Learning and Development Center) was a wonderful experience. I have learned a lot from that institution,
especially in the subjects they have offered and have been lectured for us student trainees.
On first month of our training, the In-House Training, all we did was to study as if we are just in
school. The GBFI-LDC conducted lectures and discussions about the basics of several fundamental
subjects. The GBFI-LDC also gave handouts and books on the purpose of review in preparation for the
examination (last day of the in-house training, August 4) after all the subjects have taken.
The second part of my On-Job-Training Activity was the In-Plant Training. From GBFI-LDC, I was
assigned to be in RLC (Robinsons Land Corporation) at Robinsons Place – Galleria, Ortigas Ave. Quezon
City. The in-plant training has started on August 5 and ended on October 6, 2010. Below are some
activities that I have done for the past two months at the RLC together with my co-trainees:
I. Visiting and Observing some of Authorized Areas in the RP-Galleria Mall such as:
Roof Deck: Cooling Towers (Systems 1, 2, 3 and 4), chiller unit, Chilled Water Pump,
and Condensed Water Pump, air-cooled condensers, and exhaust outlets.
Basement 2: O&MD (Operations and Maintenance Department), Fire Pump Station,
Chiller Systems/ units, and Generator Sets.
STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) of RP-Galleria at Basement 1.
V. Assigned tasks given by our Immediate Supervisor and Trainers such as:
Designing/Estimation of Ductworks and Tabulation of Air-conditioning units;
Inspection of ACCU (Air Cooled Condensing Units) and AHU (Air Handling Unit); Re-
estimation of in-house evaluation; Heat Load Calculation (Measuring of Floor Area
and Equipment/Lighting Survey); Data Gathering (DB & WB Temperature using a
digital Psychrometer, and Air Volume Displacement using a digital
Anemometer/velometer); Canvassing for the price of certain equipment/unit (phone
or actual survey).
the field of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning). My two months in RLC-Galleria was an
unforgettable experienced. I met amazing people, and I also able to try new things.
The On-Job-Training Program had provided me an access to attain a great quality of education
by development of work through partnership with the institution in which I have been trained of.
The training I have experienced made to become capable of doing jobs effectively and efficiently,
principally in the field of Mechanical Engineering. I also become better prepared and responsible, and in
The On-Job-Training course serves as an instrument for me to harness and enhance my social
benefits towards development and progress for the Participating Company, for the University, and for me,
