Sampath Bank has implemented “SAMPATHSAVIYA” microfinance programme

Island wide through its branch network.

“SAMPATHSAVIYA” Microfinance programme provides the following financial

services for the grass root level customers.

- Savings

- Credit

- Entrepreneurship development services

Objectives of “SAMPATHSAVIYA”

• Introduce and provide Sampath Bank financial services for the grass root level
community to start and develop

sustainable Income Generating Activities (IGA) - (Microenterprise).

• To encourage thrift and saving habits of the grass root level community

• Contribute to the social and economic development of the Country

• Promotion of micro Entrepreneurs by providing financial and non financial

services.

Potential Customers

• Households who are not defaulters of any other financial sources.

• Households who are presently engaged in the income generating activities

(Micro business)

and those who are willing to start income generating activities (Micro business)

• Households whose monthly income is less than approximately Rs. 10,000/-.

How does it work?

Potential customers should have formed Self Help Group (SHG) the maximum
size of a group will be limited to 7 members. The minimum size will be 5
members.
