school library to choose a story to
read independently.
b. The students will be allowed to change
the setting and the character’s
descriptions, but must correctly
sequence the beginning, middle, and
ending events through voice narration
within Toontastic.
i. For example, if a child chooses the
Three Little Pigs, the story may be
told as the Three Little Sharks that
takes place underwater. The
events, however, may not be
altered.
1. The students will be placed into small
groups.
a. Each student will be asked to create a
video (1m30sec) that features an object
of their choice. However, the object
may not be visible in the video. The
students will describe the object using
only six physical property descriptions.
They will also describe the various
materials from which the object is
made.
b. Every group member will use the
student-to student feature within the
app to respond to one another’s video
post. Each member will be required to
submit at least one guess for each
member’s object.
c. Once all of the group members have
responded to one other – images of the
correct answer will be uploaded. The
students will then discuss the results
and explore reasons their guesses may
or may not have been accurate.
i. Are there many objects that
could have fit the description?
ii. Were there reasons why some of
the guesses could have absolutely
not been the object in question?
d. Finally, each group will collaborate
using the Topic feature. The students
will upload a photo of the object and

build a comprehensive list of physical

property descriptions using the Prompt
feature. Each group will present their
collaboration to the class.
