How to use the Search option in Smart Viewer 3
1. Log into the software
a. Default log in :
• ADMIN
• 4321
2. Once the software is open, connect to your DVR.
3. click on the search button indicated on the right side of the GUI next to the LIVE tab:

Select the device you wish to connect


to and press connect button

4. Once the Search Screen is open, it shows the screen below.

A. This is your calendar: Dates shaded in Blue represent data.


B-C Your timeline is broken up into a 24 hour period. You can change the time of playback by either manipulating the boxes
(B) or moving the blue vertical bar (C) to the desired time you wish to playback. The traditional play, pause, Fast
Forward, Rewind, buttons are below for playback.
D. You may increase the size of the timeline using the + or – buttons and use the slider to set the vertical time bar, to a
more accurate setting. You will see a small arrow appear next to the + icon if you increase the size. This moves to the
next hour.

NOTE: Only 4 cameras may be played back simultaneously

How to use the backup option in Smart Viewer 3
 
1. Log into the software
a. Default log in :
• ADMIN
• 4321
2. Once the software is open, connect to your DVR.
3. Click on the Search Tab indicated on the right side of the GUI next to the LIVE tab:

Select the device you wish to connect


to and press connect button

**You are only able to backup 1 camera at a time


1. Choose the Camera you want backup from the drop down box.
2. Enter your START TIME-END TIME and choose where you want to save the
file on your computer.
3. Press Start to Begin the Backup process.
4. Once the backup is complete, you will have an icon in the location where you
saved the file.
(C:\Program Files\Samsung\SmartViewer3.0\Record)
5. Double-click that icon to bring up the backup
viewer.

NOTE: At this time, only proprietary backup viewer


can be performed.

How to access the menu of the DVR in Smart Viewer 3
 
1. Log into the software
1. Default log in :
• ADMIN
• 4321
2. Once the software is open, connect to your DVR.
3. Click on the setup button indicated on the right side of the GUI next to the LIVE tab:

Select the device you wish to connect


to and press connect button

4. You will see the following screen.

** The DVR you are connected to should already be listed under Device on the left side
of the window. (Other devices are connected they will show but will be grayed out)

5. Click on the Device menu setup button on the bottom of the screen to access the
menu of the DVR.

Complete – You should have access to your DVR menu

How to add a DVR to Smart Viewer 3
1. Log into the software
a. Default log in :
• ADMIN
• 4321
2. Click on the setup button indicated on the right side of the GUI next to the LIVE tab:

3. You will see the following screen.

4. To add a DVR to the device list, click on


device register button. (represented by
the arrow) An Add Device box (shown below)
appears. From the drop down list, first choose the
model of your unit, then the Address Type. Enter
the static IP address you assigned the unit locally,
(or your remote WAN address once port forwarding
has been done), the port number, the ID and the
Password of the DVR.

5. Run a connection test to verify if the connection is good.


6. Once verified, click register.
7. Close the screen to save.

Optional:
The Group box is optional if you want to connect to more than 1 DVR at a time.
To do this, register all your DVRʼs by repeating steps 1-5, and then select the DVR from the device list and press the
arrow in the middle of the boxes to move the DVRʼs to the group:
• You are limited to 4 devices per group.

To connect once on the main GUI in the drop down list, choose the DVR or group and press the connect button, and
then drag your cameras to the camera cells:
