more receptive to wisdom or advice that I

give them. Counselors, and mostly teachers and parents have a huge impact on the students and

when we all come together to do what is best for the child, they will have a positive and valuable

experience through life to achieve their goals.

What is the truth for me as an educator, but in my case a counselor? As a counselor, I

want to make sure that my clients (students) are able to be self-motivated individual and build

positive relationships with not only with me but with anybody they encounter. I also want to help

my clients get inspired to be great not only in the classroom but also in life in general. It is my

job to try to make sure that my clients, if they do not feel comfortable with talking about their

goals and inspiration and put them on the right track to become whatever strong minded

individual, I know they can be. I want my clients to also feel that they are supported, if they not

have anybody else in their corner. If I could help my clients be great people and become active

member in the community, they will be great contributors in the future in our future community
