Dear Comrades

I write this mail with deep regret. I have noticed that there have been many of
you (without taking any names) who are not in the least bit interested in the pr
esentations related to Marketing. It has been my experience since the beginning
of the semester that basic formatting and creation of slides cannot be achieved
by most of you. It is extremely sad to note that we as management students (most
over the age of 21) cannot even create a basic presentation of the concept requ
ested and instead focus on displaying/analysing sometimes absolutely irrelevant
data, which at times does not even make any sense in relation to the Marketing c
oncepts that we have walked through with Prof. Banerjee. Others who are parts of
various committees find no reason to make the extra effort to also contribute t
o the group. I must remind each of you, while reminding myself again, that all r
esponsibilities undertaken besides the curriculum are VOLUNTARY responsibilities
that have been selected by you on the understanding that you will fulfil your a
cademic duties FIRST and ONLY THEN concentrate on the tasks of your respective c
ommittees. There has been a serious lack of effort from most of you to take ever
y presentation seriously, and for that matter ANY task assigned to you or that y
ou have VOLUNTARILY taken up. It is disheartening to realize that Management sch
ool has to be the GREAT leveller for the mix of us who come from vernacular back
grounds or perhaps some of the best known schools in the country. Let it be note
d that to me it doesn't matter where you came from or your past background. What
matters is your work ethic, and I'm thoroughly sad to say that I haven't seen i
t yet from most of you. I would further like to state that the future does not l
ook bright for Brand G.I.M if this continues, and urge each one of you to underg
o some serious training in English Grammar, POWER-POINT presentation creation te
chniques and very seriously UNDERSTAND or QUESTION marketing concepts that you D
O NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND till date. I have already spoken to various committees
and faculty with respect to starting certain initiatives for the same. Please re
gister for them as and when they begin with a view to atleast reaching a basic u
nderstanding of communication. From my side, in order to facilitate your develop
ment of the same, I have decided to play no further part in any of the formattin
g, editing, compiling of data in any future presentations, since I have seen rep
eatedly that my performance in all class tests conducted so far has been highly
unsatisfactory and utterly disgraceful. That said, I would like to congratulate
each of you on your performances in all tests held till date. For each of the re
maining presentations, please let me know my work package, delivery time and to
whom I have to submit my slide(s) to, and I will submit the same to the respecti
ve person. I am not in the least bit interested how the final product looks, and
will not defend it to the class or professor concerned. If any of you has any p
roblem with this arrangement please inform me so that I can address the concern
in the presence of Prof. Banerjee and any Professor in charge of Communication.
Thanks for understanding my sentiments. I still look forward to working with eac
h of you till the rest of the semester subject to the above terms, albeit with a
heavy heart. I have attached the Loyalty Programmes Presentation which will be
the LAST presentation formatted/edited/beautified/corrected/compiled by me.
Sincerely Yours
Gerard
