OVERALL RANKINGS
The 2019 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® rankings measure employee engagement government-wide as
well as at 490 individual departments, agencies and subcomponents. The annual rankings, produced by the Partnership for
Public Service and BCG, provide a means of holding leaders accountable for the health of their organizations, shining the
spotlight on agencies that are successfully engaging employees as well as on those that are falling short. In 2019, the federal
government-wide Best Places to Work employee engagement score is 61.7 out of 100, a 0.5-point decrease from 2018.
The overall rankings are determined by an agency’s Best Places to Work employee engagement score. The score is
derived from three questions in the Office of Personnel Management’s Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. Visit
