Healing is the Children’s Bread

Jehovah- Rapha, the same yesterday, today and forever

Healing is the Greek word ―Idamai”, which means to cure, to restore or to heal.

Healing is the Children’s Bread is an uplifting, inspirational, spiritual nugget to

bring the believer to another dimension of trust in Jehovah- Rapha, the Balm in

Gilead to heal and deliver mankind of spiritual, emotional and physical

encumbrances! Healing is a topic of vast interest to the believer and the unbeliever

and it is a subject that has drawn my interest to delve into and research Scriptures

from the Old Testament to the New Testament!

I have discovered God’s provision and interest to heal His people from the very

beginning of time! The propulsion of the Holy Spirit was upon me to examine a

very potent and promising Scripture taken from Exodus 15:26 it says, ―If you will

hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, and will do that which is

right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statues,

I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the

Egyptians: for I am the Lord who heals you‖! What is the definition for disease?
This is a profound verse of Scripture that had gripped my attention for a prolonged

period of time! This is voice of Jehovah God who spoke about the consequence of

Israel’s obedience or disobedience to His voice! If they obeyed they would remain

healthy but if they disobeyed they would be afflicted with diseases like their

oppressors! I was again led to look at some of the diseases in the book of

Deuteronomy chapter 28: 22, 27-28 that afflicted the Egyptians; the Lord shall

smite you with consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with

an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and

they shall pursue until you perish! The Lord will smite you with the botch of

Egypt, and with emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof you cannot

be healed! And the Lord shall smite you with madness, and blindness, and

astonishment of heart!

If they obeyed the voice of the Lord they would be blessed! So Let us examine the

blessings, documented in Deuteronomy 28: 1-14, ―If you fully obey the LORD

your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your

God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come

upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God: You will be

blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be

blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of

your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough
will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go

out. The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be

defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in

seven. The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put

your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. The

LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you

keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in his ways. Then all the

peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they

will fear you. The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your

womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he

swore to your forefathers to give you. The LORD will open the heavens, the

storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the

work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The

LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands

of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will

always be at the top, never at the bottom. Do not turn aside from any of the

commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and

serving them‖.

Jehovah-Rapha, the healer promised them to be their healer and what He spoke

was proven to them as they journeyed toward their promise land! It so happened as
they strolled the sun parched land and desired for their thirst to be quenched, they

found themselves facing inconsumable bitter water! This was rather quite

disappointing but their God was ready to prove Himself. Before we delve into the

bitter water of Marah, let us look at this word Jehovah-Rapha. In Hebrew as used

in Exodus 15: 26 it means Jehovah, the healer! Jehovah was Israel’s Deliverer and

He is our healer as well!

It was God who chose these special people and he declared them to His peculiar

treasure and the apple of His eye! It is a fact that they had food and water in their

place of captive- that is Egypt but they were brutally oppressed by their

taskmasters so they cried out to Jehovah God! Let us see what Exodus 3: 7-10 says

about their days of slavery in Egypt. Here is the quotation: The LORD said, "I

have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out

because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have

come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up

out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and

honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and

Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the

way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh

to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt."

Moses was quite adamant when he thought about the magnitude of his mission but

he succumbed to the plan of God and led the people of Israelites out of Egypt!

They were faced with insurmountable problems- hostile warriors, ferocious

animals, lack of food and water but God defended and provided for them. Can you

imagine walking for days in the wilderness without consuming water! They were

deleted of energy and were probably very dehydrated but God’s instruction to

Moses was to strike the rock! Out of the rock gushed drinkable water for these

complaining folks! This apparent supernatural provision of God should have built

their faith! Their thirst was quenched but the unforeseen was yet ahead of them!

Exodus 15: 22-27 tells us the waters of Marah and Elim. Then Moses led Israel

from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they

traveled in the desert without finding water. When they came to Marah, they could

not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah). So

the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What are we to drink?" Then Moses

cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it

into the water, and the water became sweet. There the LORD made a decree and a

law for them, and there he tested them. He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice

of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his

commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I

brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you." Then they came to
Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped

there near the water.

So in the wilderness of Shur there was no water, now at Marah water could be

found but it was bitter. I thought about this temptation and it occurred to me how

easy and quick do we forget the goodness of God and instead of trusting when we

are faced with diverse testing we rather tend to complain! These nomads were

exasperated, tired and weary. They were very upset with their leader and they had

not looked to the Rock of their salvation.

They wanted water and Moses had to cry out God and He showed him a tree which

he was told to throw into the water. The natural man cannot understand the things

of God for they are foolishness unto him! God could have instructed Moses to

stretch his rod over the bitter water but He did not. He used another object which

could have been considered nonsensical but I believe this demonstration was to

build their faith in God. He spoke! He said put the trees or wood into the water and

something miraculous happened. The undrinkable bitter water was transformed

into sweet consumable water. God was faithful to them again and this is to show us

that He is immutable forever and ever Amen. The word of God is written for our

edification, comfort and strengthens. Hear this reader, it does not matter the
bitterness of life- that complex situation you are facing, the Holy Ghost, the River

of life in you is potent enough to heal and deliver.

Moses threw the tree into the bitter water but we need to throw ourselves at the feet

of God until we are fully submerged into the current of His anointing. The

anointing begins to flow at the ankle as we kneel but if we remained there, the

water will reach our knees and waist and then we will begin to swim in the living

water of the Lord! Our bitterness and bitterness of our sisters and brothers in the

Lord will be transformed to sweetness! What kind of land does your Jehovah-

Rapha needs to heal? Is it physical, emotional, spiritual, financially? What is it?

Name it and trust Him and He will see you through. Christ in God has made us

wisdom, righteousness, redemption and sanctification. On the cross the blood has

taken out the bitterness of sin and we are forgiven. On the cross we were redeemed

with the precious blood of Jesus. The bitterness of the curse does not overshadow

us anymore! Praise the Lord. On the cross the bitterness of diseases and sicknesses

are taken from us! He bore our infirmities and by his stripes we are healed. He was

touched with the very feeling of our infirmities.

Oh what a God? Isaiah 53:4-5says, ―Surely he took up our infirmities and carried

our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the
punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are

healed‖. 2 Peter 2:24 says, “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that

we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been

healed‖. Healing is the Children’s Bread; let us eat the bread of life daily- that the

Word of Christ, the incorruptible seed so that we may obtain life and health unto

our flesh! He is our Jehovah-Rapha, Yesterday, Today and forever!

Encouragement: The word of God is written for our edification, comfort and

strengthens. It does not matter the bitterness of life- that complex situation you are

facing, the Holy Ghost, the River of life in you is potent enough to heal and

deliver!

Prayer: When my heart is overwhelmed with emotional, spiritual, physical and

financial encumbrances, I come to you Jehovah-Rapha, the healer! You are the

God of all flesh and nothing is impossible with you.

Chapter two

Healing is the Children’s Bread

The Bread of life: Exodus chapter 16 & John chapter 6

Having a relish for the Word of God is one of the most phenomenal things one

could ever attain in life. It is with godly boasting that I made the prouncement that

―I do have a relish or appetite for the Word of God‖. What is rather intriguing is

the fact that every believer needs to lay hold of Logos (God’s written word) which

when mediated upon become the Rhema Word. The Rhema is that alive and

quickened word that the Holy Spirit will lay hold of or draw from the reservoir of

your heart.

There is something supernatural about the Word of God! As a matter of fact Jesus

was speaking to the Jews in John 5: 39 and I quote: search the scriptures; for in

them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. I have

keenly observed that when I read the Word of God, I am inspired and motivated to

do exploit for the Lord. To be very vivid, I am often times given themes and topics

to preach or write about! I also received profound spiritual nuggets to edify,

encourage and strengthen the Body of Christ.

God is immutable. Malachi 3:6 says ―For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore

you sons of Jacob are not consumed‖. God made covenants with the Patriarchs of

the Old Testament and these leagues were kept by Him. He promised His friend

Abraham that he would be exceedingly blessed and be a great nation. He was

faithful to His chosen people. He watched over them day and night and provided

food and water as you have seen in the first chapter.

What is of striking importance to me is the Bread or Manna that God provided for

His people! This provision can be considered very supernatural! The Holy Spirit

impressed upon me to meditate on the Bread or Manna in the Old Testament which

was a Type, a Symbol or foreshadowing of what was to come (Jesus the Bread of

life which was to come to give everlasting life). The Israelites had food in

abundance in the land of Egypt and God sent them a deliverer. They were led

toward their promised land but they had to depend on God to feed them. They were

rebels, stiff-necked and were not accustomed to this kind of dependency on God.

Exodus chapter 16 explicitly tells us that God provided quails and Bread for His

special people. Upon the face of the earth was covered with a small round thing,

when they saw it, they called it Manna. They did not know what it was; therefore

Moses said to them, this is the Bread that the Lord gives you to eat. Of course the

specialty of this Bread was to comply with certain instruction. They were told to

gather a certain amount daily and twice as much on the sixth day (Read Exodus 16)

I am in awe because of the Type, and Symbols God used to show us what was to

come! This Bread was a foreshadowing of the Bread of life that was in God’s

bosom to be manifested among men when the fullness of time had come. This is
remarkable! I love the third person of the God-head. He is indeed a Guide, a

Teacher, the revealer of Truth and he is able to show us things to come. He is one

that inspires and illuminates so that the Body of Christ can be fully furnished unto

all good works. He prepares us to do exploit for God.

The Holy Spirit led me to an ideal Scripture in John chapter six to show that the

Bread portrayed in the Old Testament is a fulfillment of the Bread of life (Jesus) in

the New Testament. The Bread of life had come, born of woman and had done the

works of Him who sent him. Luke 4:16-22 declares his mission statement; the

Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has sent to preach the gospel to the poor:

to heal the broken – hearted, to set at liberty them that are bruised; to preach the

acceptable year of the Lord. Acts 10:38 says, ―How God anointed Jesus of

Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and

healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him‖.

Isn’t it excitedly interesting that Jehovah God fed His chosen people with Manna

or Bread in the wilderness? Now, we see Jesus the Bread of life feeding 5000

followers in the New Testament. Jesus (this Bread of life) had healed many that

were sick and delivered many who were possessed of the devils. The folks around

him were very astonished because they said what a word. They said he spoke with

authority and cast out devils. Many pressed to touch him for virtue flowed out of

Him. The river of life was evident in his ministry and it was for all to be partakers.
They had seen diverse healings and now the Bread of life was about to perform a

miracle of astounding proportion that would baffle the minds of the common folks

and the Elites- (the Pharisees, the Sadducees). The Bible tells us that Jesus could

not be found but some folks decided to search for Him. We need to learn a lesson

from this, and seek Him while He may be found. It is quite apparent that they

gathered and they were taught by Jesus the Word but now it was evening and they

were famished.

The Bread of life proceeded to fed them but there was no food! He asked one of his

disciples by the name of Philip, where shall we buy bread to feed these people?

Philip response was quite very interesting! Philip, however saw a lad with 5 barley

loaves and 2 fishes and the Bread of life who specializes in multiplication and

increase instructed the disciples to seat the people on the ground; then he gave

thanks and let the disciples distributed the food.

This was an astounding miracle, for everyone was fed with so little food, yet they

gathered 12 baskets of fragments! Jesus came not only to give eternal life but

according 2 Peter 2:4 we are partakers of his divine power which pertains unto our

life and godliness! John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that He gave his

only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have

everlasting life. These folks had not believed that he had come to give life and life

more abundantly. They did not believe that Jesus was the Bread of life. John
6:31says, ―Our father did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, he gave them

bread to eat‖.

This awe- striking miracle had baffled the minds of the Elites and they made the

comparison of the Bread that their fore-fathers ate in the Old Testament. Jesus

admonished them to understand that the Manna or Bread their fore-fathers

consumed in the wilderness had decayed when too much was gathered but Jesus

the Bread of life, you cannot have too much of him. As a matter of fact the more

we have of him is better we know him and the more we grow in his grace and

knowledge.

This is awesome; he came to give us life now and everlasting life! This Bread

cannot be exhausted. From everlasting to everlasting, he is the Bread of life! Glory

be to God, we are partakers of this life that we have obtained when we first

accepted him as Lord and Savior of our lives. There is also life giving power in the

indwelling Word of Christ; let it dwell in you richly in all wisdom. These Elites

craved for the Bread as Jesus spoke to them but they were blinded in their minds

because of a lack of knowledge; and Jesus said to them, I am the Bread of life: he

who comes to me shall never hunger and he who believes on me shall never thirst.

John 6:41 shows us, that the Jews began to murmur against the Bread of life. Jesus

said, that a Prophet has no honor in his own country and here the Jews said, this

little lad we know. His father and mother we know very well, so how can he say, I
came down from heaven? They despised him and questioned the Bread of life but

it was the will of God. The word of the Lord declares that He came unto own and

they did not receive but to them that received him, he gave them power to become

the sons of God (John1:12).

Jesus was the Word at the very beginning of creation. He was the seed of salvation

in the bosom of the father waiting for the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms to be

fulfilled (Scriptures) Grace and Truth had come but the Jews did not believe; they

were waiting for the Messiah to appear. The Bread of life said to them, he who

believes on me has everlasting life. Jesus said I am the Bread of life; he reminded

the Jews in John 6: 48, your father did eat Manna in the wilderness and is dead.

This is the Bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof and

not die.

Jesus said, I am the Living Bread which came down from heaven. If any man eats

of this Bread, he shall live forever: and the Bread that I will give is my flesh, which

I will give for the life of the world. Jesus of Nazareth (the true Bread of life) is that

life that was poured out for his friends. He knew that his body was to broken on the

cross to redeem mankind from their sins. The outpoured blood would give

mankind life and healing in the atonement. They killed the Bread of life but his

body had not decayed like the bread they collected in the Old Testament.
Death could not hold him captives, even in the grave he was Lord and is still Lord.

The word of the Lord says in Philippians 2:5-8, ―Your attitude should be the same

as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality

with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very

nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance

as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a

cross. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that

is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven

and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is

Lord, to the glory of God the Father‖.

Jesus is at the right hand of Majesty making intercession for you and me. Behold,

he is knocking at your heart’s door, if you open he will come in and sup with you.

When he comes in, the Bread of life whose body was broken for you and I will

give you life. Now, incline your ears to his Word. Let his Word not depart from

your eyes. You must look into the prefect law of liberty. Let his Word indwell your

hearts richly for it is life unto them that finds it and health unto your flesh. This is

liberating and awesome for the word of the Lord says in Jeremiah 32:27, ―I am the

Lord, God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? Health is when one is

sound physically and mentally! Last but certainly not least, 3 John 1-2 says ―Dear

friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you,
even as your soul is getting along well‖. Get the word in your hearts and with all of

your getting, get a hunger and a thirst for the word and hide it in your innermost

being.

Encouragement: The Third Person of the God-head is indeed a Guide, a Teacher;

the revealer of Truth He will shows us things to come. He inspires, illuminates the

Body of Christ to become fully furnished unto all good works! He prepares us to

do exploit for God.

Prayer: Abba Father, I thank you that you are the Living Bread which when eaten,

digested and assimilated has the capacity to give us all that pertains unto our life

and godliness!

