Alhamdulillah, puji syukur kami panjatkan atas kehadiran Allah SWT

yang telah membarikan rahmad dan karunia-Nya sehingga kami dapat menyusun
makalah ini dengan baik dan tepat pada waktunya tanpa ada halangan suatu
apapun. Dalam makalah ini kami membahas mengenai Boof of purification (at-
thaharah)

Makalah ini dapat terselesaikan tentunya tidak lepas dari peran semua
pihak, baik dari segi material maupun spiritual. Oleh karena itu, kami
mengucapkan terima kasih yang se besar besarnya kepada semua pihak yang telah
membantu dalam penyusunan makalah ini.

UNDERSTANDING THAHARAH

Thaharah according to language means purification. According to syara 'or

the term is to cleanse themselves, clothing, places, and other objects from the
unclean and hadas in ways that are determined by Islamic law.1

Thaharah or purification is a mandatory requirement that must be done in

several types of worship. As in Surah Al-Maidah verse: 6 [5: 6] O you who
believe, if you want to pray, wash your face and your hands up to the elbows, and
sweep your head and (wash) your feet up to your ankles, and if you are junub then
take a shower, and if you are sick or on a journey or return from a place of toilet
(toilet) or touch a woman, then you do not get water, then count with good soil
(clean); sweep your face and your hands with the land. God does not want to
trouble you, but He wants to cleanse you and perfect His favors for you, so that
you will be grateful.

Thaharah or purification according to its division can be divided into two

parts, namely:

A. Washing outwardly

Some examples that are outwardly are cleaning themselves, living quarters
and the environment from all forms of filth, hadas and unclean. Cleaning yourself
from unclean is cleaning the body, clothes or places inhabited from dirt until it
loses its taste, smell and color. Surah Al-Muddassir verse: 4 [74: 4] and clean your
clothes,

B. Inner washing

Inner washing is cleansing the soul from inner impurities in the form of sin
and immoral acts such as envy, envy, etc. How to clean it with nashoha's
repentance is to beg for forgiveness and promise not to repeat it again.

God always makes it easy for his servants to do things. For purification,
for example, we can not only use water, but we can also use earth, stone, wood
and other sacred solid objects to replace water if it is not found. In purifying using
water, we must also pay attention to the water that can and should not be used for
washing.

Various kinds of water

Water that can be used for purification is

· Absolute water, that is holy and purifying water, which is water:

1. Rainwater

2. Well water

3. Sea water

4. River water

5. Lake / lake water

6. Snow water

7. Dew water

QS Al-Anfal verse: 11 [8:11] (Remember), when Allah makes you sleepy as a

reassurance from Him, and Allah sends you rain from heaven to purify you with
that rain and eliminate from you the disturbance of Satan and to strengthen your
heart and strengthen it with your feet.

· Water that is holy but cannot purify, which is halal water to drink but cannot be
used for purification such as tea water, coffee, syrup, coconut water etc.

· Musyammas water is water that is sun-dried in vessels other than gold and
silver. This water is used for purification
· Mustakmal water is water that has been used for purification. This water should
not be used for purification even though it has no change in taste, smell or color

· Mutant water is water that has been exposed to impurities. Both those that have
changed the taste, color and smell or which have not changed in small amounts
are less than two kullah (270 liters according to contemporary scholars)

HOW TO THAHARAH

There are various ways in purifying, namely washing with water such as
ablution and junub or mandatory bathing. There is also purification by using dust,
which is by means of tayamum. And can also use water, soil, stone and wood
(tissue or paper that belongs to the category of wood), namely by resting.

Ways of wayah according to the unclean division:

1. Mild unclean (unclean mukhafafah)

Unclean mukhafafah is unclean from the urine of a baby boy who hasn't
eaten anything except his mother's milk and is less than 2 years old. How to clean
unclean is enough to sprinkle water that gets exposed to unclean.

2. Medium unclean (unclean mutawassitah)

Included in this unclean group are dirt, urine, etc. How to clean it simply
by washing or flushing it with water until the unclean disappears (both taste, smell
and color).

3. Unclean heavy (unclean mughalazah)

Unclean weight is a material whose impurity is determined based on a

definite proposition (qat'i). namely dogs and pigs. How to clean it is by removing
the unclean goods first then washing it with clean water seven times and one of
them with soil or stone.
