We are living in the world that is full of transformation

Where change is the only permanent thing

Where change is inevitable

Where change affects the society, economy, and even humanities

Look around on this place

Everything, yes! Everything

Everything was innovated

Buildings were innovated

Classrooms were innovated

Even educational materials were innovated

What I'm trying to say?

Oh, what we are trying to say?

As the world changes, so as the education

It started as why we are still a second year college students

Why we need to take those two college-like years

Or others would say two hell-like years

Hell week, hell days because they said this is

How those sleepless nights have begun

How these hands were exposed in those hard pressing buttons

How these eyes were started to get blurry because of the light from those digital screens

Others are complaining, asking and worst stopping

They considered this reformation as a burden.

As something that will just make everything arduous

As something that will worsen what is obvious

Then let me,me tell you a story,

How this woman grow as a stronger person than she can be

How this man is learning through the changing learning environment

How this woman adopts the transforming education system

How this man is conquering despite of the demands of the society

How this woman learned through the different learning activities

It all started as how this law was implemented saying Philippines' educational system needs to be
renovated

Those were the times that I’m just near of finishing my 6th grade

Those were the times that I'm just starting to learn how this so-called ‘Facebook' works, the social media
in short

I am one of the youths who was considered too young for labor works

That what I’ve done was not enough to become globally recognized

Filipino children who have a poor quality of education

That traditional way of learning is not enough for us to be on the top

Wait? Top or tough?

Reformation?

Others are complaining, memories of a 21st century learner sank in me

How she told her friends

Why it’s making us to feel that studies becomes stu-dies

Like we are behind the bars?

Preparation?

For 2-4 hrs. sleep? For lots of paper works to pass? For the additional years to conquer until it lasts?

Those were the times that I'm just starting to face the world full of changes

Societal change. Educational change.

Do you still remember your first reaction when the government implemented that?

That so called K to 12 curriculum where technology is considered as the medium?

“Robots" others are saying, we are just considered as an experiment for the future Philippines.

“K to 12" “Technology"

Reformation is the only key

For these two to utilize, For these two to be recognized

Seven years ago, “K to 12" was all I heard from the people around.

From the television and radio station. From the gossips that soonest became a fact.

“K to 12" makes you feel depressed

“K to 12” might force you to act even you are lack of it.

“K to 12" will tell you to make a business plan even though taking business course isn't your plan

“K to 12" might teach you to do 100 pages of research even though you don't know what you should
take.

“K to 12" sometimes will slap to your face that you are not enough.

“K to 12" might be something that motivates you just to “comply”

Despite of the struggles, challenges and tiring days, weeks, and months

“K to 12" taught me to become prepared

“K to 12" is a philosophy that encourage me to have a deeper understanding of the society

“K to 12" makes you think creatively.

“ K to 12" will make you to appreciate history.

“K to 12" will expose you to different activities

“ K to 12" will help you learn not just in 12 different ways but in your own way
“K to 12" is a combination of culture and reality.

“K to 12” will just expose you to different tests but not encouraging your dreams to be at rest.

So stay. Strive. Survive.

Do you still want to continue the story behind this poetry?

Soon, when this particular woman and man will finish as the pioneers of the K-12 curriculum and were
already teaching at the classroom.

Again STAY. STRIVE. SURVIVE.

“K to 12" will be our key to have a professional life.
