OPRE 6302: Operations Management

Course Objective Operations Management integrates all of the activities and processes that
are necessary to provide products and services. This course overviews
methods and models that help managers make better operating decisions
over time. We will also discuss how these methods will allow firms to
operate both manufacturing and service facilities in order to compete in a
global environment.

Prerequisites OPRE 6301 Quantitative Introduction to Risk & Uncertainty

Grading Method 75% Tests (15% each)


Each set of topics will be followed by a multiple choice test. All
tests are closed-book, closed-note, but a sheet of required
equations will be provided by your instructor. Plan in advance to
take these tests on these dates because NO MAKE-UP TESTS will
be scheduled.
15% Homework Assignments
Assignments will be given for each chapter or set of chapters.
These must be submitted by the beginning of class on the day that
they are due. NO LATE HOMEWORK will be accepted.
Homework should be submitted in hard copy.
10% Participation
Students are expected to attend class and participate in discussion.

Final Grades Students earning 85-100% of total points will earn an A, 82-85% at least a
B+, 75-82% at least a B, 72-75% at least a C+, 65-72% at least a C, 55-
65% at least a D, and <55% an F.