Chapter Three

Healing is the Children’s Bread

Hezekiah sickness and prophecy of healing

I believe it is of paramount importance to know the difference between these two

words, sickness and disease. Sickness is illness, physical or mental disorder. A

disease is a malady or aliment, or an unhealthy condition of the mind or body. In

the Old Testament an account is written about a very famous King who was sick

unto death. This King had demonstrated to us that when the shadows of death
hover over us, we need to enter the Throne of Grace and cry out to God! The

prayer of supplication is fervent in grave situation to cause a revolution or

transformation.

In 2 Kings 20 the word of Lord declares this King to be Hezekiah! This man of

God was sick unto death about the 14 year of his reign! He was about 39 years and

the reason is not given for his sickness in this chapter! However, in 2 Chronicles

32, it is quite obvious that because the Lord had bountifully blessed him he became

very proud. The bible tells us that they who exalt themselves shall be humbled.

This scenario is at times similar to what we are facing! Sin in our life can cause

sickness. The Prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz said unto Hezekiah, thus saith, the

Lord, set your house in order for you shall die and not live. This great Monarch

turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord saying: I beseech you, O

Lord, remember now how I walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart,

and have done that which is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept sorely.

I would love to draw your attention to three very significant words and they are as

follow: Prayer, prophecy and healing! Do not wait until you are sick to pray but

make this discipline your chief business. Men ought always to pray and not faint.

Prayer is a spiritual weapon we use to access the presence of the Almighty God

and talk with this Supernatural Being. Prayer is conversing or talking with a
personal, intelligent, all powerful God! He is Jehovah- Rapha- the healer of man’s

body, soul and spirit.

What a glorious privilege there is that we have no mediator to represent us. You

and I can enter the Throne of Grace through Jesus Christ boldly in dire situation

and wept and beseech God to look down upon us. The King reminded God about

his walk before him and the bible tells us in verse 4 that before Isaiah was gone out

into the middle court that the word of the Lord came to him, saying, turn again and

tell Hezekiah the caption of my people, thus saith the Lord, the God of David, your

father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: Behold I will heal you on

the third day you shall go unto the house of the Lord. And I will add unto your

days 15 years: and I will deliver you this city out of the hand of the King of

Assyria: and I will defend this city for my own sake, and for my servant David’s

sake.

Prayer and prophecy works hand in hand. When one prays to this Omnipotent

Father of Mercy and Grace, He often times raised up a Prophet to deliver a word;

Take another look at King Jehoshaphat situation in 2 Chronicles 20! King

Hezekiah’s prayer reached the heart of God! The Prophet Isaiah was on his way

but had to turn around and gave a prophetic word to the King! It was a word of

restoration and healing and defense from the enemy. God said I will make you

whole and I will prolong the days of your life. Psalm 91: 14 say, ―With long life I
satisfy you and show you my salvation‖. In verse seven of 2 Kings Chapter 20 I

was drawn into deep mediation. It says, and said, take a lump of figs, and they did

and lay on the boil and he recovered. This is quite intriguing and questionable.

One may say, God has the power to heal this condition instantaneously without the

aid of natural remedy. He is God; he uses the simple thing to confound the wise.

He might have recommended the figs to generate or activate faith. On the other

hand some plants have medicinal remedies. The herbs were created for the healing

of the body.

The lump of figs was applied to the King’s boil and he recovered. I can identify

with this application; I have been sick as a result of my ordeal which I documented

in my book, ―Demons are real‖. I had reoccurring bouts of constipation which was

very excruciating but I sought the Lord in prayer and fasting. I was determined to

turn my eyes to the hill. I was determined to turn my face to the wall until a

messenger comes my way or God answer me by fire. I was determined like the

woman with the issue of blood to touch the royal scepter or God’s hand. I was in a

state of desperation and despondency! I had many questions and concerns. I asked,

why me God? But I was determined not to depart from God’s presence like Anna. I

persevered in prayer and fasting, weeping and beseeching the Almighty God to

rend the heavens and come down into my situation. One night I prayed and I went

to sleep! I dreamt that night of a big hand giving me cod liver oil! I woke up and
the memory of the dream just lingered in my mind and I was not certain of what to

do.

So I called one prayer partners of mine and explained the dream to him; he said to

me go the pharmacy and purchase the cod liver oil and drink it. I expeditiously

went and purchased this oil which when I consumed worked on my digestive

organs alleviating every pain and discomfort. I declare with confidence that I am

healed. What an amazing God we serve. He is the healer, the great Physician and

sympathizing God! We do not have to doubt Him; Jesus used spittle and mud and

put on the blind man’s eyes. Many pressed to touch him because virtue flowed out

of him. Now, think about someone putting mud and spittle on your face; you

would consider this very gross or unhygienic. In this Post Modern world that we

are living, one would be scandalized and ridiculed. Whatever, it does not matter

what others think! God says it, so do it. Pray, listen and watch for God will surely

do something about your situation and sometime it the eccentric thing that He

does. Be alert and sensitive to Him now!

Encouragement: Prayer is a spiritual weapon available to us to access the

presence of the Almighty God. Prayer is conversing or talking with a personal,

intelligent, all powerful God! He is Jehovah- Rapha- the healer of man’s body, soul

and spirit.

Prayer: Heavenly father, I thank you that when we are sick and diseased, we can

approach the Throne of grace boldly and cry out to you! You know how to turn a

very ugly and obnoxious situation around. Thank you that nothing is too hard for

you to do. Amen!

Chapter 4

Healing is the Children’s Bread

Job sick beyond recognition

Sometimes when one is critically or terminally ill, it is human tendency to think

that the end has come. When sickness distorts the physical body and deterioration

begins, it takes the miracle power of the Balm in Gilead to heal! It is absolutely

encouraging that Jesus who is now at the right of Majesty defies death at Lazarus

tomb! The Word called the dead to come forth, and the penetrating sharpness of

the active word moved into putrefaction and gave life.

As believers of Jesus Christ, we have become the righteousness of God, the heir of

God and joint-heir with the sweet Nazarene! We are susceptible to sickness and

disease because Adam and Eve disobeyed the divine commandment in the Garden

of Eden or Delight. Our sicknesses may be caused by varied reasons; it could be to

test or build your faith! Maybe we are puffed up and very proud or we are

harboring unforgiveness in our hearts! Or it could just to cultivate trust or

confidence in the God of our salvation. This test character is a typical and graphic

example of trust in God! Though he did nothing wrong to procure the trouble that

brewed in his life, his faith in God was relentless!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, ―All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,

rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be

thoroughly equipped for every good work‖. Everything that we ever need is in the
Word of God! 2 Peter 1:3-4 says, ―His divine power has given us everything we

need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his

own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious

promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape

the corruption in the world caused by evil desires‖. I have a relish for the Word of

God because the potency thereof edify, comfort and strengthen us! After we have

suffered a little while, the Lord will stablish, strengthen and settle us! This is what

Jehovah- God did to this vessel of honor that God considered perfect.

The book of Job is a depiction of steadfast trust and faith in God despite the

complex trouble of life. Once upon time as a baby Christian, I was a chronic

complainer when I was faced with trouble of all sorts! I had not read or graphed

the Word of God at all. As a matter of fact, I never memorized nor did I learn the

art of mediation of the Word! My heart was empty of the Word and nothing was in

my mouth to speak! These two scriptures I have to learn to lay hold of! James 1:2-

4 says, ―Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

because you know that the testing of your faith develops

perseverance...Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and

complete, not lacking anything‖.

1 Peter 4:12-13 says, ―Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are

suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. -But rejoice that

you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his

glory is revealed‖. Humanly speaking, pain causes discomfort and this can be

excruciating and unbearable but we are admonished to rejoice! Job 14:1 says,

―Man that is born of a woman is of a few days and it is full of trouble‖. Job’s

trouble was incomprehensible; the Bible says that he was a perfect man, upright

and one who feared God and hated evil!

Bear in mind that this fear was not sin perfection, but he did everything in his

power to please God! He had a big family and was very wealth! Job1: 2-3 says,

―He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three

thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a

large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the

East. He was the authority figure over his household! Job was concerned about his

children’s spiritual life. Job 1: 4-5 says, ―His sons used to take turns holding feasts

in their homes, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.

When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them

purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them,

thinking, "Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." This

was Job's regular custom.

This is a remarkable example for the family to emulate! Job 1:6-12 says, ―One day

the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with

them. The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the

LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it." Then the

LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on

earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."

"Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. "Have you not put a hedge around

him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his

hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But stretch out

your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."

The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but

on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of

the LORD‖.

There was a confrontation between God and Satan and their discourse was quite an

interesting one. There is a question of interest and importance that gripped my

attention when I looked in to the Word of God and it as follow: God asked Satan,

have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a

perfect and an upright man, one who fears God and hates evil. This I believe is

God boasting about this character’s faith in Him, unmovable, unshakable, steadfast

and firm anchored in the cleft of the Rock which is God! I believe that there are
some saints of like character today who God can boast about. Ask yourself the

question, when I am afflicted by a spirit of infirmity, when I am sick beyond

recognition and there is no cure, will I respond like this man of faith?

What is God seeing in me and what is He saying about me? Does He see

unwavering faith? Does He see unceasing prayer, praise and worship? What does

He see? Now, for another important question but this time it was Satan who asked

his question! Job 1:9- 11 says, ―Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied.

"Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has?

You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread

throughout the land. But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he

will surely curse you to your face."

God gave him permission for Satan to touch all that Job possessed. Job 1: 13-22

tells us all, ―One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking

wine at the oldest brother's house, a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen

were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, and the Sabeans attacked and

carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who

has escaped to tell you!" While he was still speaking, another messenger came and

said, "The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants,

and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!" While he was still speaking,
another messenger came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and

swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the

sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!" While he was still

speaking, yet another messenger came and said, "Your sons and daughters were

feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, when suddenly a mighty

windswept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed

on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!" At

this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in

worship and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart.

The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be

praised." In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

Job had every reason to sulk and complain but he did not. He bowed his head in

worshipped to Ancient of Day. He ascribed unto Him the first fruit of his lips,

worshipping God Omnipotent. Worship is an active response whereby we declare

God’s worth. It does not matter what we are going through; our worship should not

be passive but participative. We ascribe unto Him glory and honor and praise for

only Him alone is worthy despite your diverse troubles. Your suffering is just for

season? What is your prouncement in this season of suffering? Job said, naked I

came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the

LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised."
Some tend to blame God for what they are facing. They have an attitude and this is

how it reacts at times; I won’t praise or worship God because there is no need to.

In pain, fear settles in and the situation is aggravated and sad to say some lost and

literally died. The Bible says, be joyful always, patience in affliction, faithful in

prayer. The trying of our faith worketh patience but patience must have its

complete work in us so that we maybe through and complete not lacking anything.

Tests or trials build character and faith! Yes, as a matter of fact if we remain

steadfast like our brother Job, our test will soon become a testimony and the

message after awhile will be a message! The testimony of the Lord is sure making

wise the simple! It is not about you, your message or testimony is to save, comfort,

edify and strengthen someone! You may feel the pangs of hell but the glory will be

to God! Job life was a mess! No wife, children, wealth and servants, to me this is

enough already; then you figured more or less that I can’t take anything, there is

another storm cloud heading toward you. Wow, the question that is usually asked

is, when it going to cease?

God knows what we can bear because He is Omniscient! 1 Corinthians 10:13 says,

―No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is

faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you

are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. God

saw faith in Job initially and he came through like pure gold! So there it goes
again, another confrontation between God and Satan. God asked the question

again in Job 2:3; Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant

Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who

fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited

me against him to ruin him without any reason."

This is Satan response in Job chapter 4:8; "Skin for skin!" Satan replied. "A man

will give all he has for his own life. 5 But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh

and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face." The LORD said to Satan,

"Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life." So Satan went

out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the

soles of his feet to the top of his head. Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and

scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.

What kind of disease did Job have? We will look at the scriptures and analyze the

signs and symptoms! Job 7: 4-5 says, ―When I lie down I think, 'How long before I

get up?' The night drags on, and I toss till dawn. My body is clothed with worms

and scabs; my skin is broken and festering. We are not certain what ailment he had,

and some speculated it might have been Elephantiasis or Leprosy but some of

symptoms suggest a combination of physical problems! For example

disfigurement. Job 2:12 says, ―When they saw him from a distance, they could
hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and

sprinkled dust on their heads.

He hallucinated. Job 7:14 says, ―even then you frighten me with dreams

terrify me with visions‖. There was emaciation! Job 19:20 says, ―I am nothing but

skin and bones; I have escaped with only the skin of my teeth. Job experienced

excruciating pain! Job 30: 17 say, ―Night pierces my bones; my gnawing pains

never rest. This chosen vessel had also severe fever! Job 30: 30 says, ―My skin

grows black and peels; my body burns with fever .Job’s ordeal was indeed

obnoxious and unhygienic! It was a humiliating situation! The Bible says he

scraped himself! Can you be imaginative for a little while, sores exhuming pus,

worn eating his flesh and flies buzzing and being a nuisance to him! Regardless of

the pain and discomfort, he held unto his integrity! The wife deserted him, and this

is when he needed his significant other to be there for him! His wife was

disappointed that his God had not intervened and she asked a question.

The question is as follow: are you still holding on to your integrity? Why don’t you

curse God and die? Job response to her is one of unwavering faith in God. He

asked what? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive

evil? In all this Job did not sin. Lost everything, and sick beyond recognition but

for that cause he was greatly honored and rewarded. Job received double for his
trouble. His health was restored and now he had to pray for his friends! Do you

feel like you are walking in the man’s shoe then hope in God. What an awesome

and encouraging word for those who wrestle with the question of why do the

righteous suffer? Be strong, muster up some faith, Jesus suffered as well, so today

we are partakers of his suffering! Our light affliction can be compared with the

glory that is too be revealed.

Encouragement: God knows what we can bear because He is Omniscient. 1

Corinthians 10:13 says, ―No temptation has seized you except what is common to

man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can

bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can

stand up under it.

Prayer: Mighty God, we often wrestle with the question of if I am doing right,

why do I suffer? Help us to look to you and the comforting word that holy men of

God wrote in the bible to build, encourage and strengthen us. May our trust in you

be unwavering like Job in Jesus name! Amen.

Chapter 5

Healing is the Children’s Bread

The prayer of supplication

I believe it is imperative that the Body of Christ have knowledge of the different

kinds of prayers that are available and which need to be utilized appropriately to be

effective in the Christian life! One prayer that is of vital importance is the prayer of

supplication! There are many different kind of prayers and this can be attested by

the scripture in Ephesians 6: 18; and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all

kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on

praying for all the saints. We do have the prayer of praise, worship, intercession,

confession and supplication! Prayers expressing praise is as follow: Psalm 34,

145, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150! Psalm 103 is prayer expressing thanksgiving! Psalm

95 is prayer expressing worship! Psalm 51 is prayer expressing confession and

supplication!

According to one writer ―Supplication‖ is a more restricted and more intense form

of prayer, accompanied by a sense of personal need, limited to the seeking in an

urgent manner of a supply for pressing need. Supplication is the very soul of prayer

in the way of pleading for someone or something greatly needed and the need

intensely felt. The message of this chapter is not specifically dealing with sickness

but this particular situation is a domesticated and physical issue! One of the most

difficult and sometimes embarrassing problems a woman may encounter is that of

barrenness or infertility! Woman was created by Elohim to procreate and in olden

days was considered a disgrace if the womb was closed by varied reasons! Women

who faced this dilemma had seemed Geriatric Specialists, Naturopathic and some

have tried home remedies!

