Dear  Educator:

Thank  you  for  downloading  my  “Let’s  Learn:    Classifying  Living  Things”
organizer.    I  hope  it  is  a  help  to  you  in  your  classroom.

When  teaching  my  middle  school  students  how  to  classify  organisms  I  always
start  by  poinEng  these  three  important  characterisEcs:

1.  Unicellular  vs.  MulEcellular
2.  Autotrophic  vs.  Heterotrophic
3.  ProkaryoEc  vs.  EukaryoEc

This  helps  them  understand  why  organisms  are  placed  into  the  three
different  domains  and  then  into  the  six  different  kingdoms.

An  answer  key  has  been  included.

I  generally  do  not  require  students  to  label  the  cell  illustraEon  at  the  boQom
of  the  organizer.    It’s  a  preQy  Eght  fit  when  it  is  hand  drawn.

If  you  have  any  quesEons  or  suggesEons  please  email  me  at
ahousecalledhome@gmail.com

Thank  you,
Jennie  Sulfridge
