I. Rationale
In pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 “Declaring the Month
of October of every year as National Statistics Month (NSM), schedule of
activities is set for this year’s celebration to be spearheaded by the
Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) which revolves on the theme, “Data
Innovation: “Key to a Better Nation”.

Relative to this, Division of Agusan del Sur calls all Public and Private
Junior High Schools to conduct a Municipal Level Statistics Quiz and Data
Cartooning.

As one of the barangay in the Municipality of Prosperidad, Mabuhay

National High School Mathematics teachers trained students to compete the
said activity.

II. Objectives
This year’s National Statistics Month celebration include:
a. To promote the importance of statistics;
b. To enhance the awareness of the value of statistics among the
sectors of the society, and
c. Elicit support and cooperation of the general public in upgrading the
quality and standards of statistics in the country.
III. Description
This activity will be participated by the public and private Junior High
Schools in the Municipality of Prosperidad. The said activity would conduct
a Statistics Quiz and Data Cartooning and the first placers in the municipality
will join in the Division Level contest on October 7, 2019

IV. Methodologies

The teachers from different schools in the Municipality of Prosperidad

were given task by the Municipal Spokesperson assigned by the Division
Mathematics Coordinator, the following are:

After the activities, closing program and awarding of winners will

follow.

V. Operating Details
The One-Day Municipal Statistics Quiz and Data Cartooning Contest“
will happen on September 27, 2019. The said activity will be participated by
the public and private Junior High Schools in the Municipality of
Prosperidad.