Doctors were able to help some but I have also heard of many who took their

situation to the Lord in prayer! This is supplication or what is called Deisis,

heartless felt, fervent prayer. So here is a heart-rending account of a Bible

character that was married but was a barren. In those days, polygamy was

prevalent; this woman husband had another wife who was a chronic nagger! Her

name was Peninnah! Now Hannah was so depressed she lost her appetite for food!
I Samuels 1:8-2-8 says, ―He had two wives; one was called Hannah and the other

Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none. After year this man went

up from his town to worship and sacrifice to the LORD Almighty at Shiloh, where

Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were priests of the LORD. Whenever

the day came for Elkanah to sacrifice, he would give portions of the meat to his

wife Peninnah and to all her sons and daughters. But to Hannah he gave a double

portion because he loved her, and the LORD had closed her womb. And because

the LORD had closed her womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate

her. This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the

LORD, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat. Elkanah her

husband would say to her, "Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don't you eat?

Why are you downhearted? Don't I mean more to you than ten sons?"

She did one thing that is of great importance to the believer, if you are facing a

complex situation! The Bible asserts that she rose up and went up to the temple!

Look at verse nine to eleven; once when they had finished eating and drinking in

Shiloh, Hannah stood up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on a chair by the doorpost

of the LORD's temple. In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the

LORD. And she made a vow, saying, "O LORD Almighty, if you will only look

upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give
her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor

will ever be used on his head."

Hannah’s prayer was one of supplication! What is meant by the prayer of

supplication? The word supplication in Greek is the Deisis, which depicts a person

who has some type of lack and therefore strongly pleads to God to meet the need!

The word is translated several times in the King’s James, including beseeching,

begging, or earnestly appealing. According to Rick Renner, ―Deisis depicts or

picture a person in such great need that pride has to be forced out of the way.

Deisis is fervent prayer! It is passionate, earnest, heartfelt, sincere prayer‖. This

kind of prayer takes the boldness of a person or believer to enter the presence of

God on the most serious terms, strongly beseeching Him to move on behalf of a

specific need!

Hannah was intolerant of her rival’s behavior so she rose and went to the temple to

supplicate! She entered that place boldly, for she needed God’s intervention! There

are many positions; one can use to approach the Throne of Grace, so Hannah knelt

down and began to pray in a very unusual way! I do not believe anyone had ever

seen this inaudible expression before! This expression baffled the mind Of the

Priest Eli that he proceeded to rebuke her! This is what Eli said, ―As she kept on

praying to the LORD, Eli observed her mouth. Hannah was praying in her heart,
and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk

and said to her, "How long will you keep on getting drunk? Get rid of your wine."

Hannah responded to the Priest in a very humble manner! Not so, my lord,"

Hannah replied, "I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking

wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. Do not take your servant

for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief."

Eli answered, "Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have

asked of him." And said, "May your servant find favor in your eyes." Then she

went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast‖.

If your problem is infertility or anything terminal or grave, enter in and make your

utterance known unto God! Weep and wail if you have to! As a matter of the fact

the Bible says that they who weep in tears shall reap in joy. Jesus wept in prayer!

Hebrews 5:7 says, ―During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers

and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death,

and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Eli prophesied to Hannah

saying, ―Eli answered, "Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you

have asked of him." She said, "May your servant find favor in your eyes." Then

she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast. Early

the next morning they arose and worshiped before the LORD and then went back
to their home at Ramah. Elkanah laid with Hannah his wife, and the LORD

remembered her. So in the course of time Hannah conceived and gave birth to a

son. She named him Samuel, saying, "Because I asked the LORD for him."

Do not focus on the complexity or magnitude of the problem nor do you need to be

ashamed! Consider Deisis and do it, this is you reaching out with all impetus in

your innermost being! I was impressed by the Holy Spirit to share this wonderful

and encouraging testimony with you all! At a particular Church where I preached

quite frequently was a very lovely, humble and married young lady! What I

discovered was the desire of her wanting to get pregnant for about eight years but

she could not! She had beautifully decorated the baby’s room and tried as she may

nothing just happen! One day I was preaching and prior to ministration; the Holy

Spirit led me to walk off the platform and approached her! I obeyed and I heard

whisper 1 Samuel chapter one in her ear and I did and was about heading to the

platform when the voice said to me , turn around and go and pull her close to you

until her abdominal cavity touches yours! Under my breathe, I said, you ought to

be kidding, what will people think? As I always do, I obeyed and did His

command! My gracious Father, after a short while this woman was very much

pregnant!
This is amazing! The things God at times asked of us to do for our good can be

very eccentric but if He says it, do it in the name of Jesus! Look at Hezekiah

situation, God said apply figs, eccentric, yes! There is no searching of His

understanding! We will not always understand what He has done and is doing but

do it anyways. Deisis, heartfelt, sincere prayer must be our chief business! The

priests or the Pastors cannot offer this kind of prayer for us! It is between you and

God! It might be a prolonged period but be persistent until God answers your

prayers. The prayer of a righteous man is effective! James 5:16 says, ―Therefore

confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. The prayer of supplication

is a powerful one! Let it be known unto you that we do not only have problems

with infertility physically but spiritual infertility as well! This is where one will

have to supplicate and yield to the will of God in your life like Mary and say, ―Be

it unto me according to your word‖. The Word then dwelt in her for a season and

was developed into Deliverer, a Redeemer and Healer of man’s body, soul and

spirit! Lay hold of this incorruptible seed and bring forth the fruit of your womb!

The fruits of your womb could be varied ministries! Mary’s fruit of her womb was

Jesus! Now he has become our gift of salvation! Spiritual fertility in your life will

make you fruitful and bountiful in your Christian walk! This fertility is nourished

by prayer which is a discipline and Christian obligation! Deisis is heartfelt, earnest

fervent interaction with the Most High God El- Elyon! He is able, why won’t you

enter in!

Encouragement: Deisis, heartfelt, sincere prayer must be our chief business! The

priests or the Pastors cannot offer up this kind of prayer for you! It is between you

and God! It might be a prolonged period of time but be persistent until God

answers your prayers.

Prayer: God of all flesh, nothing is too hard for you to do in my life; whether it s a

physical or spiritual situation your hand is not shortened so that you will not save!

Lord my name is engraved in the palm of your Hand and I give you thanks that you

are upholding with that Hand in Jesus name. Amen!

Chapter 6

Healing is the Children’s Bread

The prayer of faith and laying on of hands

Most of what I learnt about the prayer of faith and the laying on of hands was

instilled or practiced as I grew up with my Christian parents. I reminiscent on the

days when we were sick and the first thing that was offered was prayer for
healing by my mother! They have prayed often for healing than seeing a doctor

and this was really extraordinary. My mother reminds me of the Bible character by

the name of Anna, she departed not from temple but day and night, she fasted and

prayed! My mother is a devout woman of prayer and fasting. Most of her life is

invested in people’s life and the affairs of the church! I have seen on many

occasions, my mother being sick and laid her hands on herself and pray the prayer

of faith! The prayer of the righteous is effective! James 5: 16 says, ―Therefore

confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed‖.

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Mark 16:17-18 says,‖ And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my

name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up

snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at

all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." James 5:13-

16 says, ―Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him

sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church

to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer

offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has

sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for

each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful

and effective. As a child growing up I loathed the discipline of prayer and fasting
but this was beside the point; whether we liked it or not, we had no choice than to

attend every prayer and fasting meeting because our parents had never allowed us

to stay home. I was disgruntled because in these services whether you accepted the

Lord or not, we had to kneel down when the saints were praying. I was counting

down the minutes for this procession to be ended.

My mother was often called into people’s home to pray for diverse problems. She

prayed the prayer of faith and anointed folks with oil in the name of Jesus and they

were delivered! We do have the privilege to access the Throne of Grace; we are

truly blessed. This is awesome but in these modernized days, our first attempt

when we are feeling sick is to visit the doctor but this was our last resort! I

reminiscent on the days, when I was afflicted by what I could not see nor

understand and I had what seemed to be elephantiasis. I was not a Christian but my

mother summoned the church and they prayed the prayer of faith and laid their

hands on me. Their prayer was fervent.

As I mentioned in ―Demons are Real and Turn Around and see the Lord‖, I was

very ill when I migrated to Canada! My signs and symptoms were odd and scary. I

had felt creepy, crawling things in my head and on my body and when I looked

there was nothing I could detect with the naked eye. I have had the thrust or the

penetration of something very sharp in certain parts of my body. This was

frightening and excruciating, nevertheless, I had the stamina to be an over-comer.

During the onset of my ordeal, I had not accepted the Lord as my personal Savior.

I did not know how to pray even though I was drawn into many prayer meetings

prior to my trouble but why would I learn to pray when I knew not Jesus.

God, however, orchestrated every step I took. I was a nervous wreck, feeling the

pinch and prick of something very sharp, I just had to breathe out at times, Jesus,

Jesus, help me. I knew he could help but I needed a relationship with Him. I

believe I was called from my mother’s womb to be an expression of the love of

Jesus to this dyeing and discouraging world. My mother named me Joy and it was

her prayer that kept me until I succumbed to the call of God. I yielded to Him like

Mary the mother of Jesus.

I took a bold step of faith as a cousin of mine encouraged me to accept Jesus as my

savior. Immediately after I got saved, God sent a mentor who was a prayer warrior.

He taught me how to pray and fast and helped me to study the Bible. In the initial

stages, he started praying, than he asked me to lead out in prayer. I do not even

know what I was saying those days but in a while I was transformed into a prayer

stalwart. We began to go from house to house to conduct prayer meetings, and

were we ever in demand?

I vividly remember one of those power packed prayer meeting. It was a Saturday

Evening we went to pray for a woman whose house was invaded with demonic
spirit! We sang the old sacred hymns, sweet hour of prayer, blessed hour of prayer,

Tis a blessed hour of prayer when our hearts lowly bent. Tis so sweet to trust in

Jesus! The presence of Almighty God was awesome in that place; the aroma of His

presence swept through and we began to praise, worship, giving thanks, with

intercession and supplication.

God moved by his Spirit in that woman’s house and all were immensely blessed.

We concluded, so we thought, I was still sitting on the floor with my back facing

the couch. All of a sudden a surge of energy lifted me from the ground and I was

lead toward this gentle man. I have never had such encounter before, I was in awe

but I could not resist what had happened. I was led to the man and to my

astonishment my hand reached to anoint his head and throat, my hand moved down

his thoracic cavity. This is where you will find the heart and the lungs separated by

the diaphragm. My hand anointed this area and it proceeded to the centre of belly

or the abdominal cavity. This is where you find all the other important organs.

My hand anointed this area and then it felt as if my handed needed to go lower,

then I found myself saying, no way. A war started, my flesh riled up with dictation,

insinuation and rebellion. To my surprise, a force came upon my hand like a

whirlwind and landed my hand on the man’s pubic region. I was a very young

Christian and I was very uncomfortable but I had no control; my prayer partner

seeing what was happening came over and laid his hand on mine. What he should
have done was to put his hand undermine but that did not happen. We went home

and soon as I got in the phone rang. It was a woman who attended the prayer

meeting.

She said, the man who was prayed for was congested and taking antibiotic and was

also impotent, that night the chest pain and congestion ceased and he was

delivered. We shall hands on the sick and they shall recover. This is what Mark

16:16-17 says, ―Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does

not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who

believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it

will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will

get well."

So God was working in my life through prayer and fasting and many had received

healing and deliverance but I still had no understanding of what God was doing. As

a matter of fact, I had not seriously analyzed the mighty work of the Holy Spirit

but one day after I sponsored my two daughters, one arrived with a very severe

ears infection. She had this chronic physical situation in Jamaica and had gone to

see the doctor because her ears had exhumed blood and pus. My daughter cried in

agony her for ears for many weeks so I said to her, go and see the doctor. I had not

thought about praying for her. One reason for that might have been the concepts
that I have that if you do not accept the healer in your life do not seek the healing,

so it did not occur to me to pray for her.

After she visited the doctor, she still cried for her ears and as a mother I could feel

her pain, I then heard the still small voice of the Holy Spirit saying to me, put your

right and left index finger into her ears and pray for her. I responded instanteously

and placed both fingers in her ears. I prayed the prayer of faith for her and from

that moment until today she has not had another earache. What a healing Jesus we

serve. We do have so much working for use; we can use the word of God to pray

about that particular situation and our God promised to watch over His word to

perform it.

All that time God was working by His Spirit in my life but I had not delve into the

wondrous work that was been done. Now, I am aware of the river of life which

when flowing freely through the believer will cause the lame to walk and the blind

to see. The River of life will open prison doors and set the captives free. Let Him

flow out of you in Jesus name. When you give yourself to prayer and fasting great

things will happen. Transformation, healing, deliverance will be evident in your

life. Is it not amazing that the church was given birth to in the Upper room. They

were praying when the promised Holy Ghost descended upon them. Anything of

value in the Kingdom of God is initiated and depended upon prayer. Prayer is my

chief business; it is my middle name. Let us continue to pray continually and pull
out your hands from out of your pockets and begin to lay hands on whosoever will

The prayer of faith and the laying on of hands are vital in the progression of the

Christian life! Use those holy hands of yours in Jesus holy name.

Encouragement: When we give ourselves to prayer and fasting great things will

happen. Transformation, healing, deliverance will be evident in our lives! Is it not

amazing that the church was given birth to in the Upper room! They were praying

when the promised Holy Ghost descended upon them!

Prayer: Father, your word says that the prayer of faith will cause the sick to be

healed and if he has committed any sin, it will be forgiven! Thank you for

forgiveness and healing through prayer and the laying on of hands!

Chapter 7

Healing is the Children’s Bread

The laying on of hands and the prayer of faith

Prayer is an exercise that is spiritual and very much therapeutic! Prayer is

submitting and seeking assistance from a higher power. This help comes from the

One who abides in unapproachable light! He is eternal, immortal, invisible, the

only wise God! Prayer is more profound than we can comprehend and the

potency of this discipline has gotten the attention of Psychologists and Scientists!

When I studied Addiction Social Worker, I discovered that some Psychologists’

have found that prayer is very important and powerful in their researches!

An account is given about two sets of critically ill persons who were placed in two

separate rooms and prayer was offered for one group. What they had discovered
was that this group was more hopeful, stronger and they outlived the group that

was not prayed for. I also read about a Christian Psychologist who prayed for all

his patients and had seemed marked improvement in his patient’s health. The

healing of prayer is beyond man’s comprehension but I thank God for the privilege

and access to pray.

Pray was a sacred exercise demonstrated by Jesus. He often times departed to a

place of solitude to pray to his father! He taught the disciples how to pray in

Matthew 6: 9-13; this, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in

heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have

forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil

one.

One thing of utmost importance in the Gospel is the Upper room encounter those

disciples had as they gathered to pray and wait for the promised comforter; that

was the Holy Ghost. After the descent of the Holy Ghost, they were all endowed

with power for service! They were not anxious about anything, they prayed about

everything. Thousands were added to the church daily and there were diverse

healings and miracles! When these folks prayed, they turned the place upside down

and angels were released to set the captive free. One example was Peter bound in
jail but the folk prayed fervently and an angel was released to open the prison door

and set him free.

