The double-eccentric construction offers advantages in applications with
high pressure and temperature loads.
Top flange conforms to EN/ISO 5211 Monobloc body with overrunning safety device. Straight-through shaft for maximum flexural rigidity. The shaft is carried in maintenance-free, excess-length, corrosion- proof and temperature-stable PTFE bearings. This ensures exact
positioning of the valve disc.
Spring-supported PTFE seat ring guarantees absolute tightness
and compensates for wear. Replacement of the seat ring without
dismantling shaft and valve disc. Clamping ring protects seat ring from abrasion and erosion. Fittangentially and proper connection between disc and shaft by means of arranged taper pins.
Hardened bearing rings for exact centering of the valve disc.
Valve disc located in double-eccentric bearings results in low
torque and reduces wear. All sealing surfaces are mechanically microfinished.
Self-readjusting shaft seal.

SUMMARY OF PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
Top flange conforms to EN/ISO 5211.
EBRO Butterfly valves comply with the requirements of the Heating System Regulations dated May 1998.
The one piece disc/shaft with centric bearing is safe against expulsion and, including the whole safety sealing, PTFE-coated. The virgin PTFE-coating of the disc is 3 mm in thickness as a minimum.
The shaft is carried in triple, maintenance-free bearings. The proven design of the sealing between the valve disc and the body liner ensures safe long-term operation due to the lack of critical transistional zones.
Double sealing at both shaft passages as standard.
Primary sealing (= main sealing) Transmitting prestress by means of a maintenance-free Belleville spring washer assembly. Secondary sealing (= EBRO safety sealing) is achieved by a matching cobination of PTFE gaskets and additional O-Rings.
The PTFE seal is isostatically pressed and PTFE-coated with a mi-
nimum thickness of 3 mm (see picture 2). The wide chambered sealing serves as a double-sided sealing of the flange.
Due to its design, the inner contour of the body ensures optimi- zed contact pressure of the resilient elastomer. An opening and closing unnecessary loads which affect the liner are avoided.

The liner has a stable design.
The faying surfaces of the shaft sealing are isostatically pressed.
The operational surfaces of the shaft sealing are mechanically
machined to fit accurately. Due to the lack of recovery violent adaption damages PTFE which is generally avoided by this construction.
The sealing surface without critical transitional zones ensures
perfect 360° sealing of the passage area. Kv-Values as well as opening and closing torques are optimized, long service life is guarenteed.

SUMMARY OF THE PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
The shaft safety device prevents inadvertant shaft removal when
fitting actuators or undertaking maintenance procedures.
EBRO Butterfly valves comply with the requirements of the
Heating System regulations dated 1st June 1994.
The special construction of the liner* (incorporating location
beads for positioning within the body to prevent „working“ in
operation) efficiently seals against the medium, the shaft locations and the connecting pipeworks flanges. Supplementary gasket seals for the adjacent flanges are not required.
The sealing surface of the disc being mirror finished guarentees the benefit of low operating torque and tight valve sealing up to the maximum working pressure 16 bars. This design gives high flow characteristics. The valve body is completely precision machined in order that the valve liner with shaft locations can be accurately positioned to ensure minimal operational wear and an extended reliable service life.
The shaft is carried in multiple bearings with shaft deflection due to
high pressure being prevented, thus ensuring optimal guidance,
positive location and long service life.

Around the centre of the whole circumference of the liner is a
raised locating ring to engage with an corresponding recess in the valve body, thus assuring the exact position of the liner.
Positive location and retention of the liner within the body is by means of circumferential lug profiles on the liner with
matching recesses in the body.
The collars at the shaft locations ensure accurate positioning
of the liner within the valve body (sizes DN 250 and larger have an integral vulcanized in steel ring).
The end connection sealing faces of the liner have a convex
form. During assembly of the valve into the pipeline controlled deformation of the volume of the liner achieved when clam- ping between flanges (see picture 1). This controlled deforma- tion restricts any increase in operating torque and eliminates damage to or destruction of the elastomers. picture 2
