Brazil’s new soy crop 38% sold as of Nov 30


Brazil Soybean Sales Brazil’s upcoming soy-
bean crop was 38% sold as of Nov
30, according to a survey conduct-
ed by AgRural. Sales were at 32%
one month before and at 21% in
November 2009. Among the top
producers, Mato Grosso, the num-
ber 1 soy-growing state in Brazil,
had 54% of its estimated produc-
tion already sold, compared to
last month’s 43% and last year’s
37%. Sales were more robust in
the first days of the month, when
prices were above US$ 13/bu in
Chicago. In the other main produc-
ers, sales lost momentum in No-
vember, but are ahead of last year’s
numbers. AgRural estimates Bra-
zilian soy production at 69.4 mil-
lion tons, below last month’s 69.8
million tons due to a minor adjust-
ment in Rio Grande do Sul’s yield.