Upon studying the Gospels, I was driven with a drive and zest to be like these

prayer warriors. I began to pray God, if they were that effective and powerful,

nothing is impossible to them who believe. There was an intense quickening in my

spirit that caused to set aside a period of time to pray! Then the Lord allowed a

friend of mine who was prayer warrior himself to introduce me to a pastor who is

an intercessor and prayer warrior. We began to pray over the phone, then we met

on several occasions to pray for the Bible says where two or three are gathered, He

is in the midst! Matthew 18: 18-19 says, ―Again, I tell you that if two of you on

earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in

heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them‖.

Men ought to always pray and not faint. 1John 5:14-15 says, ―This is the

confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his

will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know

that we have what we asked of Him‖. Wow, Hebrews 4:16 says ―Let us then

approach the Throne of Grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and

find grace to help us in our time of need‖. One thing I have noticed about prayer is

that things begin to happen. One more person was added to us and in a matter of
time; I had 8-10 persons coming to prayer meeting! As the disciples prayed folks

were added to the early church daily, nothing has changed; we just need to pray!

What was and is also remarkable were the many occurrences of healings and

deliverances and complex court cases that were thrown out! It was and it is an

atmosphere of signs and wonders. One day I received a call from a member of the

group saying, I have a friend who need prayer desperately! I asked what the

problem was and he said something is trying to strangle him and he is very

terrified! I said to him, bring him to the prayer meeting and he did! We

commenced in praise and worship and all of a sudden, I heard a thunderous

resounding voice hollering! The sound that came this young man if we were not

exercised about these strange happening we would ran out of that prayer room like

the sons of Sceva in Acts chapter 19.

He went down on his knees and wallowed on the ground, hounding like a blood-

hound and all of sudden we laid hold of him as the Spirit of God led and prayed

until he was delivered. In less than 2 months we had not heard from him, then the

good news came that he was looking for an apartment for he was planning to get

marry! Well, I am please to say that he is married and we have not heard from him

since then! To God be the glory, Jesus healed some and told them to go and show

themselves to the public. God has not changed, He is still moving by His Spirit all

over the world.

Prayer is the one the most powerful forces available to do exceedingly more than

we can think or imagine. It does not matter what you are going through take it to

the Lord in prayer! I love this song writer; he penned the song, I must tell Jesus all

of my troubles. I cannot bear this burden alone! I must Jesus! I must tell Jesus,

only Jesus can help me, only Jesus alone. One of the most disheartening things an

individual do wrestle with is death; even though we know that it is appointed unto

man once to die and then the judgment. When it is uttered by a physician, some

people tend to sink right into depression or the spirit of fear lurks right in and one

succumbs to death. Some time we have to bear in mind that departing from this life

can be premature and one has got to be discerning of this!

Life is a progression of varied experiences good and bad and such experiences

work out at times to be our school master. It was about twelve years ago a young

man very odd or eccentric entered my home church! He was very energetic and

enthusiastic but not very articulate! It does not matter how he interacted, he was

very excited when testified about Jesus! There were some folks who wanted him

quiet but no way, this young man would not let them. He would dance from back

of the church straight to the rostrum, he was very bold. He was of great help to

others, whatsoever they desired, you just have to ask and he was right there. One
could say that he was a handy man! This character was so versatile; he acted in one

of my plays and performed exceptionally well.

His life was a mess! He was a street man and was very short- tempered! He was

also very sensitive and was easily agitated! It so happened that he got into trouble

with the Law and his health was not good at all. He was apprehended by Police and

was in jail for a while as a result his health deteriorated drastically! The doctor had

diagnosed his problem and pronounced that he was incurable. As a matter of fact a

moment had come when the doctor gave him 30 days to live. During this period of

time a friend of his clinged very close to him to take care of his every need,

attending court hearings and visiting him at jail. The doctor had called her to

inform His mother of his impending death so she was making all kinds of

arrangement for him to go back to his home country- Jamaica and die. When I

heard of this story outlined to me on the phone, something moved in my innermost

being. I was concerned and greatly disappointed that we were aligning ourselves

with the doctor’s report.

I said to this individual, please make an arrangement and get him in the prayer

meeting. I asked, what kind of God do we serve? Does he not answer prayer and

heal as He did in olden days. Jesus is our Divine Healer! Jehovah- Rapha is the

same yesterday, today and forever. It was the importunate moment and the prayer

team met together. That night the presence of Almighty God was awesome in the
room and in stepped this young man. He was white, pale and weak! He looked so

drained as he limped to take his seat. His condition did baffle me, but I had faith in

God who specializes in things that are impossible. I asked someone to put a chair

in the middle of the room and I beckoned to him to take a seat, I could hear the

small voice of the Holy Spirit saying do what James 5: 13-16 says, so I asked each

member of the prayer team to draw closer and laid their hands upon him and the

pray the prayer of faith which I believe is the word of God. James 5: 13-16 says,

―Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing

songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to

pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer

offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has

sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for

each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful

and effective.

We commanded the spirit of death to loose this young man and we release

resurrection power and life to saturate his body! Jesus once upon a time called

Lazarus from the dead who were dead. He was not dead, not yet but God’s hand

finger had reached into his innermost being and started to heal him from that

moment. What we must bear in mind that healing can be instantaneous or

progressive. Thank God he had lived beyond 30 days and it is now going a year
since the doctor diagnosed death. After the 30 days period, he had bumped into one

of the doctors who knew about his situation and he said, are you still here? As far

as I know you should have been gone a while back but you are still here. Man does

not determine when one departs from this life. On the other hand, if we did not

intervene and prove God according to His word, I believe he would have died.

I am excited about this all- powerful God! We rejoiced and were encouraged to

stand in the gap to be God’s hands and feet reaching out to the oppressed. One day

I received a call that this individual was hospitalized in serious condition at St

Joseph Hospital! I had not panicked, I know things do happen, so I called one my

prayer partners; I said to her, let go and see him right away. I must confess that

when I saw him my flesh was saying this is it! He was in intensive care with

intravenous tubes all over his body. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, guide and

one who strengthens us! I heard the still small voice of the Holy Spirit saying

praying the word of God over him and anoint him from his head to his toes. I then

began to anoint his left side and prayed the word of God over his life. I then asked

the lady who a accompanied me to anointing and pray over his other side, then we

exchange sides. His feet had swollen to the size of a 40lbs jackfruit and this was a

frightening situation but faith stood firm in speaking the word of God and the

laying on of our hands.

God is to be praised! We left that place believing God would do it again. We went

back the following week and the swelling had gone down and his health was

greatly improved. We will have to learn to be fervent in our prayer and very

sensitive to the Holy Spirit and use what you are possessed with! The greater one

lives in you, the living river of water dwells in you so let him flow out the greater

works. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Prayer and the Laying on of hands is a very powerful force and needs to be

practiced by the believer! We are blessed to have access to the Throne of Grace,

therefore always remember who you are in Christ Jesus! Mark 16:17-18 says,

―And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive

out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their

hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will

place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

Encouragement: Prayer is the one of the most powerful forces available to us to

do exceedingly abundantly more than we can think or imagine. It does not matter

what you are going through take it to the Lord in prayer

Prayer: Heavenly father of Mercy and grace, I thank you for access to the Throne

Room and the privilege to come to you when I am weary and heavy- laden. I know
that if I enter boldly with confidence, you will grant me my petition in Jesus name.

Amen!

Chapter 8

Healing is the Children’s Bread

Sign and wonders shall follow them that believe

Mark 16:17-18says And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my

name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up

snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at

all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." It was a

very bright summer day, the green trees had budded, blossomed and bees and birds

could be heard as they chirped and buzzed to and fro. The hum and drum of

activities on that particular day was with great enthusiasm and I was caught up in

the moment. My phone rang and I rushed to pick it up excitedly not know what

was awaiting me. Had we known everything that would happen in our lives, we

would be cautious, prepared, and ready equipped for whatever we may encounter.
Human are finite beings and will not be able to figure out certain phenomenon of

life until it is manifested or revealed. I answered the phone and a female voice said,

Reverend Joy, how are you? I said, I am fine, thank you. And how are you? She

said, Reverend Joy, I have a desperate situation and feel led to call you to help.

This was a woman I met at a particular Church, she was from Zimbabwe. She

exclaimed, my friend is hospitalized and very much comotized. She mentioned that

at intervals a thunderous voice would bellow out of her, frightening off every one.

Right away I perceived that this was a demonic problem.

She said Reverend Joy I would love for you to go and pray for my friend! Under

my breathe I was saying in the name of Jesus, I am not going. I felt a chill of

coldness or nervousness penetrated my body and I began to stutter but she was

persistent. She said you have to Rev, the doctors had given upon her and the

husband was called in and given instruction to make funeral arrangements. She

said Reverend if you go and pray, I believe God will do something.

I wholeheartedly tried to back out of this thing but there was no way out, so I

demonstrated wisdom and said the Bible says some of these things come not but by

prayer and fasting. I said to her, this sounds like demonic possession and I have to

seek the Lord! I told her that I can’t go there by myself. I need the power of

agreement the word of the Lord says, I may chase a thousand and two put ten

thousand to flight. Matthew 18: 18-19 says, ―Again, I tell you that if two of you on
earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in

heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

I hanged up the phone and I muttered to myself saying, there is absolutely no

way I am going to this place alone, not to mention, I had just started to pursue the

call of God on my life; I was a little bit nervous, remembering what happened to

the sons of Scveva, one has got to be cautious. I called a minister friend of mine

and related the whole situation to her, right away she said, no way. I do not want

those demons to leap at me. I was very disappointed so I hanged up the phone and

began to pace the floor! I paced and paced and paced the floor saying but God

aren’t we supposed to be empowered to deal with these thing? Should there not be

a demonstration of Spirit and power among the brethren especially ministers of the

Gospel! When there is a demonic invasion or the enemy comes in like a flood,

should not the Holy Spirit lift up a standard in us to do the greater work in us. The

Bible says that when the enemy comes in like a flood the Holy Spirit will lift up a

standard. In Acts 16 evil spirit taunted Paul and Silas. Once when they were going

to the place of prayer, they met a slave girl who had a spirit by which she

predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-

telling. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are

servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." She kept

this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and
said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!"

At that moment the spirit left her.

There was demonstration of Spirit and power in the early church I said out loud!

Acts 13:6-12 says, ―The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went

down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. When they arrived at Salamis,

they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as

their helper. They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos.

There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, who was an

attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent

for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. But Elymas the

sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the

proconsul from the faith. Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy

Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, "You are a child of the devil and an

enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery.

Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? Now the hand of the

Lord is against you. You are going to be blind, and for a time you will be unable to

see the light of the sun."

Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking

someone to lead him by the hand. When the proconsul saw what had happened, he
believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord. I thought about the

mighty move of the Spirit among the early believers and I said I just need one

person to agree with me and right away the still small voice of the Holy Ghost said

call Reverend Andrews. He is my spiritual father; he was not anxious about

anything. I explained the situation to him and he said, I will have to go and seek

the Lord and call you back. In a few days, he called and said we could go the

following Wednesday. I really thought I had gotten all the information about this

particular situation but to my dismay, no. Eventually we arrived at this friend’s

home because we were told that we could not go to the hospital.

I must admit that I was flabbergasted, when we knocked at the door and it was

opened, people were crammed in that place like a pack of sardines. We pressed our

way through and finally reached the forefront of the gathering; then we were

introduced to the crowd. There was a spirit of expectancy and high energy in that

place. I joyfully greeted this group of people, and then I introduced my friend and

prayer partner. All these people who gathered together on that day were the sick

lady’s friends! Before we commenced the praying, I was impressed by the Holy

Spirit to ask if every were saved! The answer was a resounding yes! That was not

the case for the Holy Ghost is very wise! You will see why I say so later.
They came from near and far; they loved their friend and they were moved with

bowels of compassion to do something extraordinary to prove the Balm in Gilead!

Some of them were much sneaky but they were exercising faith for the deliverance

of their friend. Later, I understood that they were not all saved but in concerted

belief and trust they proved God. Thinking about it today, I believe this is

awesome, for if the Body of Christ would ever show this interest and exercise faith

for those who are hurting, what a miraculous time we would in our walk of faith. It

is imperative that we exercise gigantic faith in these trying and last days.

This particular evening was phenomenal. The voices were blended together as we

praised and worshiped God. It was a unified voice and the aroma of the Holy One

was there! The experience was electrifying and dynamic. This was an

extraordinary situation; this was warfare and we were not gathered to have a

picnic! It was warfare, so we instructed the gathering that we were going to face

the four corners of that vicinity and take authority over all demonic interferences.

We waged warfare for the hospital where she was admitted. We bind and loose

according to the word of God. Matthew 18: 18-20 says, ―"I tell you the truth,

whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on

earth will be loosed in heaven. "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree

about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For

where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

Jesus called Lazarus from the grave and he was resurrected. We called this woman

by her name and commanded her to rise up out of bed and walk! We decree that

the energy of the Holy Ghost would infiltrate her body and loose her. Oh, my,

when I looked at the people’s faces, tearing was running down as they cried out to

God. Wow, their faith moved God, something miraculous and extraordinary

happened. The following Monday I got a call and this voice was one of excitement.

She exclaimed Rev, Rev, I am excited to God be the glory. She said, my friend got

up this morning and began to speak soberly to her husband and friends. She praised

and rejoiced in the Lord; what the enemy meant for evil God turned it around for

good. It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment but when it is not

your appointed time, premature death will have to take its flight.

I was introduced to her and in a matter of days she was discharged from the

hospital. She had to do physiotherapy for a few weeks and in little while,

everything was back to norm. The prayer of faith will cause the sick to be healed.

What a healing Jesus we serve? It was his body that was broken and bruised for

our infirmities! He became cure that we may be a blessing. He became poor so that

we might be rich. Isaiah 53: 3-5 says, ―He was despised and rejected by men, a

man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their

faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities

and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him,
and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our

iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his stripes

we healed‖.

1 Peter 2:24 says, ―He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we

might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

In my pursuit of higher education, I had no interest in typing, as a matter of this

subject was a business one and I was science inclined. I was also computer

illiterate so one of my editors used to type my manuscript and sermons. She is a

fun to be around and an ardent worker. I remembered one day she was working on

my manuscript and one word was not legible at all so she waited for me to tell her

what the word was. Well, to my astonishment and at the same time embarrassing, I

could not make out what the word was.

She snapped at me saying, if you cannot make out your damn handwriting, do you

expect me to. I humbly responded, no. so she said I am going to give you a few

lessons in typing so you could type your sermons, I said, ok. From that moment, I

started my lesson and I proud to say that I have not gone back to her on a weekly

basis for help. One evening I got a call from my editor and she was rather

depressed. I asked her was the matter and she said, I just got in from the doctor and

he discovered cancer cell in my left breast. She said, I can’t handle this right now
so I began to encourage her. I asked her, do you not believe that God can heal you

and she said yes? As you know very well; that I do agree with praying for someone

healing, when they do not know the healer.

