We have reached a historic and critical milestone. We now have a supermajority of support in
the House of Representatives! Yesterday, our legislation to create a museum on our National
Mall dedicated to honoring the contributions of Latinos throughout American history reached
294 cosponsors, but we are not done.

Over 290 bipartisan members of the House of Representatives

now support the National Museum of the American Latino Act.
Join us in calling on House leadership to bring the legislation to a
vote!

With over 290 co-sponsors, it is clear that our campaign has broad and bipartisan support
from our nation’s policymakers - but it is time to take the next step towards making this vision
a reality. Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard today at (202) 224-3121 and ask that they bring
H.R. 2420 to a vote, and urge your Senators to support the bill’s Senate counterpart, S.1267.

a pivotal, foundation role in the building of our nation. Despite countless contributions to
America’s economy, fighting in every one of our wars, and positively impacting every aspect of
society, the story of Latinos in the United States has been largely absent from Smithsonian
museums and the time to change that is now,” said Danny Vargas, Chairman of the
FRIENDS board. “The tremendous support for this legislation in Congress demonstrates just
how powerful our community’s stories are in filling the gaps in our history.”
