1. 1st place winning team of L'Oreal Girl Science Camp 2008
My team won the science competition organized by L'Oreal. For the competition, my team submitted a
research paper titled "Bring Lunch, Save Energy". We went as delegation of our high school, defeated
other teams that had also submitted research papers under the theme "Go Green".

2. Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) Scholarship Awardee

Yayasan Karya Salemba Empat periodically selecting the best student to be awardee of their
scholarship. Their target is to give funding to the student who need financial assistance in books, the
internet and others. I received the scholarship during 2011-2014.
3. Youngest Graduates on 3rd Batch Graduation of Universitas Padjadjaran 2014

I had successfully completed my bachelor study program in chemistry major at 20 year old. As a result,
I got a honor from the rector for being the youngest graduates on 3rd Batch of my college graduation.

5. PROPOSED FUTURE CAREER

My name is Nanda. I have graduated from Chemistry major Universitas Padjajaran. I am
currently working at FMCG Company as Product Regulatory Chief. I am on my planning for
joining master degree education related with business management that would assist me
pursuing a industrial career as a Director of Product Management. On the other hand, my
career vision is to one day be able for being responsible upon the business’s product planning
and execution all through the lifecycle of the business.
This would be include gathering and prioritizing requirements for the product, defining the vision
for the product and ensuring the regulation compliance. I shall have the skill to handle
engineering, marketing, sales, and operations activity in order to ensure that the financial and
consumer satisfaction goals are met. In addition to this, my future position would also ensures
that the company’s overall strategy supported by the products.

pursue and relate this to your future career plan.

My educational aspiration consist of acquiring a master degree in any industrial or business
management that would assisst me in pursuing a industrial career as Director of Product
Management. However, I am certain that if I do not complete my master degree I could never have
to broaden my perspective and improve my managerial skill in order to achieve my career goals.
I decide that I will attain career as a Product Director since my passion has always been an
enterpreneur who manage the product and try to solve the problem in business cycle of industrial
field. The second biggest career goal, still related to my enterpreneur soul, that I want to establish
a non-profit consulting body to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) upon Research,
Product Development, Regulatory-Scientific Affairs and also Halal Assurance System. As the long
term benefit, I do hope I will help the economical growth for my country.
As I red on the book titled Handbook of Technology and Innovation Management, the enterpreneur
is the agent of change in the economy. This is very inspired me to take business management
master degree because I thought that it will facilitate me to broaden my knowledge and perspective
as a great enterpreneur.
I also thought that my choice to study in Brunei Darussalam would be a great decision to support
my future career. Since Brunei Darussalam is a very rich country that reached their Gross
Domestic Product at BND 4.5 billion in quarter one 2019, Brunei Darussalam must have a big
number of case studies in business activity. Also, the people are mostly Islam and I am sure that
Brunei Darussalam would also have a good experience in Halal management. To date, Indonesian
Council of Ulama (MUI) had delegated its authority body to issue Halal Certification named Halal
Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH). It will change the process of Indonesia Halal
Certification and I might need cross literature of Halal Science in another moslem country like
Brunei Darussalam to get ready of this authority transfer.
During my professional life I also found few industrial problems that I need to solve and get a
further review about it. (Please refer to the enclosed additional materials titled Annex I)

Currently, Gurnanda is in charge to handle export market product which required an
advance proficiency in English. On daily basis she frequently communicate through e-mail
or TV Meeting with the staff from our branch company in ASEAN, NIEs and IMEA
countries. She have also experienced the international exposure as she worked in our
headquarter office in Japan for 2 (two) weeks. It made her English skill is improved into
high level both in speaking and writing.

As her supervisor, I had monitored her progress each day since the first day she had
worked. Her academic competence of Industrial Application really shown when she talk
about product’s lifecycle. Also, she is way better to communicate with colleague both in
oral or written than the other member since she had experience as a tutor back then. She
have a good knowledge about today’s technology as well and all of those mentioned
competences make her ready to take her Master Degree abroad.

During my professional life I have found few industrial problems that motivate me to take my master degree
in business management and Halal science. They are:
a. How to manage cosmetics technologies in dynamic environment?
We have seen that the cosmetic industry takes an essential part of all human being’s everyday life.
Sometime to catch the market demand, the company made the production going outsource in the another
private label cosmetic manufacturer. This is very dynamic situation because multiple parties will involved:
private label manufacturer, brand holder company, customers, supplier, government, and experts. In this
situation what kind of tools or approaching to manage technologies and navigate in the cosmetic industry to
maintain or improve their industrial position.