I said to her I am going to pray for you but let me forewarn you, if I speak in

tongues, please do not drop the phone, it is just one of those things that happen

when I pray. This is a woman who had accompanied me to many Ladies

Convention and had seen the healing Hand of God. I lift my voice to Jehovah-

rapha and I began to exalt and praised His name. I felt the presence of Almighty

God and I know his finger and His hand was about to move. I pray the word of

God over her life and in matter of 3 weeks when she went back to doctor and

examined her breast; there was not one trace of cancer in her breast.

What can make us whole again, it is nothing but the blood of Jesus. The prayer of

faith will cause the sick to be healed .James 5: 13-18 says, ―Is any one of you in

trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one

of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint

him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the

sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may

be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Lay hold of
His word, it will make you whole. Proverbs 4:20-23 says,‖ My son, pay attention

to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep

them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a

man's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

Encouragement: The prayer of faith will cause the sick to be healed. What a healing

Jesus we serve! It was his body that was broken and bruised for our infirmities! He

became cure that we may be a blessing. He became poor so that we might be rich.

Isaiah 53: 3-5 says, ―He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and

familiar with suffering.

Prayer: what a healing Jesus you are! You are the Balm in Gilead and you have

not changed, sympathizing and compassionate. Thank you that healing is the

Children’s Bread and I am partaker of this special grace in Jesus precious name.

Amen.
Chapter 9

Healing is the Children’s Bread

Jesus the great Physician

Sin’s upheaval in the ―Garden of Eden or Delight‖ initiated a confrontation

between God and Satan. Genesis 3:15 says, ―And I will put enmity between you

and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and

you will strike his heel." It is quite apparent that the Serpent used the Eve to bring

down the human race but God intercepted his plan by choosing another woman to

be the conveyor of the seed of salvation. John 3:16 says, ―For God so loved the

world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not

perish but have eternal life‖. So here is the Scripture that collaborate with

Galatians 4:4-5; But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a

woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full

rights of sons.

Our first fore-parents broke the divine commandment and so all have sinned and

falls short of the glory of God. There was an apparent gap or silence between God

and man and this lasted for about 4000 years. God is a promise keeper! What He

promised He is faithful to bring to pass. Numbers 23: 19 says, ―God is not a man,

that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak

and then not act? He promise and not fulfill? So after 4000 years, Galatians 4:4

was fulfilled. The life of this woman God chose is a very intriguing one and I relish

the master plan of God; to the skeptic and agnostics this story is very much

nonsensical. This chosen woman had just gotten engaged to the love of her life and
I believe excitedly he looking forward to consummate the marriage. From a

woman’s perspective I believe she was thinking about bearing children for her

beloved hubby which was Joseph. In all this excitement and expectation, she had

an encounter with the messenger, Gabriel. Gabriel announced to her God’s

salvation plan for humanity and that she was to be the conveyor of the seed of

promise. Genesis 3: 15 say, ―And I will put enmity between you and the woman,

and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike

his heel."

Humanly speaking Mary could not comprehend the divine conception, so she

questioned the messenger. Believe me, at times it is appropriate to question God if

you need clarity. I believe this question of interest baffled her mind! How can a

woman become pregnant void of sexual intercourse? Just thinking about the

biological aspect of this woman’s situation tells that it is impossible. If there is no

seed, do not expect to reap a crop so it is with the sperm. If there is no sperm, there

won’t be any pregnancy. This is humanly speaking; God it seemed had a master

plan that is why we can describe Him as being omnipotent.

It is quite apparent that this pregnancy or conception was a spiritual one- what we

refer to as the incarnation. God become flesh and was developed in the womb of a

woman for a period of time. Mary wrestled with this mind- boggling conception
but it was of God. The seed of salvation was to bridge the gap between God and

man. Satan disrupted the divine plan of God and deceived Eve but God chose Mary

to fulfill His plan. God is awesome. When the angel testified about her relative

being pregnant with seed to be her for-runner, she humbly yielded to God and said

be it unto me according unto your word.

The promised seed, the seed of salvation to redeem humanity from the curse of law

indwelt her for awhile and was delivered full of grace and truth. Mary gave birth to

the healer of humanity’s problems. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Virtue

flowed out of him to the multitude as they gathered around him and many pressed

to touch him. This is what he Says, when he went into the synagogue. Luke 4:66-

22 says, ―He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath

day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read. The

scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place

where it is written: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to

preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the

prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim

the year of the Lord's favor. Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the

attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on

him, and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your
hearing." All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came

from his lips. "Isn't this Joseph's son?" they asked.

This what Acts 10: 38 say about him: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the

Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who

were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. Jesus is a miracle

working God. Healing was evident in his ministry and he is the still the divine

healer. Greater things shall we do because he promised us. John 14: 12-14 says, ―I

tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He

will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will

do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.

You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus healed Malacus ear when Peter chopped it off. On the way to be crucified, he

healed this man! Jesus is still in the healing business so it does not matter what you

are experiencing right now, press towards touching the hem of his garment. Lay

hold of his word and believe that by his stripes you are healed. Isaiah 53: 4-5 says,

―Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him

stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our

transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us

peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 2 Peters 2: 24 says, ―He
himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live

for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

I do not know how long you have been bowed down by that situation but Jesus is

passing your name right now as you read. The Bible says that this particular

woman was bowed down by a spirit of infirmity for 18 years. What is a spirit of

infirmity? She suffered for a long time but Jesus showed up one day and said to her

woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. Luke 13: 10-12 says, ―On a Sabbath

Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had

been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not

straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her,

"Woman, you are set free from your infirmity." Then he put his hands on her, and

immediately she straightened up and praised God‖.

As you read, I stand in the gap and say that you are loosed from that infirmity in

Jesus name. Jesus bored your infirmities in his body when he was broken on the

cross. Matthew 8: 16-17 says, ―When evening came, many who were demon-

possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed

all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: He

took up our infirmities and carried our diseases." Isaiah 53:4 says, ―Surely he took

up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted. Jesus became cure so that we will be a blessing! He

became poor that we may be rich. We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

We are in Christ redemption, wisdom and sanctification.

I speak the words, you are loosed! These words are alive and active and sharp

enough to cut, penetrate into chronic, paralyzed and dead situations! The power

and authority that constitutes the word will give life and restoration. The woman

straightened up and was made whole. The word has power to raise you up but it

had to be uttered! An anointed vessel needs to prophesy over that dead situation.

Say out loud what the word say about that situation and watch what the finger and

hand of God will do. Do not try to fathom God, there no searching of his

understanding. The things that He does desires and expects at times can be very

odd or eccentric but believe and do what he asks of you.

The Bible gives an account of Jesus been the healer in Mark: 22-26; they came to

Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.

He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had

spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see

anything?" He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking

around." Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were

opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus sent him
home, saying, and ―Don't go into the village. This is a very eccentric story and one

that can be considered unhygienic. This blind man sought Jesus to heal him and he

took the man by his hand to the outside of the town, spat on his eyes and put his

hands upon him and asked if he saw anything.

Now, remember that Jesus was the word but the Bible declares that he used his

finger and put it into the man’s ears. Jesus was the healer; virtue had flowed into

the man’s eyes and healed him. Why did he use spittle? He was the healer, he

could have touched him and the man could be healed! So it was with Hezekiah,

God could have healed him as well but God told Isaiah to put fig on the boils and

the Bible says that he had recovered. He specializes in the base things, the despised

and the nonsensical phenomena. Yes, He alone is God. Corinthians 1: 25-31 says,

―For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God

is stronger than man's strength. Brothers, think of what you were when you were

called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential;

not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to

shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He

chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that

are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is

because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from
God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is

written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.

Jesus asked the man if he could see. The man looked and he said, I see men

walking as trees. His healing was not complete but it is quite apparent the process

had begun. There was still dimness and what one will have to bear in mind is the

fact that healing can be either instantaneous or progressive. What did Jesus do? He

put his finger upon the man’s eyes and when he looked he was completely

restored. Your situation may be similar to the man’s situation but Jesus is still in

the healing business. The Holy Spirit impressed upon my Spirit that apart from

physical healing we need spiritual healing as well. We need to lead by the Spirit of

the Living God; with His light in your eyes we will have the understanding of who

He is and get to know Him better. We will be able to know the truth and it will not

be distorted, twisted or covered up. What a healing Jesus we serve? In Mark 7:

32-37 is another interesting account of Jesus healing a man. There some people

brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to

place his hand on the man. After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus

put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue. He

looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (Which

means, ―Be opened?‖). At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was

loosened and he began to speak plainly. Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone.
But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. People were

overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said. "He even

makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."

These folks brought this man to Jesus because they desired him to touch him with

his hands. There was something miraculous about his hands. He used his fingers to

cast out demons and his finger is symbol of his word. The Bible says, Jesus took

the man aside from the multitude and put his fingers into the ears, and he spat, and

touched his tongue. This to me was very obnoxious and unhygienic; let us be

imaginative and realistic for a little while, in these last days. one would consider

Jesus to be lunatic or imbecile, insane or a mad person. We would recommend

such a person to see a psychologist immediately.

The Bible says that Jesus looked up to heaven, and signed and said unto him,

Ephphatha, that is, be opened and immediately his ears were opened, and the string

of his tongue was loosed and he spoke plain. This was an astounding miracle of

healing through Jesus. The good news spread rapidly throughout the region and

everyone said he does all things well. Jesus made the deaf to hear and the dumb to

speak. God is good. Exodus 4:11 says, ―The LORD said to him, "Who gave man

his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him
blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Nothing is impossible to them who believe. Luke 1:

For nothing is impossible with God."

When the Body of Christ takes a keen look at these two words, test and mess; one

can identify with these words and if we only understand the process then the test

will be a testimony and the mess a message. One’s healing, as I mentioned before

can be either instantaneous or progressive. We need to be patient and believe in

God like Brother Job. I love James 3:2-4 says, ―Consider it pure joy, my brothers,

whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your

faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be

mature and complete, not lacking anything.

My life was very excited; I had just gotten married and had my first daughter when

all of a sudden trouble incomprehensible brewed over me. I did not know what to

do and of course I know not the Lord as my personal Savior. The storms of life

assailed me with a demonic aroma (Read my book Demons are real). Those days I

was so ill I could not remember the days of the week. I was weak and pale could

only drag myself to and fro. I had what seemed to be called Elephantiasis in my

left leg. This was very unattractive, big, and black and weighed about 20 lbs. my

ordeal was fiery, I actually thought, I was sitting in hell; because of what I

experienced, I succumbed to the will of God like Mary the mother of Jesus.
I was cured but I was caught up in fulfilling my desires. I couldn’t make up my

mind to serve God wholeheartedly. During this rebellious stage in my life, I

noticed that my left foot was a little swollen but I paid no attention to it. I was

steeped in sin and so it was my foot got bigger and bigger that I could not wear my

slippers anymore. During this time of my life, I heard the still small voice of the

Holy Ghost saying, examine the life style of the children of Israel; when they

turned away from me , they were held captives by other nations. They faced

insurmountable problems and I delivered them when they turned to me. The voice

of the Holy Spirit said to me, you will have to yield to God as well. The voice said

I will heal you at my appointed time.

I wanted it then and there. I fasted, prayed, beseeched God to come to my rescue

but nothing happened. I asked to remove the affliction but this blatant mark was

upon my life. I joined the prayer line of great Elites of the Gospel for them to lay

their hands on me, it so happened that they did not even look at me. I asked God,

how could they not see? I was standing under their noses and they walked right

pass me and touched someone else. I knew not the Word of God about suffering. 1

Peter 1:6-7 says, ―In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may

have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—

of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be

proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is
revealed‖. 1 Peter1: 12-13 says, ―Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful

trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But

rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be

overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

The Holy Spirit has always been there speaking and consoling me. I remember His

still small voice saying, your healing will not come through the laying on of man’s

hand. You will have to serve me and look to me wholeheartedly and I will do it in

due season. I was impatient but one thing I learnt is that God is in control. I did not

know the word of Lord in James. James 1: 2-4 says, ―Consider it pure joy, my

brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the

testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so

that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

I wanted God’s righteous hand to move on my situation so I emulated all the

outstanding Bible characters who moved God into their diverse and adverse

situations. My situation was not a life and death situation but I turned my face to

the wall like King Hezekiah and I wept bitterly before God and guess what I heard

my grace is sufficient. The Apostle had a thorn in the flesh which no one is certain

of. 2 Corinthians 12: 7-10 says, ―To keep me from becoming conceited because of

these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a

messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it

away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is

made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my

weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I

delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For

when I am weak, then I am strong.

I have a legitimate reason to be dejected at the time because some believe that if

you are not healed, one cannot be effective in Ministry. I was ashamed and I talked

to God about my concerns and desires but I heard the voice saying, at my

appointed time. Shortly after I received the word that His grace is sufficient for

me, my spiritual father called me and said the Apostle Paul asked God to take

away his infirmity and the answer was my grace is sufficient for you. He said to

me if you have to sit down and preach the word of God, you will have to do so. I

continued in prayer and fasting and I heard the voice saying, your healing is

progressive.

One night I cried bitterly before God and went to bed and had a very interesting

dream! I saw myself in this dream massaging my leg upward and downward but I

was using the knuckles of both hands. I feel like praising God, because Jesus used

his hand to cast out evil spirit and he used his hand to touch many folks who
needed deliverances and healing. In the morning when I woke up the image of the

dream was fresh in my mind so I inquired of the Lord what to do and He said to

me, do what you have seen. So I started to massage my left every day in the motion

showed for a few months. I must admit that this process was very tiresome, so after

awhile I went to see a massage therapist to do the job.

She did a wonderful Job for almost a year but one day the still small voice of the

Holy Spirit said to me, you have disobeyed the directives given to you for the

healing of your leg so your healing is stalled. The voice said this assignment is

yours and should be done by you. The voice said use your hand on yourself, this is

to build your faith for your healing is progressive. I must admit that I was irate. It

was too much massaging this swollen foot of mine. I asked God, why this motion

but the Holy One impressed upon my Spirit that His ways are pasted finding out.

He said to me I instructed Isaiah to put fig on Hezekiah boil and he was healed. Job

my servant worshipped though he lost everything but I healed him and gave him

double for his trouble.

The voice said, Jesus could have healed the blind man by his word but he put his

finger and used spittle and mud. God used the foolish and insignificant things to

confound the wise and also to teach us wisdom. I stopped seeing the Therapist and

begin to knuckle my foot again. After awhile I saw myself in a dream shoving my
feet in a pair of beautiful slippers. I still continued to fast, pray and massage my

foot but the process was so slow. I had to learn to cease from complaining and to

trust God wholeheartedly. I was uncomfortable doing the things of God; reminded

of the affliction, having to drag it with me every day was not a cool thing.

Preaching and dragging this heavy load was not easy, yet the still small voice was

saying, I have never failed you. Look to me and you will experience healing in

your flesh because Jehovah- rapha is the divine healer. It was working out for my

testimony, message and good report to impart to someone. We do need our land to

be healed at times. What is that chronic, physical, emotional situations you are

facing. Yes, it may be painful and the signs and symptoms are evident. It has been

a very long time and your situation is getting worst. Do not succumb to fear but dig

in your heel, brush off yourself, set your face upon God intently and He will see

you thought. Do not let this word depart from your eyes; keep in the midst of your

heart, for it is life unto them that finds and health unto your flesh. There is wonder

working power in the word and blood of Jesus to healed mankind of their sin and

problems. If you are bowed down, have an issue, being a barren, cripple, dumb or

blind. What a healing Jesus? The Balm in Gilead, the great physician, the

sympathizing God is the same Jehovahrapha. Let His finger and his hand touch

you right now.

