Engine 2S DF engine Operation


Advanced Course (5 Days)

1. Target group
This Engine 2-Stroke DF Operation (2-S DF O) training is intended for ship’s

crew, for marine engineering personnel watch keeping engineers and operators
with responsibilities related to daily shipboard operation of vessels, 2-stroke dual
fuel (DF) engine systems. This training is also suitable for superintendents and
fleet managers to get a good overview.

In addition, this training provides valuable information for licensees and


WinGD personnel.

2. Prerequisites
The trainees should have a good knowledge and operational experience of 2-
stroke Engines. Theoretical education on internal combustion engines is
preferred.

3. Objective
The participants will understand the design, operation and basic maintenance of
the engine. Target of the Engine 2-Stroke DF Operation course is that the
participants know the additions to the electronic controlled 2-stroke engines,
have detailed knowledge about dual fuel (DF) engine components, hydraulic &
pneumatic system, UNIC control system included hardware, operation modes
(Fuel/GAS), cylinder lubrication system and service aspects.

This Engine 2-Stroke DF Operation training contains simulator training.


After this training, the participants understand the function of a 2-stroke dual fuel
(DF) engine and its control. They will be able to operate a 2-stroke dual fuel (DF)
engine in a safe and economic way.

4. Course location
The location for the training course is at the WinGD Training Centre in Busan, Korea.

The course can be also arranged at other location, if training hardware is available.

Overview of design and function of 2S DF engine in general
Introduction into the 2S DF technology

2S DF Mechanical Components
- Rail Unit Parts
- Exhaust Valve and Valve Drive System
- Fuel injector (L-Orange injector)
- Supply Unit Parts (Fuel pump & Servo oil pump)
- Crank Angle Sensor Unit
- Gas related components – GVU, GAV, Pilot fuel injector, EWG valves, Knock
sensors

SIMULATOR TRAINING
Use of simulator for real situations and troubleshooting topics

8. Training fee covers


The trainees will get a training material for each training topic covered during the
training course with PDF files as hand-out, incl. Service Bulletins and engine manual
(for information only)
Lunch, coffee and tea are offered during the breaks.

For hands-on training overalls and safety shoes are supplied.

The local transport is included to the training fee.

9. Training material and teaching language


The basic tuition and training material language is English.

10. The price of the course

The price excludes accommodation and other travelling costs.

11. Cancellation policy


There is not cancellation fee if WinGD receives notification on non-attendance fourteen
(14) or more calendar days before the course starting date.

There is a fifty per cent (50% of course price) cancellation fee if WinGD receives the
non-attendance notification between fourteen (14) and seven (7) calendar dates before
the course starting date.

There is a one hundred per cent (100% full course price) cancellation fee if WinGD
receives the non-attendance notification less than seven (7) calendar days before the
course starting date.

12. Certification of Instructor

This training is conducted by an Instructor, who is certified according IMO ModelCourse


6.09 (Train the Trainer) and IMO Model Course 3.12 (Maritime Assessor Course /
STCW 95)
