ELECTRONICA
The Electronics and Circuits Category

MATLAB CHALLENGE: -
So you think you know Matlab? The Matlab Challenge will center on the functionality of one of the most popular languages
for technical computing today, Matlab. It will be a two round event, testing your technical engineering skills to the max!
Format
It is a two round event.
First Round
It is a written aptitude and logic test. Basic programming(C++) and algorithm skills will also be tested.

Second Round
It is a computer based test, where your skills in Matlab are tested with challenging problems!

Rules:

 Team event - Maximum two members per team.

 Decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Knowledge required –
Basic programming skills, knowledge of domains like signal processing, image processing and applied mathematics. The
questions are NOT restricted by these domains, which are specified just for your reference.

LOGIC QUEST
The ultimate test of your digital logic design skills. The participants will be tested through two challenging rounds of logic
design puzzles and circuits. Separate first round for first years.
STUDENT BRANCH , MANIPAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Problem statement:

The first round will be a mixed bag of questions in written format. The second round will be a surprise round, whose format
will be revealed only just before the round itself!

Rules:

 Team event - Maximum two members per team.

 Separate 1st Round for first years.

 Decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Knowledge Required :
Logic design topics like basic logic gates, multiplexers, adders and so on.

Shape Shifters
Can you shape the waveform?

Format
The event will be in two stages:

First is a written round, a general test of basic analog electronics and circuits.

The second round involves a race to be the first one to produce the desired output in the shortest time, using physical
components. A figure with specifications of the output (like time period, amplitude, frequency or duty cycle) will be given to
you. You have to design and solder a circuit to produce the stable, desired output.

Rules
 Team event, with maximum 2 participants
 Components and instruments(voltage supply, Oscillator, Oscilloscope) will be provided. QUALIFIERS TO THE SECOND
ROUND NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN SOLDERING EQUIPMENT.
 The team producing the stable, desired output in the shortest time wins.
 Non adherence to the rules can lead to disqualification.
 The decision of the judges\organizers is final and binding in all aspects .