Encouragement: Do succumb to fear but dig in your heel, brush off yourself, set

your face upon God intently and He will see you thought. Do not let this word

depart from your eyes; keep in the midst of your heart, for it is life unto them that

finds and health unto your flesh.

Prayer: Father thank you that healing is the Children’s Bread, so I am going to eat

your Word and read your Word until it becomes life to me and health to my flesh.

Let the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be acceptable in your

sight, oh Lord my strength and my salvation.Amen.

Chapter 10

Healing is the Children Bread

The hand of God

Isaiah 59:1, ―Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save‖.
Acts 4:30, ―By stretching forth your Hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may

by the name of your Holy Child Jesus. According to Zondervan’s Pictorial

Dictionary, hand is one of the most frequently used words in scripture, occurring

over 1,600 times. Besides its literal use, it occurs in many figurative senses as well.

It very often stands for power, as in Genesis chapter 9: 2, 5, ―And the fear of you

and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of

the air, upon all that moves upon the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea; into

your hand are they delivered. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at

the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man. At the hand of

every man’s brother will I require the life of man. Into your hand are they

delivered would make nonsense if taken literally, and at the hand of every beast

will I require it does not prove that beast have hands!

John 4:24 says, ―God is a spirit: and they who worship Him must worship Him in

spirit and in truth‖. God being a spirit neither has nor needs hands, yet we read of

the ―Hand of God‖ in several connections, all of which are easily understood. 1

Samuel 5:11declares, ―The hand of God was heavy there,‖ this refers to plague

which the Philistines suffered. Acts chapter 4:30 says, ―By stretching forth your

hand to heal shows God’s powerful mercy. John 10:29 says, ―No man is able to

pluck them out of the Father’s hand‖. This is great assurance for the saints of the

living God; this indicates the omnipotent protection of his own. To be placed at the
right hand of royalty is a high honor and, of course, at the ―right hand‖ of Deity is

incomparably higher.

This is something to rejoice about! We are at the right hand of God. Psalm 109:31;

16:8; tells us that our advocate stands also at our right hand to defend us. Based on

research done, it is discovered that many verses in the bible reflect a belief in an

anthropomorphic God; in other words, the Lord has a figure form with a head, face

eyes, ears, nose, mouth, back, hands and feet. I believe it is appropriate to

elaborate on the hand of God. Isaiah 48:13says, ―My hand also has laid the

foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spanned the heavens; when I call

unto them, they stand up together‖ (Deuteronomy 32:42).

Even though the hand is a useful part of the body without the fingers the work that

God desires to do in the believer’s life would have been ineffective. God used his

finger literally and spiritually to instruct, teach and guide his children that are

called by His name. Deuteronomy 9: 19 tell us that God used his finger to write

the tablets of the covenant and can you be imaginative for a while that our names

are written in the palm of his hand. (Isaiah 49:16) This is awesome. Man did not

write the inscription, God did when mankind confessed that Jesus is Lord and God

raised Him from the dead. We were then transformed and given a new names and

He is looking at our names. The bible says he know us by name and number. Even
the hairs on our heads are numbered. Nothing, no one can pluck you and me out of

His hand! He upholds us with His righteous right hand.

Throughout the bible, it is quite apparent that God’s figure form- especially his

hands plays significant roles in the creation of the earth and all living things. Psalm

92:4, says ―For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through your work: I will triumph in

the works of your hands. Isaiah 64:8 says, ―But now, O Lord are our Father; we are

the clay, and you are our potter, and we all are the works of your hand. The hand of

God is the symbol of his power: It also denotes favor (Ezra 7:6, 28; Isa. 1:25; Luke

1:66, etc.) or punishment (Ex. 9:3; Judg. 2:15; Acts 13:11, etc.).

A position at the right hand was regarded as the chief place of honor and power

(Ps. 45:9; 80:17; 110:1; Matt. 26:64). It is no coincidence that Jesus is an extension

of God. Hebrews 1:3says, ―Who being the brightness of His glory and the

expressed image of His person. And upholding all things by the power of His

word, when He had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the

majesty on high. Jesus before he ascended on high used his hand throughout his

ministry‖. Jesus hand was an extension of His father. His hand is strength, power,

and authority. And his finger – the fire of God performed great miracles!

Mark 5:23 says, ―And pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying.

Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." Mark
chapter 6:5 says, ―He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a

few sick people and heal them. Mark 7:32 says, ―There some people brought to

him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his

hand on the man‖. the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat into

his ears, and touched his tongue; and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said

unto him, ephaphathha that is, be opened. And straightway his ears were opened,

and string of his tongue was loosed and he spoke plain. It is quite evident that

even though Jesus was the son of man, healing was wrought into the lives of

people as he stretched forth his hand and touched them. This man Jesus used his

finger or his word and cast out evil spirits. The onlookers questioned, were

astonished and they said he has done all things well: he makes both the deaf to

hear, and the dumb to speak.

Everywhere he went his hand was at work as can be seen in the book of Mark

8:22-25, ―They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and

begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside

the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus

asked, "Do you see anything?" He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like

trees walking around." Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his

eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly‖.
Mark chapter 9:14-29 says, ―When they came to the other disciples, they saw a

large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. As soon as

all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet

him. "What are you arguing with them about?" he asked. A man in the crowd

answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has

robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He

foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to

drive out the spirit, but they could not." "O unbelieving generation," Jesus replied,

"how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy

to me." So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the

boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the

mouth. Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From

childhood," he answered. "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him.

But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." ―If you can'?" said Jesus.

"Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy's father

exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" When Jesus saw that a

crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. "You deaf and mute

spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." The

spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much

like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." But Jesus took him by the hand and
lifted him to his feet, and he stood up. After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples

asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" He replied, "This kind can

come out only by prayer Jesus took the lad by the hand whom the evil spirit rent

sore.

This was much more than a helping hand! Healing power permeated the boy’s

body and healed him of the damage made by the demons. Do you know that

demonic possession causes great damage to the organs of the body? Jesus was the

Nazarene, the great physician, the Balm in Gilead. His hand was at work on all

folks even the little ones according to word of God in Mark 10:13-16, ―The folks

brought Jesus their children so that he should touch them. The disciples were a

little bit disturbed but the man Jesus said suffer the little children to come unto me,

and forbid them not, for as such is the kingdom of God. In verse 16; he took them

up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. The scripture says in

Mark 16 you shall lay hands upon the sick and they shall recover. Your hand is an

extension of God’s hand! The double edged sword is in your hand. Use it in the

name of Jesus to work miracles and perform healing in the name of Jesus. His hand

is our edge of protection. He will uphold us with the righteousness of his right

hand. His hand is not shortened so that he cannot save him. Do not seek for what

he can give you materialistically. Seek first his kingdom, his power, strength,

authority, his fire and blessing.

You have got to stay at the feet of God until you know him. You have got to stay at

the feet of the Lord until he makes himself known to you in his word. Stay there

until he speaks. Stay there, hold unto him until he bless you immensely and change

your name. Yes, we shall have a new name written down in glory and it is mine

and yours. When you are battered, disgusted and bustled, there is a place we can go

to rest at the feet of God! When you are not head and you are beneath, there is a

place where we can be blessed at the feet of God! There are times when we are

weak at the feet of God but in our weakness His strength is made perfect. He

knows our needs before we speak, even before we speak he will answer us. When

we are in trouble He will deliver us at the feet of God. There’s safety from the

raging storm at the feet of God. The love that keeps us from all harm is at the feet

of God. A healing Power flows from us at the feet of God. His blood will cleanse

and make us free at the feet of God. We must hold on to him until we are

immensely, exceedingly blessed like Jacob and Patriarchs of old. We must purpose

in our heart to stay at his feet like Mary until we know Him better.

Encouragement: There are times when we are weak at the feet of God but in our

weakness his strength is made perfect. He knows our needs before we speak, even

before we speak he will answer us. When we are in trouble He will deliver us at

the feet of God.

Prayer: What a mighty God we serve, thank you father for your righteous right

hand which is not shortened to save me. Thank you that your hand has power

and authority and my name is engraved in the plan of your hand. Thank Lord, in

Jesus name. Amen.

Chapter 11

Healing is the Children’s Bread

This Supernatural Being

Exodus: 15: 11, “Who among the God’s is like you? Who is like you? Glorious

in holiness, fearless in praises, doing wonders?

Who is daring enough to question the authenticity and the wonders of this

Supernatural God? It is the fool according to the word of God. Psalm 14:1 and

Psalm 53:1 declares that it’s the fool that says in his heart that there is no God.

Others have varied opinions, for example the Atheist asserts that there is no God.

The agnostic says he cannot tell whether there is a God or not and the materialists

boasts that he does not require a God. The believer, God’s blood saint, the elect,

the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, says that he cannot do without a God.
The ungodly asserts that it is foolish to believe or give homage to a God we cannot

see with our naked eyes. They declare that seeing is believing but I believe that to

believe is seen. John chapter 6:46 ―That no one has seen the father except the one

who is from God, only he has seen the father. I do not desire to see God as He is

because He dwells in unapproachable light but through Jesus and the written I can

see this Supernatural Being. This supernatural God whom we serve has creative

power. He created man from the dust of the ground and he blew the breath of life

into mans`nostril and man became a living soul. The king after Gods’ own heart

sought about the anatomy and physiology of his being and he was inspired to

express himself in Psalm 139: 13-16 ―For you created my inmost being; you knit

me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and

wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful I know that full well. My frame was

not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven

together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days

ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be‖. This

Supernatural Being abhors darkness and emptiness. That’s why he spoke His

creative words over the earth and there was light, water, land, seed bearing plants

and trees, living creatures, fowls of the air, fish of the sea. He said, let there be and

there was and it was good. The word of the Lord says that we can call those things

that be not and it is so.

According to God’s word in John 4:24; and Isaiah 40:25, 26 this Supernatural

Being is a spirit and they that worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth!

―According to one writer this Supernatural Being is essentially and eternally spirit

and He is not confined to the limitation of matter and does not possess a human

body in any way visible to the physical eyes. He is not a God of fate. He is not

revengeful and weak. This supernatural Being is a loving and compassionate God‖.

This Supernatural Being is self-existent. He has existed throughout eternity and

shall exist to all eternity we ought to reverently bow down before him because He

is the Alpha and the Omega, our everlasting God. He has no predecessor or

successor. All nature is absolutely subject to his will and word.

All satanic hosts must bow to the power of this Supernatural Being. One

songwriter sought about the power of this Being and he sang what a mighty God

we serve? Angels bow down before Him and heaven and earth adore Him what a

mighty God we serve? In Revelation 4:8 the four creatures around the throne

worship this Supernatural Being day and night without ceasing saying holy, holy,

holy, is the Lord God almighty who was and is to come. In verse 11: the twenty

four elders around the throne of this Supernatural Being worship Him cast down

their crowns at His feet, fall down before him saying you are worthy our Lord and

God to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your

will they were created and have their being. In the next chapter, thousands and 10
thousands of angels, elders and living creatures, around the heavenly throne of the

Lamb of God, cry out with a loud voice in worship saying, worthy is the Lamb

who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor

and glory and praise. Immediately following comes worship from every created

being saying, to Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor

and glory and power forever and ever. Every knee shall bow down and worship

this Supernatural Being. Philippians 2:10-11 ―That at the name of Jesus every

knee shall bow, of things in the heaven and things under the earth; and that every

tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This Supernatural Being is all powerful! He is omnipotent. Jeremiah 32:17 says,

―Ah Sovereign, Lord, you made the heaven and the earth by your great power and

out-stretched arm, and nothing is too hard for you‖. This Supernatural Being is

powerful and because we are his children we are possessed with power to bring

into effect whatever we desire. He will gives you power to become wealthy.

(Deuteronomy 8:18) His Devine power has given us all things we need for life and

godliness through knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness

(2 Peter 1:3)

This Supernatural Being is omniscient! He has all knowledge! ―One writer

says God has intuitive simultaneous, infallible perception of himself and all other

being. Past, present and future are an open scroll to him‖. He sees all things and
nothing is hidden from his eyes that soar throughout the universe. This

Supernatural Being is omnipresent or always present, everywhere and at once. He

is the sustainer of all things universally and simultaneously in every part of the

domain and he is able to put forth his entire power in every place at one and the

same time. We cannot hide from His presence! King David had the revelation of

his Omnipresence when he penned Psalm 139:7-10 where can you go from God’s

spirit? Where can you flee from His presence? If you go to the heaven, this

Supernatural Being will meet you there! If you desire to make your bed in the

depths, there this Supernatural Being will also be. If you are think about flying, if

you rise on the wings of the dawn, if you settle on the far side of the sea, even His

hand will be there. His right hand will hold you fast. What an awesome

Supernatural Being this is.

Hebrews 12:29 says, he is a consuming fire! Do you not know that He is capable of

answering you by fire like the Prophet Elijah! Elijah had confidence that this

Supernatural Being would answer him by fire. He purposed in his heart to confront

wicked king Ahab who was married to Jezebel who had abandoned the Lord’s

commandments and followed after Baal. Baal was best known of the Canaanite

fertility god believed to be responsible for germinating crops, increasing flocks and

adding children to the community. This wicked Ahab wanted Elijah to solve the

problem of drought that was upon the land. Elijah’s’ name symbolized the message
―the Lord is God‖. His purpose was to call Israel back to this Supernatural God.

The man of God told Ahab to gather the people together from all over Israel to

meet him on Mount Carmel. This man of God was a true Prophet from God who

spoke on the behalf of God, and this Supernatural Being stood by his word to

perform it in his midst. Elijah was not impressed with 450 prophets of Baal and the

four hundred prophets of Asherah, who ate at Jezebel table. They were false

prophets and Elijah wanted to showcase the one true and living Supernatural

Being. The prophet asked them this question, how long will waver between two

opinions?

He told them that if God be God then they should follow him, but if Baal is god

then they should follow him. I read that the people were still, they did not mutter a

word. This man of God knew his God, and we ought to know who this

Supernatural Being is. Who is like unto this Supernatural God? He is glorious in

holiness, fearful in praises doing wonders. It was time for him to showcase this

mighty God. So he told them to bring two bulls! They were told to choose one, cut

it in pieces and put it on wood. They were not supposed to set it on fire. They did as

they were told, and then the man of God commanded them to call on the name of

their gods. He told them that he would do likewise and the god who answer by fire-

he is God. They began to call upon their god from morning until evening, moaning
and groaning, O Baal answer us. They shouted but their god did not answer. I

believe their god was dead.

They appeased him by dancing around the altar but their god still did not

respond. The man of God taunted them saying shout louder, for surely your God is

real. He said, maybe he is deep in thought or busy or maybe he is travelling!

Maybe he is asleep and needs to be awakened. They were aroused and so they all

cried out louder. They slashed themselves with swords and spears as was their

custom but their god did not show up. What a disappointment this must have been

for them all, one thing I know without no shadow of doubt this Supernatural Being

will show up even before we call. That is the God we serve. Elijah stood

courageous before Israel and he got their attention! He repaired the altar of the

Lord which was in ruins! He took twelve stones, one for each of the tribe of Israel.

