Activity After learning and testing on each of the individuals
stated in the SOL, we will go back and review briefly.
The students will be given notes/handouts and we
will discuss the impact the people had on America
and how they changed the lives of Americans at the
start of the week of this project. For this
assignment, the students will use iPads provided by
the school and create a presentation/story on Little
Bird Tales StoryTelling app. They will draw pictures
of the individual they were given, and any other
objects associated with their impact on Americans.
The students will also add in some informational text
using their notes, to their presentation to discuss
how said individual changed America. They may do
this by adding in an information section typed out,
or by recording their voice for each slide.
The teacher will go over how to use the Story Telling
app with the class before they are given the
assignment. The teacher will also tell the students

to use their notes in their presentation.

This app can be downloaded for free from the App
store on iOS devices.
Once the students have completed their
presentation/story on said person, they will place
this assignment into their Google Drive account
using any device. The teacher will assign each
student a partner, the two students in each group
will share their presentation to the other student.
The student will critique and view the other students
work. They can provide helpful feedback on their
project.
The teacher will provide the students with a
checklist. As the students view their partner’s work,
they will check off what they have included in the
assignment. The student will hand back the
checklist to the person it goes to and the students
will then be able to correct what was wrong or
missing in their project. After correcting, each
student will present their presentation to the class.
