Summary: As the voting season comes to an end the senate must decide on whether or not to
pass President Obama’s US-Russia Nuclear Arms Treaty. On April 2010 President Obama went
to Moscow, Russia, and met up with Russian President Demitry Medvedev. The treaty stated
that both US and Russia would cut 1/3 of all nuclear weapons deployed in exchange for the US’
unwavering security to its allies. Controversies rose immediately in the senate with the
Democrats agreeing, and the Republicans disagreeing. The Democrats believed that the treaty
would support The Non-Proliferation Act, and committee chairman John Kerry, Massachusetts,
Democrat, believed it would be essential to the security of the nation. Republicans on the other
hand believe that the treaty does not adequately state Russia’s side to this, and the question on
whether or not they will stand by it. The senate and the Obama Administration must be able to
Commentary: If the treaty does not clearly state the consequences for Russia if they don’t abide
to the rules then the treaty should not be passed. In politics it is clear that if you don’t think
there’s a way you will find one. If we have politicians doubting the trustworthiness of Russia,
then if we do pass the treaty, we need to make sure that it will prevent that from happening.
When it comes to the outcome of the treaty I have to side with the Republicans, the Democrats
although have a logical reason to pass it as well. The number 1/3 doesn’t seem as big, but when
you really look at it 1/3 is a plenty. To think that 1/3 of nuclear arms would be kept away is a
big jump in American history. The Nuclear Arms Race against Russia during the Cold War was
a terrifying time for Americans, but should we begin trusting the Russia now? To make the
decision you have to think of it as one of two things: either we pass it and it increases national
Summary: Just recently political novice Christine O’Donnell, Delaware, Republican, beat 9-
term Republican Representative Mike Castle for the opportunity to run for mid-terms and for a
seat in the senate. Castle who served as governor for two terms was the popular pick for senate,
but this sudden turn of events shocked the political society. It was said that O’Donnell had

received the support of the Sacramento- based Tea Party Express, and as well as Sarah Palin who
both reportedly assisted O’Donnell’s financial needs including endorsement, etc. Later reports
stated that O’Donnell had misused the money for her campaigns by spending it on groceries,
clothing, and other personal needs. The question has risen on whether or not O’Donnell is fit for
the seat, although her shabby personal financial record proves that she is “unelectable in the
general election”, O’Donnell still believes she could win the mid-term elections coming up
Commentary: Christine O’Donnell ran for a seat in the senate, but why? The words “shabby
personal financial record”, “unelectable in the general election”, and especially the word
“novice” explain it all. Christine O’Donnell is not fit to help run this country. If a person can
barely do his or her bills, how do we expect them to pass some? In order for someone to be able
to help build a country they must be built first, and politically O’Donnell has not reached that
point yet.
Now Mike Castle who has had previous political experience should have received the
vote of the people. But O’Donnell was able to gain the support of Sarah Palin, who by some is
loved because of her recent involvement in the Presidential Election. O’Donnell also was able to
receive money from the Sacramento- based Tea Party Express, so money really wasn’t an issue
for her. But the fact that she spent some of it on personal use must be reviewed because stealing
(which is basically what she did) is a crime. Palin was also assisting O’Donnell in her
endorsements and was able to get that small percentage of working-class women to ‘look up’ to
O’Donnell, and in the end that was what broke the race.

The state of Delaware has chosen a very unlikely candidate for the seat, but what is also
intriguing is how much the people knew, or lack thereof, of the candidates, because if they did
then why go with the worst one? If the Delaware community knew of O’Donnell’s financial
issues why choose her? If they knew of her lack in politics then why allow her to be involved?
These hypothetical questions could never be answered, but it would be nice to get some sort of
reassurance that the American Population actually tries to choose those best fit for our country.
Summary: Rapper T.I., real name Clifford Harris, was arrested in early September for
possession of fire arms and illegal drugs. It was said that the rapper made an illegal U-turn and
was pulled over, and the officer at the scene said they found what seemed to be pills filled with
an unknown substance. T.I. is sentenced for a hearing soon before a federal judge in Atlanta. It
is also said that T.I. violated three parts to his bond: possession of ecstasy, testing positive for
Commentary: It’s a shame what fame can push someone to do. We read the news and we see
all our favorite artists going to jail, and being accused of stupid things. Honestly how difficult
can it be to follow a couple of guidelines for a time being? Whatever happens to T.I. he should

understand it was because of his own actions. He was warned of the consequences and was
aware of the rules he needed to follow, but he simply just didn’t do it. Also what does this to his
sales? Does he not realize that he being arrested affects his fans. If these artists really cared
about the fans they wouldn’t do these immature acts, because they should realize that they are