He used these stones to build an altar in the name of the Lord. He then dug a trench

around it large enough to hold 3 seah of seed. Then he arranged the wood, cut the

bull in pieces and laid it on the wood. He then commanded them to fill four large

jars with water and put them on the offering on the altar. They were asked to pour

water 3 times on the sacrifice so that water ran around the altar and filled the

trench.

The number 3 is quite a significant one. It is symbolic of victory, deliverance

healing and favor. Elijah was confident in his God! When it was time for him to
offer up his sacrifice he stepped forward and petitioned this Supernatural Being.

He prayed O lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you

are God of Israel and that I am your servant and have done all things at your

command. He asked, ―God answer me, O Lord. Answer me so these people will

know that you O Lord are God and that you are turning their back again‖. Then the

fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, the soil and

also licked up the water in the trench. When the people saw this they fell prostrate

and cried, the Lord is God. The Lord He is God.

When we call out to this Supernatural Being and he answer us by fire we will have

to bow down and worship Him. He showed up for Elijah and he will do the same

thing for you and me. He neither slumbers nor sleeps. His ears are opened to listen

to you. He is never too busy for you and it does not matter where you may have

fallen. In the pit or fiery furnace, in bitter water, this Supernatural Being of yours

will intervene. What a mighty God? Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong

and mighty in battle! Who is like unto this Supernatural Being? There is none like

Him! He is Jehovah! I will be that I will be- to become! This God of your will

become whatever he wants to fulfill His purpose. He has not changed and he will

never change!

There are many names by which we can address this Supernatural Being. These

Supernatural Being is our Jehovah- Shammah. The Lord is present here with us.

Adonai- Jehovah. Adonai means master and our master is the divine one. He

demands your obedience and service. He is the possessor and ruler of men. The

songwriter wrote that he is the master of the sea, billows he will obey. This

Supernatural Being is our Jehovah- Jireh. The Lord our God will provide. He is

able to provide for all that man and beast requires. He cares for the sparrow. Are

you not more valuable than they? O, you of little faith, he knows what you need.

Lord God our maker, for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture. We
are the flock under His care. Let us worship His majesty! Unto him be glory, honor

and praise. The Lord is majesty. The Lord is robed in majesty and is armed with

strength.

May our soul yearns and faints for the court of this Supernatural Being! Blessed or

empowered are those who dwell in the secret place of this awesome Being. They

will praise Him at all times! Praise to this Supernatural Being should be as

spontaneous as breathing. We must resolve to praise Him at all times. His praise

must continually be in our mouth and our souls must boast in him. Praise will

draw the lonely, the despair, the weak, the feeble- hearted out of depression,

complacency, dormancy, stagnancy or whatever it is that hold them strong. Let us

exalt His name to gather! He deserves the highest praise! Hallelujah is the highest

praise.

Last but certainly not least, He is our Jehovah-Rapha. The Lord is our healer.

Jeremiah 8:22 says, ―Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician? Why is

there no healing for the wounds of the people? 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, ― If my

people which are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my

face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and heal their

land. Do you need healing for your souls? This Supernatural Being is powerful

enough to heal all your diseases. He sent his word and healed them who cried out
to Him in their distresses. Nothing is impossible to them who have faith. Nothing

is at all impossible with this Supernatural Being! He is your all in all.

Encouragement: We must resolve to praise Him at all times. His praise must

continually be in our mouth and our souls must boast in him. Praise will draw the

lonely, the despair, the weak, the feeble- hearted out of depression, complacency,

dormancy, stagnancy or whatever it is that hold you strong.

Prayer: When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to this Supernatural Being who is

omnipotent, Omniscient and omnipresent; more than able to rectify every situation

in my life.Amen.

Chapter 12

Psalm 91

It wasn’t long ago I had diverse and complex situations in my life that was beyond

my ability to bear, so I thought. I was compelled by the diversity and complexity of

my situations to approach the secret place of the Most High. I cried in His presence

with loud cry and tears. I was determined to command the Lord’s help. God’s

word declares in Isaiah 45:11 ―Thus saith The Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and

His maker, ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work

of my hands, command ye me‖. My earnest request was for God to send me

someone to pray for me. I needed an anointed vessel to encourage me. Have you

ever been there? I know that I have The Paracleute or the Holy Ghost with me.

He’s my comforter, strengthener, guide and teacher but I needed someone to

minister to me.

I am familiar with comforting scriptures such as 1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath

no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful who
will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but with the temptation

also make a way to escape, that he may be able to bear‖. I am aware of the truth,

that Jesus is also my helper. He’s the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I know

he’s my intercessor, praying for us at the right hand of the father but I remained in

his presence until tears streamed down my face. Immediately after crying, I heard

the still small voice of The Holy Spirit saying Psalm 91. I was very blunt! I asked

the question what does Psalm 91 has to do with me? I read this Psalm many, many

times, but this time it was impressed upon my spirit to study, memorize, meditate

and retain this Psalm line upon line and percept upon percept. I began to study

Psalm 91 with all of my heart. I purpose in my heart not to forget a word. I was

determined not to swerve from it. I was determined to keep it and live by it.I

wondered what God had in mind? It wasn’t very long after, he sent me an anointed

vessel full of faith and the word of God indwells him richly. He said to me, I do

not know who you are and which church you attend but God has called me to

minister to his people. He said, it is a joy doing God’s will. He read a few

scriptures and he prayed the prayer of faith over my life. I was amazed by God’s

doing. God answered my prayer. As he was about to leave he said, read Psalm 91

for the next few days. I was awe-stricken. The Holy Ghost directed me to study

Psalm 91. God is an awesome God. Therefore, now that I have been comforted by

God through his vessel, it’s God’s timing to comfort his children. This is what the
word of The Lord says in II Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be God, even the father

of our Lord Jesus Christ, The father of mercies, and The God of all comfort. Who

comforted us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort them which are

in trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Psalm 91 is one of the most familiar Psalms written for all believers who need the

protection, security and the blessings of God. Some folks believed that Moses was

the writer, others believed it was David. Does it really matter who wrote this

Psalm? The Psalmist knew God was his keeper! God promises to protect his

children from the powers of darkness. God promises preservation of his children.

He promises surveillance of angels to be in charge of his children. God promises

that his children shall triumph over their enemies. I thank God for his word of

deliverance concerning his children. Who is like unto The Most High? There is

none like him. He’s unconquerable, incomparable, the undefeated champion of

yesterday, today and forever.

Once upon a time we had no fellowship or communion with The Most High. We

were alienated or separated from Him because of Sin. We fall short of his Glory

but God promised His seed to bridge the gap between God and man. This seed

according to Romans 1: 3; was made of David according to flesh, and was declared

to be the son of God with power, according to The Holy Ghost. We were not

considered his people, his sons and daughters. We were not partakers of God’s
mercy and his compassion. But because of the promise, we are now the blessed

people of God. We are The Apple of God’s eye. We are the men and women,

boys and girls after God’s own heart. I thank God that he hath delivered us from

the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son. We

have been transferred from death unto life.

We have been transferred from Egypt to the Promise land. I thank God that our

Egypt is behind us and now we have crossed over and we are heading for a place

prepared by the Maker himself. Now that we have been translated, the word of the

Lord declares in Romans 8:16-17 ―That the Spirit beareth witness with our Spirit,

that we are the children of God; and because we are children, then are we heirs;

heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus‖. Now we are called God’s elect,

God’s blood-bought saints. Now are we called believers, the righteousness of God

in Christ Jesus?

We are lively stones. According to I Peter 2:5, 9 ―Now we are lively stones

are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices,

acceptable to God by Christ Jesus. Now are we a chosen generation; a royal

priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people that ye show forth the praises to him

who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light‖. We have all have

access to the secret place of the Most High. He that dwelleth in the secret place of

the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1) Who
is he that dwells in the secret place of The Most High? Who is he that abides

under the shadow of The Almighty? It is you the believer, the righteousness of

God in Christ Jesus that has right to the secret place of The Most High. The Most

High is El-Elijon. El Elijon is the exalted one. El-Elijon is the sole object of our

reverence and worship.

What a grand and glorious privilege it’s to abide under the shadow of The

Almighty? ―One writer says the Almighty is El Shaddai, the strength giver, the

satisfier, the all sufficient one who enriches and make fruitful. El Shaddai is the

God of Overpowering might. El Shaddai controls all the powers of nature and he

makes them serve his purpose‖. El Shaddai is God the Omnipotent .The Most

High, El-Shaddai is our refuge. A refuge is shelter, retreat; one who flees to a

place of safety. It’s imperative that we confide in the Most High as our refuge.

Others make other things their refuge but we can say the Most High, El-Shaddai,

The true and living God is our refuge. The Most High, El-Shaddai will not fail us.

He’s our fortress; He’s our strong tower!

The songwriter wrote, God is our refuge, a strong and mighty tower that we

can run to. Our refuge is a strong and mighty tower, the righteous run into him and

they are safe. We ought to trust in the Most High. We cannot trust in chariots or

horses but we must trust in the name of the Lord thy God. Surely the Most High

will shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler; and from the noisome
pestilence. (Psalm 91:3) The Most High will deliver us the believers from

imminent danger which would be fatal to us. The Most High- El-Shaddai will

deliver us from the snare of the fowler (a figure of Satan craftiness) which is laid

unseen and catches the unwary prey on a sudden. The Most High will deliver us

from the noisy pestilence (deadly) which seizes men unawares and against which

there is no guard. The Most High- El-Shaddai is capable of protecting the natural

life. We are under his divine protection from infectious diseases and we are out of

the hands of the wicked and unreasonable. The Most High – El-Shaddai will

protect the spiritual life by divine grace from the temptations of Satan. We do have

the assurance that no principalities, no powers, rulers of darkness, spiritual

wickedness in high places will have the victory over us. The Most High shall

cover thee and keep the secret of his presence. Psalm 31:20 says ―That thou shall

hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of men: thou shalt keep them

secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shall thou trust: His truth

shall be thy shield and buckler. The Most High (El-Elijon) the Almighty, El-

Shaddai cares for you and I so think it not strange that he allowed his son to be

despised and rejected. He allowed him to be stricken, smitten, afflicted and

bruised for you and me. So after he had suffered now are we His children. His

eyes are on us! The Most High, the Almighty is watching over you as a hen
watches over her chicks like a mother bird cover her young with her feathers!

Under Gods’ wings we will find security, safety, trusting in his faithfulness.

Deuteronomy 32:11; says, as an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her

young, spreadeth aboard her wings taketh, them, bearth them on her wings.

It’s imperative to take a look at this imaginary after copulation- the hen lays her

eggs and she sits on it for a period of time before its time for hatching. After

hatching, these little chicks have to rely on the mother hen to forge for food. This

phase is a learning process for them. The mother hen is overly protective of her

chicks. She is on the lookout for apparent danger and if there is danger she will

squeak. This cry is an alarm for all her chicks to hear and run for refuge. It’s an

awesome sight to see the mother hen at such a time of danger her feathers are

ruffled, and her wings are extended. She positions herself to confront her attacker.

This is an awesome sight and a frightening one. You have to bear this in mind, the

predator, the one who comes to prey on her chicks has to flee but under her wings

are her chickens safe and secure from all alarm. Psalm 17:8; says, that The Most

High will keep you as the apple of his eye. He will hide you under the shadow of

his wings. Psalm 57:1 says ―Be merciful unto me, God, be merciful unto me. For

my soul trusted in thee: Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge,

until these calamities are over past‖.

What about the Most High? So what about the Almighty God? Remember the

Most High is the God you serve and you are his dear children. Therefore, the Most

High, the Almighty will ruffle his feathers over you. The Most High will

encompass you with his awesome presence. So high will be His protection,

nothing will go above it. So low, His is Devine protection nothing can go around

it.

So wide, His is Devine protection nothing can go around it! You’re safe and secure

from all alarm when you dwell in the secret place of the Most High! When you

abide under the shadow of the almighty! Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by

night, the arrow by day, the pestilence in darkness, nor the destruction at noon day.

I believe in the edge of divine protection but I also believe the blood of Jesus

Christ stand out as our defense. The blood of Jesus is all over you and me and is

keeping us alive. Jesus is keeping us alive. The death angel cannot touch us when

he sees the blood for the life of the flesh is in the blood. The songwriter wrote,

when I see the blood, when I see blood, he will pass over . Let us thank God for

the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Peter 1:18-19 says, ―Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with

corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain consideration received by

tradition from your fathers but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb

without blemish and without spot. The righteous shall see with their eyes the
reward of the wicked‖. Psalm 37:34 says ―Wait on the Lord and keep his way, and

he shall exalt thee to inherit the land when the wicked are cut off, thou shall see it.

You shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance of the wicked‖. Verse 9-16; is the

blessings of security for the righteous. Those who have made the Lord his refuge

and the most high his habitation will have blessings of the Lord. It is time for us to

be steadfast and unmovable; you must know that you’re blessed to have angelic

surveillance and protection. No harm shall befall you, nor shall any plague come

near your tent! (Psalm) Proverb 1:33 says ―But whosoever hearkeneth unto the

Lord shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. The word of The Lord

declares in II Peter 2:9 ―The Lord knoweth how to deliver the Godly out of

temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the Day of Judgment to be punished‖.

The Most High, El-Shaddai, our refuge shall give his angels charge over us,

to keep thee in all thy ways. The Most High God will commission ministering

angels to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. Psalm 34:7 says that

the angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth

them. You’re standing in the unbroken circle of angelic surveillance. Fear not for

those which are for you are greater and mightier than those who are against you.

Why does the blood bought church of God have to fearful when the word of the

Lord declares in Psalm 68:17 ―The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even

thousands of angels; The Lord is among them, as in Sinai in the holy place. If God
came on Mount Paran-Sinai with thousands and thousands of angels! He’s here,

now with legions of angels. We are standing on holy ground and there are angels

all around. Let’s just believe His word that abides in us because we are standing

on holy ground. God’s angels are powerful. An account is given in the Old

Testament where an angel of the Lord killed 185,000 of Israel enemies. Angels

shall bear thee up – lest thou dash or strike they foot against a stone, lest the

believer stumble and fall into sin and into trouble. The believer, the righteousness

of God in Christ Jesus shall tread upon the lion and the adder. The enemy of our

souls is called a roaring lion, the old serpent, the old dragon, but the God of peace

shall tread upon Satan, trample upon him. He’s under his feet.

The Perfect Lamb of God, Jesus Christ has bruised the serpents head. He spoiled

all principalities and triumphed over them making a public spectacle of them.

Jesus said to his disciples, I have given you power to tread upon scorpions and

demons. We shall have the victory for God himself will trample on our enemies.

Don’t be despondent! Do not be fearful. Do not gripe or complain because the

Most High promise to the saints is that in due time, he will deliver them out of

trouble: I will deliver you (vs. 14 and again vs15) is denoting a double deliverance;

living and dying, deliverance in trouble and out of trouble. Many are the

afflictions of the righteous: But the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Are you in trouble? The Most High – El Elyon will deliver you? If he delivers the

Apostle Paul, he will deliver you. Paul wrote to Timothy, his spiritual son saying

that persecutions and afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, Iconium and

Lystra. What persecutions I endured but out of them all the Lord delivered me in

Tim 4:18 declare, and the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will

preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: To whom be glory forever and ever amen.

