This summary is taken from the words spoken directly to A.A.

Allen from
the Lord telling him what was required of him if he was to walk in the
power of God like Jesus and the apostles did.

1) Matthew 10:24 “The disciple IS NOT ABOVE HIS MASTER, nor the
servant above his Lord” If the disciple could attain the same results that
Jesus did without paying the same price which Jesus paid, then it would
have to be confessed that the disciple had become greater than his master.
The student would have learned a better, more efficient method than that
taught by the Lord Jesus Christ.

If the Lord Jesus rose up very early in the morning to pray; if He fasted and
waited on God in prayer so the He could hear God and be in union with His
Father, then we should not think that we could have a very close walk with
God without doing what Jesus did. If He was persecuted and lied about
because He walked in union with His Father, then we should not think that
we will be without persecution and slander. We must be willing to walk the
walk He walked.

2) Luke 6:40 “The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is
perfect shall BE AS HIS MASTER.” If we are to be like Him in power, we
must also be like Him in holiness, in consecration, in meekness and in
compassion. We must be like Him in prayer and in fellowship with the
Father. We must be like Him in faith. We must be like Him in self-denial.
“ He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He
walked.” 1 John 2:6 “Everyone that is perfect shall be as his Master”
Luke 6:40
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an
example, that you should follow His steps” 1 Peter 2:21

3) Matthew 5:48 “Therefore BE PERFECT, EVEN AS YOUR FATHER

WHO IS IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT.” Genesis 17:1-2 “When Abram was
ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am
Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My
covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.’”
Deuteronomy 18:13 “You shall be blameless before the Lord your God.”

1
2 Cor. 7:1 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse
ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the
fear of God.” 1 Peter 1:15-16 “But as He who called you is holy, you also
be holy in all your conduct because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
John 14:30b “for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in
Me.” James 1:4 “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be
perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

4) 1 Peter 2:21-23 For to this you were called (to do good and suffer for it
and take it patiently vs19-20), because Christ also suffered for us,
LEAVING US AN EXAMPLE, that you should FOLLOW HIS STEPS: 22
“Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth”;23 who, when
He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not
threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

1 John 3:6a “Whoever abides in Him does not sin.” 1 Cor. 15:34 “Awake
to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of
God. I speak this t o your shame.” 1 Peter 2:22 “Neither was guile
(cunning, deceit) found in His mouth Jesus healed by His Word.” (Matthew
8:16) “His Word was with power” Luke 4:32 If our words are to be with
power, we must talk as He talked. Luke 4:22a “So all bore witness to Him,
and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth.”

5) Luke 9:23 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him DENY
HIMSELF, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

Will you come after Him? Will you do the works He did? Then wait in His
presence and let Him speak to your soul about the things of self which have
not yet been denied. Let His life of self-denial be your pattern, and you are
well on the way to sharing in His MIRACLE-WORKING POWER.

6) Luke 9:23 “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and
TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY and follow Me.”

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who

2
for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Moses “took up his cross” when he turned away from the throne of Egypt to
identify himself with his brethren, a race of slaves, that he might, through
suffering and sacrifice, bring deliverance to them all. (Heb. 11:24,26)

Paul was following Jesus, bearing his cross, when he declared “And see,
now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will
happen to me there, 23 except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city,
saying that chains and tribulations await me. 24 But none of these things
move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race
with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to
the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:22-24

7) “I MUST DECREASE” JOHN 3:30 The apostles decreased and gave
glory to God. ““Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this (healing miracle)?
Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we
had made this man walk? 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has
made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which
comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of
you all.” Acts 3:12,16 “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of
anything as being f rom ourselves, but our sufficiency is f rom God.” 2 Cor.
3:5 “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles
himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11 “God resists the proud but gives grace
to the humble.” James 4:6

8) “HE MUST INCREASE” John 3:30 A.A. Allen writes “The only way
that God could increase in my life to the point where He would be working
through me in power, was for me to keep everything out from between me
and God. The only way He could remain the great “I AM” in my own
experience, was for me to continually walk in the light of His Word, by the
power of His Spirit, DECREASING day by day, becoming more and more
absorbed in Him who must INCREASE. He MUST increase! Not ‘could
increase’ or ‘might increase’. He must increase in glory, and majesty and
power. He must increase in control of my life.” Gal. 2:20a “I have been
crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me”

3
9) Matthew 12:36 “But I say to you that for every IDLE WORD (useless
words) men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”

Proverbs 10:19 “In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who
restrains his lips is wise.” Jesus said “The words that I speak to you are
spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63) What are your words? Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for
necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” Colossians
4:6 “Let your speech be always with grace seasoned with salt” 1 Peter
4:11a “If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God”.

10) Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you PRESENT YOUR BODIES A LIVING SACRIFICE, holy,
acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” A.A. Allen writes
“An acceptable consecration is like handing God a blank paper, with your
name signed at the bottom, and saying, ‘Fill it in any way you want. That
shall be my contract for the use of my entire life’. You must present your
body, a living sacrifice, HOLY, acceptable to God.”

11) 2 Peter 1:4 “by which have been given to us exceedingly great and
precious promises, that through these you may be PARTAKERS OF THE
DIVINE NATURE”.

John 14:10 “The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own; but
THE FATHER WHO DWELLS IN ME DOES THE WORKS.” John
15:4-5b “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of
itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me;
for WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.” We partake of the Divine
Nature as we manifest the fruit of the Spirit. 1 John 4:16 “God is love. He
that abides in love abides in God and God abides in him.” Philippians
1:9-11 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in
(supernatural words of) knowledge and all (gifts of) discernment, 10 that you
may approve the things that are excellent (opposite of fault finding), that
you may be sincere (genuine love) and without offense till the day of Christ,
11
being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to
the glory and praise of God.
