Listen and Do Lesson: Explain that you will give directions; your child will listen, look
at the paper and do what you say.

1. Look at the picture of the stockings, count them, how many are there?

2. How many purple stockings?

3. How many blue stockings?

4. How many red stockings?

5. How many green stockings?

6. Draw an X on the first stocking.

7. Draw a line under the last stocking.

8. Draw a ring around the second stocking.

9. Put your finger on the third stocking.

10. Draw a line on the fourth stocking.

Sit beside your child while you do this activity. Explain that he/she can count to find the
correct stockings. If necessary count and talk about the position in line before you begin,
explain that one is the same as first, two is the same as second, etc. Correct each answer
gently as you go along and explain if necessary.
