Within a few years of obtaining a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from KCT Business
School, the recent graduate

Course Description This course introduces students to the basics of Human Resource Management.
As a part of the course the students will develop his conceptual knowledge
towards Recruitment, Selection, Training and Development, Induction,
Performance management, Compensation, Employee separation and Exit
interviews. The course also helps the students to get an understanding about
Industrial Relations, Trade unions, Ethics in HR. Furthermore the course also
enlightens students on the Global trend of HR and the Growing use of
Information technology in the field of HR and Effective engagement of HR.
Upon completion of the course students should be able to anticipate and resolve
human resource concerns.

 Introduce the basic concepts, structure and functions of the HR system.

ANNEXURE I (a) - Field study details

Assignment for 20 marks

Students in a group of three will visit an organisation of their choice, they have to meet the HR
and discuss their organisations HR policies and current practices. Should get a copy of the
same/standing orders. The students can video record their interaction with the HR and should get
the HRs visiting card and present their learnings in the form of

1) PPT presentation (10 marks)

2) Report Submission (10 marks)

To Do Things before Visit

 The students team should fix up an appointment with the Concerned HR

 The student team get permission for video recording their interaction from the HR.

 The student team should inform the concerned course facilitator regarding their visit a
week before with the name of the organisation and the person concerned to meet.

Things to be strictly followed.

 Only after receiving the course facilitator’s permission, the students can meet the HR.

 Permission for meeting the HR will not be given during their class hours.

 Neither the students should absent themselves from any other class to meet the HR.
