Indo-European Skilling Centers for

Mechatronics & Industrial Robotics

Intention and Vision:
European Center for Mechatronics APS GmbH partner to ITA RWTH Aachen University along
German Center for Advanced Engineering Studies has taken initiative to develop the
mechatronics eco system in India which will support the industrial requirements from
academic level.
Emphasis on Robotics in India

Following the government’s investment of $13

billion in robotics under its Make in India
initiative in 2015, the robotics sector has seen
a significant boost in terms of job growth.

In fact, India’s use of robotics is currently

growing at 12 percent, almost twice that of
the global rate.

Years Ahead ……
Skills of the future

According to a research by McKinsey Global Institute,

52 per cent of the activities in India can be automated
by using currently demonstrated technologies in the
future.

This implies that the skilling ecosystem should undergo

a paradigm shift to cater to the ‘skills of future' as well
as to ensure that enough jobs are created for that chunk
of young population who is below in the skills ladder.
Word from the market
“Companies look for niche talent in robotic process automation, but applicants on job portals
have little relevant experience. We have a 1% probability of finding the right fit suiting the
demands of the organisations” – Kamal Karanth, Co-Founder, Xpheno.

“even among college students, we look for people who have worked on at least a couple of
projects. The syllabus seems to have chapters dedicated to Robotics but they are mostly solely
academic.” – Sneha Priya, Co-Founder, SP Robotics.

“The experience they have is mostly lacking in

Innovation” – Eshwar K Vikas, CEO, Mukunda Foods.

The best way to learn robotics is to work on live

projects which involve an amalgamation of software,
mechanical, electronics, and firmware engineering.
