SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary of Findings

The salient findings of the following study:

1. The researchers conduct a study about alternative insecticide, using welcome plant

and garlic extract. They did the four treatments and every treatment there are also

three trials, and by trial they add another 5 ml of extract.

2. The total number of the exterminated cockroaches in treatment 1, 1st trial (5) and

2nd trial (8), 3rd trial (8) on treatment 2 ,1st trial (6), 2nd trial (10), 3rd trial (8). On

treatment 3, 1st trial (10), 2nd trial (10), 3rd trial (8). On treatment 4, 1st trial (7),

2nd trial (6), 3rd trial (10). The data shows that welcome plant extract has a

significant effect on the cockroaches.

3. Based from the rate of the cockroaches exterminated as the extract increases the

number of cockroaches exterminated also increases. This shows that there is a

relationship effect between the amount of extract and the mortality rate of the

cockroaches exterminated.

Conclusion

After the experimentation and gathering of the result, the following conclusion are

drawn:

1. In this study, the extract of welcome plant and garlic has a significant effect on the

mortality rate of cockroaches. The extract exterminated more than a half, with this

they conclude that the welcome plant extract can serve as an alternative insecticide

for the cockroaches.

2. The welcome plant with garlic extract has a significant effect in the cockroaches.

Therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected.

3. There is a positive correlation between the amount of extract and the mortality rate

of cockroaches. It means that to increase the number of exterminated cockroaches

there must be an increase in amount of aqueous extract. Therefore, the null

hypothesis is rejected.

Recommendation

Based on the result of the study, the following recommendation were drawn:

1. The researchers suggest adding sampaguita scent to the extract to eliminate the foul

odor.

2. The researchers recommended testing the welcome plant with garlic extract to

cockroaches in a wide or open are and not just in a jar. This is to determine if the

extract is still efficient under normal condition.

3. The researchers recommended to apply the extract to other species to determine the

effectiveness of the welcome plant insecticide.
