The aim of the study is to assess the effects of ASI Motivator Group
implementation of lactation management knowledge of pregnant women
and breastfeeding mothers.
The research was conducted in Baruga Sayang District of
Bontorannu Mariso Village, Makassar City. The research method was
experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. Number of
respondents were 15 persons wich consists of 5 ASI Motivators, 5
pregnant women and 5 breasfeeding mothers. The research approach
was quantitative with questionnaires and qualitative with indepth interview.
Education and training intervention of lactation management was analyzed
with Wilcoxon Signed Rank test.
The results of the research indicated that there is an increase of
knowledge of ASI Motivator Group on lactation management as much as
12%. Criteria of breastfeeding observation skill of ASI Motivator Group is
60% skillful and 40% unskillful, meanwhile of the pregnant women and
breastfeeding mothers there is an increased of knowledge of lactation
management as much as 37% . This is corelated to qualitative data which
indicated that there is an increase knowledge of ASI Motivator Group of
pregnant women and breasfeeding mothers.
