Statement of Purpose

I am working as a consultant with Next Education India Pvt. Ltd. (formerly Helix Technological
Solutions Pvt. Ltd.), a technology-based education company involved in developing diverse educational
products that aid the educational process. This is my first exposure to the consulting profession and it has
turned out to be a perfect match for someone with my academic record; communication and leadership
skills; and ambition to succeed.

My exposure to research at IIT Bombay (India), NUS (Singapore) and ULG (Belgium); and experience
with technical competitions and events have fostered the creative side of my personality and entailed out-
of-the-box thinking and logical analysis. Work on my dissertation to this point has involved extensive
research, hypothesis formulation, hours of data interpretation, analysis, and team collaboration with my
mentor; this process is not unlike the consulting project cycle. In addition, my coursework in
microeconomics and macroeconomics has increased my interest and honed my skills in the business
arena.

I have shown initiative, ability and creativity in problem solving, and a commitment to building
consensus and excellence throughout my college community during the last five years. As a Corporal
(special guard second-in-command) in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the Overall Coordinator for
the Design Lab Mentorship Programme of IIT Bombay, I have learned:
• the value of integrity, persistence, character and honest communication in working toward
short- and long-term personal and institutional goals
• to think and work as a team
• to use language accurately and effectively
• to articulate myself to a range of audiences

The opportunity to effect positive change for a range of institutions is the most attractive aspect of

been part of a college community whose openness and invigorating culture has allowed for measured
risks, creativity and the candor necessary to achieve my personal and the institutional goals; and I hope to
begin my career in a similarly rigorous and interesting environment where can I learn from industry
leaders. I look forward to exploring further my opportunities at Bain & Company. I highly appreciate
