Reflection

- This worked well on the first day of classes with the students, ice breakers and name games went smoothly
as well as the students making title pages for me to see.
- Throughout the practicum it was evident that I became a positive role model to these students. I liked
being around them and I made that obvious from the first day. I enjoyed spending time with them. I
completely believe I exceeded expectations with this goal. The students made this practicum so fun and
rewarding that the hard work and long nights made it all worth it. I believe that I left in a high note.

Goal # 2

What is in a name? (Aboriginal names)  Learning Circles 1 class

Reflection

This did not happen as well as I wanted to. Due to the simple fact that I was taking care where my teacher left off in
her science and Math classes. There was nothing I could do with symmetry and wheels and levers. I decided to
integrate FNMI culture into my Gym lesson. I added hockey and lacrosse as a put together unit where I could explain
why FNMI culture is involved in the sport and how history reveals the importance of both sports with FNMI culture.

This school did not have many FNMI students but there was an FNMI staff who was at the school on a daily basis. He
helps out with FNMI integration and through him and the gym teacher. We agreed to integrate this onto my gym
lessons. The students had an idea of FNMI culture and why it is important in Canada.

Goal #3
- To integrate technology into the classroom that is able to provide a fun learning
environment for all students. For example: Google Classroom, Remind, Google Earth.

 Formative assessment indicates that students understand how to use your management tech
tools
 Students learning how to research, based on their actions while using technology.
 Students show signs of learning by formative assessment feedback
Action Resource(s) Timeline
 Remind
 Google Classroom or ClassDojo,
Technology Management Tools (this will depend on what the TA
already has set up in her All 5 weeks
classroom. On a general note, I
would use ClassDojo in my
future classrooms)
 Games, activities that will
require the use of the Smart All 5 weeks
Smart Board (How to use it)
Board.
Computer Games
 Math Games 1-2 classes

Reflection

- Youtube videos and the SmartBoard became a norm for me to use in the classroom. I was not able to use
programs like ClassDojo or Remind because I was only here for five weeks and it would have been for me to
do that when I barely knew the students myself, let alone their parents. I would have liked to do more but
the time fell short. I used online integration into the classroom by using visuals and videos. It was the best
way to integrate technology in this class. Students work very well with visuals and the YouTube videos
some of my lessons had.
