The purpose of this paper is to address the importance of the Praxis exam, what I did to
prepare for the practice Praxis exams, how well I did on my practice core Praxis exams, and
what I will do to better prepare myself for the real Praxis Exams.
Exam Requirements
Based on my understanding of the Praxis exams, it is required for students to pass the
Praxis I core exams before they can be fully accepted into their Bachelor’s degree programs. It is
important for students to pass the Praxis I first so that they are prepared for the course material
that is taught within the Bachelor program courses. It is also used to make sure that students have
the basic knowledge of academic skills that are necessary to be a teacher. Passing the Praxis
exams is proof that you have the skills needed to be a successful teacher.
The passing scores for the Praxis Exams in Nevada vary from subject to subject. The
passing score for the reading portion of the test is 156. The math portion of the Praxis test
requires a score of 150 to pass. Finally, a student needs to earn a score of 162 to pass the writing
Exam Preparation.
While I did some studying for the practice Praxis exam, I could have done a lot more than
I did. I briefly went over the links that I was given to help me study for the practice exam, as I
only saw the test as a practice run and not the actual thing. I did not use the Praxis Prep websites
or the ETS practice questions. I did, however, read about the Praxis exams so that I had some
idea of what it would be like. After seeing my score for the practice exam, I am wishing that I
spent a few hours going over the material that was provided to me. I didn’t even look at the
practice ETS questions for the exams but wish that I had taken the time to complete the practice

questions for each portion of the test. I believe that by doing so I would have done much better

I scored a total of 57% on the reading section of the exam, which means that I need
improvement if I am to pass this section of the official Praxis exam. In Math, my score was 78%
which means that I am borderline to passing the official exam. This means that I am almost to
the point where I would earn a passing score in the subject, but that I need a little more
improvement to get there. For the writing portion I scored 68%, which also means that I am
borderline to passing. Based on my scores, I think it is safe to say that I need significant
improvement in the reading section, and some improvement in the math and writing portions of
the exam.
pass the official Praxis exam. In order to prepare for the official exams, I need to come up with a
plan that will help me sufficiently study enough so that I pass. In order to help me study and
prepare, I plan on purchasing an online program and book to help me work on the area I need
improvement in. I think that the practice courses and a study book will help me get a better idea
of what to expect from the Praxis exams, as well as help me learn a better, more efficient way of
taking the test. Not only that, but I also want to find someone that might be able to help me study
for this exam in creative ways (i.e. flashcards, quizzes, or some sort of game) that might help me
learn the needed material to pass. If all else fails, I will hire a tutor in hopes that they can help me