The Most High will set his people on high because they have known his name.

They that call upon the name of the Lord shall never be put to shame. He’s rich

unto them that called upon his name. Isaiah 58:9 says, then shall thou call, and the

Lord shall answer; thou shall cry and he shall say here I am. If God says it, he will

watch over his word to perform it. He will hasten his word to perform it.

The Most High God will pour upon his people the spirit of prayer and he will

answer. We will enter the throne of Grace with confidence and offer up our

prayers, supplications, thanksgiving with a loud cry and tears and he will answer.

He will say, here I am! What would you have me to do for you? Speak! Say it.

Be it according to faith. The Most High will honor his people. He will satisfy you

with long life. The believer will live long enough until the work they have been

sent to do is accomplished and now are they ready for heaven. God says I will

show you my salvation! We have received his salvation, when we accepted his son

as our personal savior. Simeon and Anna, The Prophetess, and many others had
seen the Lords salvation and soon and very soon we will see him with our eyes.

We shall see the Kings of kings, the Lord of lords, the Conquering Lion of The

Tribe of Judah. One day soon, we shall all be completely delivered from all

wickedness and ungodliness and we shall reign with the Most High God, El-

Shaddai, our refuge and fortress for evermore.

Encouragement: They that call upon the name of the Lord shall never be put to

shame. He’s rich unto them that called upon his name. Isaiah 58:9 says, then shall

you call, and the Lord shall answer; you shall cry and he shall say here I am. If

God says it, he will watch over his word to perform it. He will hasten his word to

perform it.

Prayer: Heavenly father, I thank you that I have divine protection under the

shadow of the almighty God. Like a mother hen your feathers cover me from the

wiles and plans of the evil one.

Healing is the Children’s Bread

Chapter 13
The prayer of the righteous is effective

James 5:13-18

It is at times interesting to know that even though human beings are intelligent we

do not always have the answers to many of the unseemingly diverse situations that

challenge us. Looking to others does not always solve our problem but there is one

who is faithfully who bids or pleads with us to turn to Him and talk about the

things that easily beset us. Prayer is the gateway to the throne of Grace. Hebrews

4:16 says there is mercy and help in the time of trouble. Prayer is one the most

powerful forces in the universe and the greatest means at our disposal for fulfilling

the great commission. ―One writer says that Prayer is the match that is used to

release the explosive power of the Holy Ghost in affairs of God’s people‖.

James 5:16 says, ―That the fervent effectual prayer of a righteous man avails

much‖. There is power in prayer. Explosive power due to prayer caused God to

rent the heavens and showered rain when there was drought! Explosive power due

to prayer caused God to show up and answered by fire! Explosive power due to

prayer caused prison doors and shackles to be broken! Power in Greek is dudumis!

This is dynamite or can do power- supernatural strength and abilities. Prayer is

talking to God! It is asking, seeking and knocking! Matthew chapter 7: 7-11 says,

―Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you: for everyone who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to

him who knocks it shall be opened‖. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son

ask for bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a

serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children,

how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them who

asks him?‖

God is a giver of all good and perfect gifts and He does not change like shifting

shadow. I believe it is appropriate to mention that Jesus told his disciples in Acts 1

verse eight, that you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon

you: and you shall be my witnesses throughout Judea, Jerusalem, and Samaria and

unto the uttermost part of the world. These disciples positioned themselves in the

upper room! They were in the upper room waiting for the promise with great

expectancy. They were not anxious about anything but they were in prayer when

the Holy Ghost and power descended upon them. The atmosphere was electrifying!

There were signs and wonders! These fearful folks received power and they were

as bold as a lion. They had to be bold as a lion because the spirit of the Lion of the

tribe Judah had given the Holy Ghost and power. They faced the members of the

Sanhedrin with boldness! They expounded the word with boldness. These

uneducated folks were transformed into spiritual stalwarts.

Their prayer shook buildings! Their prayer caused earthquake in prison where they

were bound. They turn everywhere upside down. (Acts 17:7) prayer was their chief

business. They prayed in season and out of season. The bible tells us that when

Peter was thrown in jail for defending the gospel, the brethren gathered into a

house and they began to pray. God listens to the prayer of righteous man. Heaven

was drawn nigh to earth! God is interested in every little detail of our life that is

why it is important to offer up our prayers to him. Lets’ forget about our intellect

and eloquence and tell it to Jesus according to the ability you have received.

God sent an angel to release Peter! Are you in bandage? It is imperative that you

purpose in your heart to enter the throne of grace and tell it to your father. We do

have the tendency to pray only when we are in crisis. That is alright but do not take

God for granted! We must be prayed up so that in the midst of trouble we will

manifest His virtues, and glory. We do not have to be panic- stricken for Daniels’

God surely will deliver. He will do it again! Peter, James and John were well

prayed up before they set out to that prayer meeting! Prayer was their chief

business! The man at gate beautiful begged for money and expected nothing but

some coins. They said to the man silver and gold we do not have but such as we

have in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

What did they have? They were possessed with the word and they had received

the Holy Ghost and power. I encourage you to rise up in the name of Jesus and let
your prayer move God. If you offer up your prayer it is no secret what God can

do! Your heavenly father will take look down as He did for the children of Israel!

This is awesome but sometimes we pray and our prayers only bat the air. God was

not impressed and he doesn’t have any intention to move on your behalf but he is

waiting for someone who will cause Him to move on their behalf. The prayer of

God’s righteous saint is powerful.

The onlookers knew that these men had been with Jesus. Satan is knowledgeable!

He knows about your prayer life. We must be at that place in God where the enemy

is afraid of us. We must be energized, saturated, ignited and empowered by the

habit of prayer so that others may know and be blessed and be charged. We must

purpose in our heart to move God with our prayer. John Nichols, a great Evangelist

said, that truth will move men but prayer will move God and we need a move of

God. Prayer is supposed to be a joyful experience. There is a sense of sweetness

when the saints in Christ approach the throne of grace. One songwriter wrote,

sweet hour of prayer that calls me from a world of care and bids me at my father’s

throne make all my wants and wishes known. And since he bids me seek his face

believe his word and trust his grace. We cast on him our every care and wait on

thee sweet hour of prayer. It a blessed hour of prayer when our hearts lowly bent

when we gather with Jesus our savior and friend with a sympathizing heart we lose

every care what a balm for the weary! O how sweet to be there! If you have ever
attended a dead prayer meeting, God’s presence was not there. There is nothing

dull about fulfilling God’s condition to hear his voice speaking to us telling us to

come to Him.

He will answer us by fire if we believe and call on his name. He will send an

earthquake to shake the prison door open and loose the shackles if we learn to trust

him when we pray. The word of the Lord says, in 1 John 5:14, ―This is the

confidence that we have in him that, if we ask anything according to his will, he

hears us. And if we know that he hears us whatsoever ever we ask we know that

we have the petitions that we desired of him‖. Our Lazarus will come forth alive as

we remove the stones of unbelief, doubt, fear jealousy and all the fleshy desires in

our lives are mortified. God’s desire is to communicate with us and intends for

communication to be a normal part of our relationship with him. God frequently

speaks to his children who believe and expects that he will.

Jeremiah 33:3says ―Come unto me and I will show you great and mighty things

that you know not of‖. Hebrews 4:16 says ―Let us therefore come boldly into the

throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find help in the time of need‖.

Prayer is talking with God. It is asking and receiving, seeking and finding,

knocking and opening. Donald S. Whitley says that ―prayer expresses the largest

and most comprehensive approach unto God. It gives prominence to the elements
of devotion. It is communion and intercourse with God. Prayer is enjoyment of

God. Prayer is access to God.‖

―According to one writer ―Supplication‖ is a more restricted and more intense form

of prayer, accompanied by a sense of personal need, limited to the seeking in an

urgent manner of a supply for pressing need. Supplication is the very soul of prayer

in the way of pleading for someone or something greatly needed and the need

intensely felt‖.

Hannah in the book of 1 Samuels is an example of a prayer of supplication. When

we come to God in supplication it is no secret what he will do. What he has done

for others he will certainly do it for us! Do you have a situation that is facing you

turn around and see God! (2 Kings Chapters 18 & 19) Hezekiah had to turn to God

when King Senna- cherib sent Rab-shakeh with the threatening word. Don’t think

that your God will deliver you. You must have heard that I have defeated nations. I

am the great king of Assyria. And I now come up without the Lord against this

place to destroy it. The Lord said to me, go up against this land and destroy it.

Rab- shakeh boasted and insulted God. Hezekiah heard about the kings threatening

word and he sought the Lord. He rent his clothes and covered himself in sackcloth,

and went into the house of the Lord. This word sackcloth refers to his humbling

himself in the sight of God. The house of the Lord refers to the temple, where God
dwelt in the Holy of holies between the mercy seat and the cherubim. The only

help for Judah was God! Likewise the only help for the church is God! We will

have look to the hills! From whence comes our help! It comes from the Lord who

made heaven and earth. He will not suffer our foot to be moved. He who keeps

Israel, never slumber or sleeps. He is a shade at our right hand. The sun will not

smite us by day or the moon by night.

He will protect us! God will take care of us! Hezekiah sent word to the prophet

Isaiah saying, this day is a day of trouble, and rebuke and blasphemy; for the

children are come to birth and there is no strength. Judah had no strength! They

must look to God. Isaiah had a word for the king. He said, say to your master, thus

saith the Lord, be not afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the

servant of the King of Assyria blasphemed me. Do not be afraid. I will send a blast

upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and I shall cause him to fall by the sword in

his land. The devil does not give up easily! He will continue to buffet and

challenge the saints of living God with intensity. What are you going to do? Are

you going to shrink and back and let him destroy you? Are going to have a pity

party and let the devil have a field day? You cannot give him any grounds

absolutely no grounds! You will have to say I, whoever you are; I am giving up no

grounds!
The king sent to Hezekiah saying, let it be known to you that all of the other gods

of these nations I have destroyed: and shall you be delivered? Hezekiah knew in

whom he believed. He read the letter the great king of Assyria sent to him but he

went up into the house of the Lord and he spread out the letter before the Lord.

spread it out! Spread out martial problem! Spread out the concerns for your family!

Spread out the opposition, low self esteem money problem whatsoever it may be

spread it out! He said, O Lord God of Israel, which dwells between the Cherubim,

you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made

heaven and earth. Lord, bow down your ear, and hear: open, Lord, your eyes, and

see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which has sent him to reproach the living

God.

He said, of a truth, Lord, the king of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their

lands. And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of

men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them. Now therefore,

O God, I beseech you, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the

earth may know that you are the Lord God, even you only. God heard the cry of

the King and Isaiah prophesied deliverance. Thus says the Lord concerning the

king of Assyria, he shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor

come before it with a shield, nor cast a bank against it. There will be no siege. By

the way he came, by the way he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the
Lord. For I will defend this city, to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant

David’s sake. Turn around and take it to the lord in prayer! Vengeance is God’s.

He will repay.

It came to pass that night that the angel of the Lord went out and smote in the camp

of the Assyrian an hundred and eighty five thousand. When they arose early in the

morning, behold, they were all dead corpses. The great king fled and went to

Nineveh and it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisrock his

god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword. They

then escaped and his youngest son Esar-haddon reigned in his stead. What do you

do when it is a life and death situation? When the doctor says, there is nothing I

can do for you, who do you turn to? What do you do when you are between a rock

and a hard place? What do when you do not know what to do? This king had great

enemies but God killed them but now he was faced with death. The prophet said to

him, thus saith the Lord, set your house in order; for you shall surely die, and not

live.

2 Kings Chapter 20says, that he turned his face to the wall. I do not know what you

are facing right now but it is imperative that you turn your faces to the wall. We

must enter the throne of grace radically and with intensity and spread it to God!

The problems are more diverse and intense therefore we have to be fired up in

prayer. The monarch turned his face from all the riches, glory, and grandeur of
Judah and Jerusalem. He saw himself as undone, helpless, and totally dependent on

the mercy of God. He said I beseech you, O lord, remember now how I have

walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is

good in your sight. The king wept sore. I have been weeping before God like

Hezekiah for some time now. I said God, you are not dead yet the church that you

sent your only son to die for is dead. The church is bound by the spirit of lethargy,

stagnancy, dormancy. There is no life and the blood bought saints of living seem to

living under the influence of a Zombie spirit.

I asked where is the fire? Why are there no signs and wonders? Why is the church

afraid of speaking in tongues when spirit of the Lord gives them utterance? I do not

want to hear any foolishness that miracles ceased when Jesus ascended to His

father and his disciples died. That a lie from the pit of devil! Greater works shall

we do because he is gone to the father and we did receive the promise Holy Ghost

and power. I prayed Abba; I need to see signs and wonders! We need the Shekinah

glory! We need God’s train in the house! We need the fire of God! If God is a God

of fire then we are ministers of fire. The church was born in prayer, therefore the

church must not be anxious about anything but in by prayer and supplication, let

your requests be made known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all

understanding will keep our minds in Christ Jesus.

God heard Hezekiah prayer! He will always respond to a broken heart. God spoke

to Isaiah before he was gone into the middle court saying, turn again, and tell

Hezekiah the caption of my people, thus saith the Lord, the God of David your

father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: behold I will heal you on

the third day you shall go up unto the house of the Lord. And I will add unto your

days fifteen years; and I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of

Assyria; and I will defend this city for own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

And Isaiah said, take a lump of figs and they laid it upon the boil and he recovered.

God is able to turn around an extremely ugly situation. What he did for the

monarch, he will do for you and me. It is time to weep bitterly before God for the

situation that is facing us and for the church to move God with our prayers so that

the need, the strongholds will come down in the name of Jesus. Darkness will be

dispelled, and the plots of the enemy will be demolished. The captive will set free

and a mighty revival breaks in our heart in and outside the four wall of this

sanctuary.

That stinking situation that is facing, do not be dismayed! Just turn your eyes to

God and speak His word over that thing. His word is spirit and life! Resurrection

power and life will saturate that situation. Then all people will have to give God

the glory, the honor and praise. He has never failed us yet! He never fails us yet!

He never fails us yet! Jesus Christ never fail us yet Everywhere I go I want the
world to know that the God of yesterday, today and forever has no failure in him.

He turned bitter water sweet, opened up a pathway in the red sea, killed nations

upon nations for his chosen people. He fed his people when there was no food! He

gave them water when they were thirsty. He is God all by himself but do we

believe? Are we living by faith? Are we calling some things that are not and it

shall be so. I am believing God for breakthroughs! I believe God to save his people

before we hear the word, too late, too late mercy gone! Too late, too late judgment

comes! I am believing God for revival, restoration, healing, and miracles in lives of

His people. I believe God! I believe God! Ask what it will and it shall be done.

Trust and obey, many will say, I believe, I believe God. Whatsoever you ask for

when you pray, believe and it shall be yours (Mark 11:24).

Encouragement: It is time to weep bitterly before God for the situation that is

facing us and for the church to move God with our prayers so that the need, the

strongholds will come down in the name of Jesus. Darkness will be dispelled, and

the plots of the enemy will be demolished. The captive will set

Prayer: to God be the glory for access to the throne of grace. In confidence I boldly

enter knowing that there is fullness of joy and at your right hand there are pleasures

for every more.Amen
