As a trusted member of the United We Dream Action family, I am writing to share

some important news about the future of our network.

I have been fighting for justice with immigrant youth for the last 15 years and I am
so proud to have served our beautiful community of freedom fighters as Executive
Director for 9 of them. In that time, we have achieved amazing things together and
have built a home for activism that is led by immigrant youth.

After several years of planning, I have decided to begin a one-year transition

from my role as Executive Director of United We Dream and United We
Dream Action. United We Dream Action is stronger than ever and I want to be
sure that our next executive leadership is set up to succeed.

This year, we are going to fight with everything we have to defeat the white
supremacists who have taken control of our government. And next year, our
nation will face a new set of political realities and our network will have a solid new
executive leadership in place which is ready to lead.

Like everything we do at United We Dream Action, our process to identify new

leadership will be led by immigrant youth. Working with our Board of Directors, we
have developed an inclusive and open process to select our new leadership and
support them to lead.
 As an organizer, I know that training the next generation of leaders is the most
important thing that we do. Today, we have already trained over 60,000 immigrant
youth in organizing, have stopped deportations and have won systematic change.

We did all of this already and I can’t wait to see the victories we will win in our next
chapter.
